It feels like it’s only been a week since version 5.0 came out, but it’s slowly coming to an end, and version 5.1 is all set to release on October 9th. Hoyoverse has already confirmed the upcoming 5.1 banners, though they haven’t revealed the 4-star characters this time around. In this video, we’ll take a look at the potential 4-star characters who might appear in the Phase 1 & 2 banners for the 5.1 update.

Now, as you all know, Phase 1 of 5.1 will start on October 9th, and we’ll see the banners for Xilonen and Chiori. We knew Chiori was getting a rerun, but I was still a little sad when Hoyoverse confirmed it. I was hoping the dataminers were wrong and Wriothesley would appear, but that didn’t happen, so now we have to keep waiting.

I mean, come on, Hoyoverse. A Chiori rerun before Wriothesley? Really? They already gave Navia a rerun in 4.8, and now Chiori. Who’s next, Arlecchino? Anyway, about the 4-star characters on the Phase 1 banners: both of the 5-stars are Geo units, and their kits revolve around the defense stat in one way or another. When you think of ‘defense,’ not many 4-star characters come to mind, right? But Gorou and Yun Jin are the most likely candidates for this banner.

Some of Chiori’s best teams include Gorou, and Yun Jin can work just as well. Don’t forget that these two were on Chiori’s first banner, too. Since there isn’t any new 4-star character releasing in 5.1, I’m pretty sure one (or both) of them will be featured, especially since Xilonen also scales with defense. It reminds me of version 4.5 when Chiori and Itto’s banners were live, and both of them appeared. Gorou and Yun Jin haven’t shown up on any banners since then, which makes them even more likely to appear in Phase 1.

As for me, I’m definitely pulling for Xilonen, regardless of the 4-stars. Let me know in the comments who you’re pulling for in 5.1!

Now, moving on to Phase 2 banners. As confirmed during the special program, Nahida and Hu Tao will appear on the Phase 2 banners, which will go live on October 29th. Both of these 5-star characters are incredible, especially Nahida, so good luck if you’re planning to pull for them!

As for the 4-star characters, the first one that comes to mind is Heizou. It’s really desperation at this point—my boy hasn’t been featured on any banner since version 3.7, making him the most awaited 4-star character in Genshin Impact! Mika is another one who hasn’t appeared in the last 21 banners, but I don’t see him showing up outside of an Eula banner, and she’s not getting a rerun anytime soon.

If Heizou doesn’t make it, I’d say Collei, Sayu, or Sucrose have a good chance. Kuki Shinobu is another possibility, especially since she pairs well with Nahida and hasn’t been on a banner since 4.2. Diona could also make a return—she was last seen on Hu Tao’s previous rerun and hasn’t appeared on any banner since.
