5 Things Honkai: Star Rail Does Better Than Genshin Impact

With how similar Honkai: Star Rail’s game systems and mechanics are to Genshin Impact, I wanted to make a video listing 5 things Star Rail does better than Genshin! (And then I’ll release a video in a couple of days I’ll release a video on the inverse)

  1. You can say Destruction MC is meh, but oh boy that meh is OUTSTANDING when you need more physical characters in the team and use other as shielder, Anemo MC never felt that useful, even before getting another anemo character, with Destruction MC before getting Sushang, was a really good way to deal phys dmg, and can do AOE if needed.

  2. btw the dispatch again feature in star rail actually doesn't save any time as opposed to claiming and assigning a new expedition to each genshin character. star rail locks you into this roughly 2 second animation when you click dispatch again, while genshin lets you spam esc or click out of the claim menu right when you see it. because of this, genshin's claim and re-deploy expedition mechanic is actually faster than star rail's albeit involving more clicks to spam through.

  3. One overlooked thing that is super important.

In HSR, every character feels like they have a use. They are all good. And you need different ones for different situations. Unlike with genshin what you said, you could brute-force a lot of the combat.
This means that as for now, that you'll keep using your old characters, and not put old 5 stars and 4 stars on the pile of old and forgotten which happens a lot in Genshin and a little bit in HI3.
Investing in characters doesn't feel like a waste, it doesnt feel like in 6 weeks your built-character will be replaced and useless.

So we end up spending a lot more time with all characters, old ones too.
Imagine if Amber still had a use ^^
It helps with forming a bond with characters.
And that bond is something HYV is very good at.

  4. I don't really understand why they couldn't take all these learnings and put them into Genshin. Seems like these changes would make 4.0 update feel more like Genshin 2. I believe this could spark new hype, news coverage, and appreciation from current devoted fans. idk I guess new game mean new stream of income 🤷🏾

  5. You can tell the lessons Hoyo have learnt from HI3 and Genshin. Trailblazer feels so bad ass, both types, even with a bat 😂 I love the humour in the game so far and I didn't think I'd use autoplay, but for material grinding it's helpful. Genshin became such a choir in that aspect

  6. Hoyoverse is slowly killing Genshin. Rip everyone whoever wasted their hard earned money on Genshin. That's what happens with these companies, they see success, they get greedy, they neglect old players & what caused their success as they go off to do new things.
Bye bye Genshin it's been a good run but it's apparent all hoyoverse genshin's team cares about is milking players for money.

  7. I almost agree to everything until you started to talk about the Elemental system? Isn't that exactly the beauty of longevity of Genshin, that each element is unique and the reactions have very detailed differences. This is agency to me. I have variety and things I can get into. Try to beat the Oceanid with Hydro. It absolutely matters what element you bring.

  8. 3:00… So you dont have two thumbs?? You cant use your right thumb to rotate the camera while using the left thumb to move the character?? I do it all the time in mobile
Just because you think it's easier to do that in PC, doesnt mean mobile players cant do the same. This is literally the same game.

The only different we have is that PC gets hotkey options

  9. The fact that the community thought that Caribert was a very enjoyable Archon Quest purely because Paimon doesn't follow us into the quest says a lot of how Paimon (mostly) ruin the experience of Genshin's quest and to develop the Traveler's character

Traveler is not as meme as trailblazer and never will be, unfortunately

  10. one thing that does take a specific notice with character balance and the accomidation of multiple senerios vs the 2 games is star rail builds off it the restrictions for its even more basic interactions to make it even attempt to stand out making all the difference chars have a pre battle team setup to accomadate for the fight ahead, well genshin yes does allow most to just ignore the more "optimal" reactions because of the weakness, this just gets sided because how the spiral abyss is setup, you create teams that are built around multiple situations because of the chambers with certain chambers being slightly slower with that team, but much faster in others. this is only something that i started noticing when i finally started 36 staring the abyss, the utility of each char independetly does start to be a factor when you arnt whaled out in damage, like super emphisis on whaled out in damage, limited damage in the ftp range actually makes having the ability to have several team setups is how ive bin not having a insane trouble with every abyss.
you think the ability to have more energy is a good thing, but in both star rail and genshin they both dont even hit 24 hours before hitting a cap. 18 hours and 21.3 hours respectivly. like this should absolutly be a min 24 hours, needing to login twice a day to not waste resources is gurenteed to burn people out stupid hard. the amount of resourses them self is probably balanced out if you equate the 2 games, but thats superfluous.

  11. You can grab someone's unit to use when farming
Like if you don't have Seele you can borrow a Seele to go stomp some enemies while you farm
This works for everything but Forgotten hall, Simulated universe and main story

  12. After the literal hell hole and drier than my pussy disaster that is Sumeru desert, it's very relaxing to have a significantly smaller map, easier navigation, WEEKLY endgame content, AND treasure chest progress, it's very chill compared to genshin

  13. The auto farm in this game really not as bad as other games where you can basically run it all on full auto, unless you have a really overpowered team. It did help me get through Genshin while running auto farm HSR on my phone.

  14. You missed the clickbait meta not being dominated by MTashed giving the absolutely worst takes imaginable. I mean he's still here showing he doesn't know how gachas work or how to read, but at least he isn't everywhere.

  15. The only thing I personally like more in hsr is the quality of life things. It’s all a matter of personal taste. I much prefer genshins worldbuilding, soundtrack, characters, character designs, gameplay, etc. I’m already bored of hsr’s combat, and while I like some of the characters, they feel less immersive because it only feels like you’re playing as them half the time and they feel stiff when not in combat. I prefer mobile over any other means of playing, because I feel like it’s more active bc I’m touching the screen, and yes genshin has the same number of combat talents, but it feels more like combat, hsr’s combat just feels monotonous: basic attack, skill, burst. I thought genshins dailies felt like a task, but I’m somehow already tired of the tasks in stair rail. I know a lot of people also enjoy the humor, but I think it’s very contrived, it’s just not my thing. I’ll probably continue to play hsr but it’ll never be my no. 1. Like I said, personal taste. I’ve always enjoyed open world expiration/fantasy games over others. I played maplestory years before genshin, and everything I didn’t like about MS, genshin fixed and I’ve been hooked ever since.

  16. sometimes it feels like genshin is the "base" and we're supposed to use star rail as a fantasy outlet where "omg imagine if: travellers could be sassy, trigger idles, longer ultis, more wacky characters " while not ruining the dignified vibe of genshin
