Yeah I like Genshin than WuWa but I can never say that Genshin is better than WuWa in combat and exploration. Hell, the only reason I'm staying at Genshin is to see the end of the story. That's it. No Archon Quest, no game.
The problem with genshin is no change on core gameplay hek they dont do justice with geo elements bcus they make it neutral like wtf we don't need that bcus core gameplay is elements reaction bcus of that the only "good" dps geo is only 2 and worst they forget eula the only character with physical dmg gameplay no buff or what so ever like wtf man if u release it make it work dont abandon it
And problem 2 is why the fk we can't use delusion while character had vision + delusion it just lazy, i remember when childe First drop on archon quest and they had confirm if will be playable, he can use vision hydro and delusion electro it so cool and finally new mechanic but when the banner drop my dream crushing down like bro why only hydro that wasted opportunity

Wuwa does not feel like a gacha game to the point where they just keep improving each patch really blows my expectations away even though my expectations were already high enough but mannn can't wait for more future patches and what they will be experimenting on their game like they did with PGR

i still play genshin, and combat stagnated to be honest, you have apply an element first then you use another element to create element reactions to amplify your damage and good normal attack animations are locked to 5 stars characters 4 star characters have clunky normal attack animation. the devs completely ignores physical dps and focus more on elemental dps, and most importantly where the fuck is the skip button its been 4 years, While Wuwa came out eliminated the need of elemental reactions and 4 star and 5 star characters are have face pace normal attack animation and most importantly a skip button.
Great Video, however i would like to say that i dont think that Combat was Ever the main focus of Genshin, since if it was they could have done something simmilar like kuro where they use the Previous game as a blueprint for the combat (PGR, and in hoyos Case HI3) since honkai impact third goes way more into the Classic anime type of Combat. I think its pretty apparent that Hoyo gives every type of player a game that suits their own interest what i mean with that is that if you like anime-esque combat you have HI3 and ZZZ if you like Turn based games you have HSR and if you like Exploration You have Genshin. English isnt my first language so apologies if there are some typos.

Putting infinity nikki is actually fitting for the part to say each new game will have it's own charm. To me, wuwa's charm mainly placed in the combat system and i really love it. Nikki instead, focus on the cozy exploration, played it, loved it too. Genshin on the other hand, feels so exhausting to me because the exploration mechanic is frustating (with some QoL locked behind a limited character) and th combat feels monotone because all i need is to keep the rotation going and see how big damage i can do. There's no flashy combat movement that makes the battle pump my blood, and no cozy exploration when i want to chill
GI players that says their game's combat gameplay is better than WUWA so delusional lol. Woah look i startled enemy, i click skill, click ult, switch and do the same, and basically the cycle just goes on and on.

Back in 2020, I thought Genshin was going to be the best anime-like game I'll ever played. That's why I was really hyped about Inazuma, a Japanese Region, that I feel has tons of references they can take as "anime-like" in making Inazuma characters the same way they're making HI3 characters (flashy and cool basically). It was why I was so hyped for kazuha after seeing how cool his moveset was.
Yet throughout 2.x patches I wasn't really interested in any of the characters. I didn't pull for Ayaka because I pulled for Kazuha (still pulled her weap somehow so got her on a rerun); didn't pull for yoimiya; didn't pull for Raiden; pulled for Yae but kinda dissapointed; the only Inazuma character I was hyped after Kazuha was Heizou, another anemo character, and the first character to throw-hands for combat lol.
I always feel like the male characters were much more cooler and interesting than the female characters. The ONLY time where I was kinda hype af for a female character was Arlecchino and goddammit she's very cool.
Afterwards the game has been in a stalemate ever since. Sure it has it's ups and downs but it never really goes anywhere. Patch 3.x gave me severe burnout. Patch 4.0-4.2 was fucking hype af. Patch 4.4 made me wanna quit the game after seeing the "3 wishes" fiasco. Patch 4.6 was the last straw for me because of Arlecchino, and then WuWa came out. After that I rarely login to Genshin, only did endgame stuff like Spiral Abyss and TI, only did the 4.7 AQ and Natlan AQ Chapter 1. Seeing an accident that is similar to the "3 wishes" which is the 2 limited characters in one phase made me never look back in Genshin again.
In 4 years, the game has been pretty much the same with just new areas and new QoL that are not too life-changing.

If Genshin were to update their fighting mechanics similar to how the characters move in their cutscenes, it would be able to compete. But its mechanics and gameplay is too far set in stone for them to overhaul combat. Wuthering Waves combat is such a breath if fresh air.

It's obvious, genshin is an older game while wuwa is a newer game. Wuwa wouldn't exist without genshin. Genshin is a casual game while wuwa is a hardcore game so the animation gameplay is also different. However, all of the comparison talks about the gameplay and the QoL only but never mentioned about the lore. If you're a lore based player, it's obvious genshin is better.

Yup. ZZZ got me first on Christmas, then now WuWa. Was curious about genshin seeing the new “Mesa” (Warframe) like character but think imma just stick with zzz and wuwa.

