  1. So I had the complete opposite story with genshin. Instead of being put off I was actually really excited to get into it after seeing all the cool characters and combat and hearing about the story. But then I actually played it and omg I hate this game. I don't mean to offend anyone who likes it or anything this is just my opinion but I have a lot of feelings about this game. I played it for about 15 hours and the whole thing was such a slog with boring shallow characters and a beautiful yet uninteresting world and bad pacing that would make a realm reborn blush. I felt no connection to the story and the game didn't seem to have any real personality. it made me soooooo disappointed because the game really is gorgeous and the gameplay is pretty fun but the gatcha elements really suffocated any potential the characters had to be actually well written and integrated into the story. For context I am always willing to give a genre a chance. I absolutely cannot get into mmo's yet ffxiv still managed to climb its way to the very top of my list of favourite games and opened my mind so much when it came to game design and trying new things. But genshin was no ffxiv and only proved to worsen my view that gatcha games are shallow, souless cash grabs. I really tried to like genshin I honestly did but it simply wasn't for me. But don't take this the wrong way, I'm honestly really happy that you've found a new game to talk about and no matter the topic of your video I always enjoy hearing you talk about it. Despite me hating genshin I still love hearing you talk about it 🙂

  2. Thank you so much zepla! How you played this game, experienced it and brought some much needed positivity to the community rekindked my love for this game. But i have to say i predicted that you would fall in love with it after reaching nahida's story and sure enough you did! That girl's story can change people who hated her into her biggest fans

  3. day 1 genshin and long time gacha player speaking here: i think saying the events arent permanent because of file sizes is kinda silly x) they are doing it to create a feeling of needing to keep playing the game or else you might miss out. Its the same as the daily/weekly/monthly rewards, they want you stay in touch with the game as much as possible because the longer you put it down the higher the chance you wont pick it back up. Its a fairly common strategy that every gacha game ive tried so far used in one way or another and in a very very very mild way even ff14 is doing it with their seasonal events and the time limited glams, emotes, mounts and furniture items tied to that. They know exctly what they are doing.

  4. NO.

Why you'd promote these games that ruin the industry is beyond me. The game's fucking trash. Every system is design to milk you for money while they dripfeed you content. Every event or anniversary has been a JOKE.

But you spend money. You're now invested. Probably had more viewers than when playing FFXIV so time to shill I guess and by high on copium.

  5. There's definitely some good game to be had with Genshin Impact but the gacha part just pulled me out of the experience. I played for a few months without spending money on it and mostly enjoyed my time. Once I got to where it was a lot harder to earn the Prima Gems consistently, I stopped playing. I knew if I put in my credit card, I'd have a hard time managing myself, so I just refused to do that. Would love a game like this that didn't require interacting with random rewards to get new characters unlocked. Sure, you don't need them to play but the temptation is there, and I just don't want to deal with it, so I'll go play something else.

  8. oh my god, it's been 2.5 years since game release but some people still hate Genshin because of the gacha. And they don't even see what's in the game besides that…

  9. When I hear discourse around Genshin, whether that be opening a stream, watching a youtube video, or have someone explain the game, invariably they are either in the process of gamba, or talking about pity systems and primo gems. I'm sorry, but despite what this game does right/fun it's overall toxic to gaming as a whole. A similar issue is popping up with shooter games, where much of the discourse centers around the battlepass, the characters you have unlocked, or the skins you bought.

In gaming past, when you asked someone what they're doing in Call of Duty, they'd tell you about the challenges they are trying to complete, their attempt to get a high kill streak, or how they are trash talking people in the lobby. In my view, games designed like Genshin, are bad bad no no ouchy.

  10. I started Genshin day 1 and it took me by surprise at how good it was for a gacha game. Unfortunately for my wallet, I'm bi and simp for both waifus and husbundos… and Mihoyo has some real S tier waifus and husbundos. Don't even get me started on Star Rail. Tingyun? Jing Yuan? Are you kidding me? fans self vigorously

  11. This game is good for a free game if you cant or dont want to play anything else, but god there has never been a worse stamina capped phone game style design before. You hit this wall so early where all you have to do is run around and collect shit or wait for stamina to recharge. I quit after a month cause of that alone. even if the other stuff is good

  12. I started playing mihoyo games from hokai 2. I played Genshin Impact since it was released. A few days later, I explored every corner of the map, and then I uninstalled it. It is a good game, but no new map and plot make it boring. Two years later, I came back because mihoyo and GI players created many incredible things. Now I have achieved 100% exploration on every map and 853 achievements. I spent 200 USD on Nahida banner and learned a lesson that I must control my desires. Should I throw away this game? No.
The experience of hokai 2 and 3 tells me not to invest too much time and money in the game of mihoyo, nor not play it at all. GI will operate for many, many years, and create many incredible things. In order to understand these things, all you have to do is play the game for 15 minutes every day.Hope to see you at the end of the journey,Travelers.

  13. Turns out… women IRL aren't as shallow as I hoped
Throwing money at them doesn't necessarily get you bitches… And then Genshin comes along with a beer

  14. I tried genshin from day 1. I spent maybe a week in game before I realized it wasnt for me. Ironically everything about GI should be for me, amazing pve combat, great characters, great story with involved characters, and the list goes on. But for whatever reason i just cant ever get into it fully. Everytime i play it i auit the same day again. I think it might be my concept of "needed time to invest" for it. I just dont have time to invest in another game.
