[4.0] Archon & World Quest Recap and Analysis – Genshin Impact

This video covers Acts One and Two of Light Rain Falls Without Reason, the Narzissenkruez Institute World Quest and the Melusine World Quest. It also references Lyney’s first story quest and a couple of exploration objectives available as of version 4.0.

These recaps are concise as the video primarily focuses on “what we learned from the quests” rather than going over exactly what happened. Please don’t expect a lot of mind bendy theorizing in this video – while there are some mini theories towards the end of the video, most of the topics I want to theorize are will get their own dedicated videos, so don’t fret if there’s something not covered here. Chances are it’ll show up in a future video.

  1. Furina is one of the 3 hydro achrons with Furina having 2 sides of her just like drama masks one is crying the other is happy and where the 2 dancing robot boses are there are 3 seats !!

  2. I’m now wondering, there were four kids — Alain, Rene, Jakob and Mary-Ann. One dissolved, one died, one turned to the abyss (not order but abyssal power) and one, the girl one specifically, is alive even if she’s dead and her fragment/offspring is left to figure it out for herself.
What if it’s a preview of the fate of four shades, Mary-Ann paralleling Istaroth with little oceanid Ann being like Venti.

  3. has anyone else noticed that each nation we’ve been going to the respective archon has less and less self-confidence?

also i’ve been so sus this whole time about how neuvillete talks about not understanding humans and even more so when navia didn’t even seem to react to it. i didn’t connect the hydro dragon dots til a friend brought it up then you did, but i was like “there is no way this is a human” especially with how quickly he took down childe

  4. In regards to the fountain outside the opera, the quote "so lonely" says to me to me she isn't lonely yet but fears to be. She has neuvilette and her people but her bravado makes her a mascot to them, and annoying to the iudex. "How much longer" tells me she is not asking how much longer until the loneliness is lifted, but instead how much longer until she is alone? How long until the final curtain call. Furina is doing everything she can but fear is making her do all the wrong things.

  5. I think the Final Feast trailer maybe spoiled too much, but I think a lot of people missed the implications. Arleccino stressed that the twins were actors not magicians, it really made me suspect everything the twins do during Act 1. They are only playing, acting as magicians, the entire thing is a fatui scheme. Marcel's organization owed the Fatui money, and they were trying to frame the Fatui for the disappearances, but I believe Arlecchino wanted to kill two birds with one stone, get rid of a thief and Marcel's organization. Childe is there to cause chaos and take the attention off the other harbingers. I think their end goal is to make people lose faith in the Oratrice, rendering it useless for generating power and making the gnosis worthless to Fontaine. The rest of the plans and scheme its hard to say at this point.

  6. Furina came off as really insecure to me as well. She really wants the people's approval but is very unsure of herself. She didn't even want to duel the traveler until some random person in the crowd mentioned it, and then when the traveler wasnt afraid of a god's power, she deflected saying duels are boring. Likewise in the trial in Act 1 Neuvillete took charge of the crime scene, Furina was flustered and tried to act important too. She already knew Lyney was Fatui probably and he was the obvious suspect, but even then she started to second guess herself and thought it was too early to press charges, but then the crowd agreed with her and expected her to personally take control of the prosecution. I think a blatant crime right in front of the archon with the fatui involved, there was too much ego on the line even if it was obviously bait (probably all arranged by Arlecchino.)

  7. That was such a great watch! I learned a ton that I never noticed playing through all these quests and cannot wait for the next patch now to see what they have in store! Thank you for all the great content you put out, I love watching your videos so much and love that I actually learn real history too lol

  8. I've always find the notion of "faith in an archon" to be a source of power for archons weird since how to they exactly harvest the faith of the people, up until we had the Akasha and the Oratrice. It was already stated that in order to create the false god, the people of Sumeru had undergone 168 samsaras and that the Akasha terminal was the main mode of harvest for dreams. As we know, the Akasha is powered by the Dendro Gnosis since Dottore pointed out that if Nahida were to shut it down, the gnosis no longer has a purpose in Sumeru. With that being said, it is safe to hypothesize that the gnosis collects the beliefs of the people and turns it to power for the archon to utilize and that the Oratrice is most likely powered by the Hydro gnosis

  9. I think we can say pretty definitively that hilichurls see us as human and themselves as hilichuirl because of Caribert. Sure you could argue Caribert is different but I think thats a bit too much to assume without further evidence.

  10. 49:44 that suspicious transition from a rhetorical question about who's the unknown harbinger to a clip of lyney's trailer for the closing thoughts definitely got my jaw dropping

    i can see you

  11. lyney’s way of lying is very similar from a character named solas from the dragon age series. he has a certain secret revealed only at the very end of the game, and while there are many hints (the kind you would only notice if you knew his secret) throughout the game, he very rarely actually flat out lies because he hates lying. he is not honest, but only by way of omitting the truth and using specific wording. there is only one time where he actually lies, to cover his tracks, and it shows him to be remarkably bad at lying because its clear by the way he stutters that he is hiding something.