I quit Genshin long ago, I was waiting for Ananta and Neverness to Everness, but Wuthering Waves came to PlayStation, and made me enjoy the style again. The fighting mechanics are so pleasurable that got me, I feel like I'm taking part in the action, the IFrame dodge soul like style, the light speed answer of the commands, everything was to my liking, now, as a F2P, I'll wait the PayWall, when the things start to power creep and my characters do not have kits that can make the content… Until then, Wuthering Waves is a near perfectly done action gacha, from my POV

I'm trying to be neutral most of the time, but Genshin does start to lose its edge to a finally rising competition. Genshin used to be the best but I think it's mostly because there is no competition. Now it feels like people are noticing the problems once a competitor arises.
Open world exploration for example. I started Genshin enjoying the exploration, problems with the stamina included. Then came in WuWa, with the out-of-combat infinite sprint, wall run, grappling hook and now flight (not to mention lootmapper and material search). Now I feel Genshin's exploration is heavily staggered, perhaps by design.
Combat's another example. Elemental reactions are big, yes, but when you're in combat, swap in with another character and they stand there briefly like a ladder, the team cooperation starts to feel off, compared to WuWa that has a swap-in attack not to mention Intro skills.
Story delivery is yet another example. Not gonna mention the story itself because I do think both stories are good, but while sure WuWa struggles with delivery, they make it up with more expressive range of animation and character expressions. Then I realize Genshin has a range of 5 character expressions on a good day, not to mention some characters somehow share attack animations.
Then comes Natlan. While they (somewhat understandably but annoyingly) solved material search, some of the problems above are solved by having SOME characters doing what ALL characters in WuWa can do. Hookshots, wall run, and now *flight*. Only in Natlan though. This baffles me hard because like sure Fontainians can dolphin breach. Cool, but ultimately inconsequential gameplay-wise. Sumerian Inazuman Liyueite and Mondstadtite don't get anything, but some Natlanis can fly? (Not to mention free characters like Kachina instantly get powercrept (in terms of exploration) by Xilonen for example.)
In comes Citlali. I haven't played her story yet, but a friend of mine who does feels her wide range of expression really makes the story more enjoyable. Why just her? Why not make the change for more characters?
The sad thing is, despite all that, I still feel more at home in Genshin. Not the recent updates, but I'm talking about walking around the plains of Mondstadt, trudging through the marshes of Liyue (we don't talk about Guyun Stone Forest), loitering around the city of Inazuma, sitting around forests of Sumeru and the dolphin-breaching the seas of Fontaine. Genshin really got a good environment design that Rinascita rivals but Jinzhou couldn't, not to mention HoyoMix continuously cooketh. I remembered spending literal hours in Genshin walking from Mondstadt to Liyue harbor, and wouldn't want to do that even in Rinascita. They CAN improve the exploration, they CAN increase the rewards, they CAN give more respect to the players' time and effort. WuWa did it, but they won't, because they're stuck to their high highs during their monopoly and think they can just have a problem and "sell the solution". I'm genuinely not mad, I'm mad disappointed.
even as an old consumers of mihoyo's product since ggz,i cant vouch on genshin,they become so comfortable with genshin's status they treated it like a money making machine,imagined all that resource they have and the Qol takes years to be implamented,i was among the one who ask for the players to be teleported to the middle if you doing those mats domain without the need to run all the way to the middle to started the fight..i recalled they took 3 years to solved that..and man,natlan..the exploration is tedious..all the qol is tied to a character that you need to pull,the free one is a saurian which you have to search everytime you want to do something..why cant it be a gadget that you can acessed easily..all those qol exploration kits on the characters can easily be solved by giving the kits as a gadget you have to obtain by solving the tribe's quest,mualani give you surfing board,kinich give you those rope thing and so on..i watch one of wuwa vids and the flying gadget that was given for free is look like it is a lot of fun compared to chascha flying kits and the new saurian bird..and it fly time is longer..more freedom..imagined that
I started playing Genshin on 2022, barely made any progress and dropped three months later after a lot of disappointment. I hopped back on Genshin the moment I learned how to use those skin mods and, as bland as the general player experience is, playing with skin mods really made my experience a lot more enjoyable, to the point I consistently played all the story quests and got to the endgame.
At some point I stopped playing, hopping back just to complete the Natlan archon quest and I uninstalled Genshin from my PC as soon as I completed the story hours after 5.3 was released.
Currently I'm having a blast with Wuthering Waves 2.0 and I'm learning to play it properly…
But when I think about it, it's sad that the feature that made me enjoy Genshin isn't even a game feature, but a mod…

I like Wuwa's gameplay, exploration and controls more then in Genshin.
But I like Genshin story, world building and characters more.
Wuwa has kind of the Waifu problem, besides 2 characters…only female 5* characters have been released and while one male has been leaked…the rest are female.
It also suffers from lack of character interactions…
Playable ccharacters barely interact much and only in the later half of 2.0 do we get some actual interactions.
But outside of that, most are just alone with Rover…who is kind of a Mary Sue.
What Genshin does bbest is use it's characters during the story and events.
Sometimes 4* will vet more focus then the 5*…meanwhile in Wuwa if you're aa 4*…you might as well be a NPC.
Hell, even the 5* get forgotten…
