I think it would be great to only use Mondstad characters without limiting yourself on resources / regions. You can unlock the boss mats you need and eventually reach an end game if you do the archon quests. With only Mondstad characters! So you could wish for Klee, you could build Barbara etc…
Most of the comments I saw were the opposite, some of us feel like limiting yourself to only the Mondstat map is the thing that will eventually make this boring.
dont change the unlock featured just make it a region lock chalange where you have a chalan ger for every region like gettting to a certain floor or completion of quest or anything like it
The thing with not leaving Mondstadt at all..I did that on my Mondstadt Only account and I can't recommend it if you want to keep doing content for this series. Because once you're done with story quests and exploring there is literally nothing left do to except for dailies. You should really think that over!

I think a hybrid of the rules would be better, like allowing yourself to get Pyro, Geo and Hydro Mond unit mats as you advance in Abyss. (Though I think it looks nicer if you don't unlock the other Statues so the map doesn't get lit up, haha.) I do think having to work without units like Bennett and Barbara makes things interesting, it's a little sad, since Mond already lacks units to some extent. Maybe something like fighting one non-Mond boss once per every floor 9 and up star? ie, beat floor 9 with three stars, fight the Oceanid three times so you can level Barbara and get freeze as an option. Or if that's too confusing, maybe something like you can fight Geo Hypostasis if you beat floor 9, Oceanid if you beat floor 10, and Pyro Regisvine if you beat floor 11.
Like everyone already said, i think the new rule is going to kill the series. Staying in one region only sounds like a personal challenge maybe, but its honestly not very entertaining to watch. Unlocking a new region after clearing a spiral abyss floor was something to look forward to.
As I'm reading the comments, I'm agreeing with a lot of the opinions that I'm looking at. Limiting yourself to just Mondstadt is very counter-productive, and I feel like it takes away from one of the main points of the game. I like the idea of the characters being just Mondstadt only though, it adds an interesting twist to it and I'd like to imagine how endgame would go with just characters from this region. I read another comment that said only Mondstadt weapons too, which I think is another cool and unique idea. But I heavily disagree with limiting yourself to one area; but ultimately, it is your content, and you should do what you want in the end. Keep up the good videos! 🙂

If you are only using Mondstadt characters I think you should still be able to unlock the map to get mats for them.
