"it's insane how much content there is" yea it's like your playing the game after 3 years of updates, your missing the part of completing everything and sitting around waiting for the next update.
I think you'll really like it. Just got to get through the opening parts that can be a little slow as the game introduces all of it's mechanics one by one. It's such a relaxing game to play 🙂
For me i play game when i like it.. If i enjoy i play, if not im stop playing it… Gacha game if its great and i enjoy it then i will keep play it. Gambling addiction is not a problem for me, the solution is just use your logic and your brain… And your heart too.. So far the adduction doesnt infect me although i play gacha game that more worst than GI (no pity gacha, advancement lock only in gacha, char that only unlock in gacha but the mechanic for the char is needed if you want clear story more easily) so yes i think GI gacha is so mild comparing other game i played and because i play more worst gacha than GI my mentality is already establised against the deep dark rabbit hole of gacha
Which dark lore are you interested in?
The civilization frozen to death all of a sudden by a mysterious object that fell from the sky, the civilization consumed soul mind and body by eldritch horror "knowledge", the children burned alive for generations for a fake religion, or the children flayed alive to appease a bird that didn't even notice they exist for centuries until the bird noticed and got so pissed about it that it vaporized all life on the island? X,D
Hoyoverse does a great job at skirting the PG system by putting all the dark lore into the unvoiced text so whoever is checking will not have the patience for it. XD
It's just a matter of time before Zep falls for Genshin.
god no…
i'm going to subscribe when you play genshin. here we go. 😀
I quit CSGO and Dota 2 for this game and its worth quitting not for the weebs stuff but the entire part of this game.
I quit FFXIV to play Genshin, I love the game, it's amazing. You can pay, but they have an event every week almost, and they throw the premium currency at you and the story omg let me tell you… I laughed I cried, I was mad, happy. FINALLY, the Combat is absolutely the most satisfying action combat system, learning how the elements interact takes a little time, but once you catch on, it doesn't ever change. The open world is literally breathe of the wild, but the world is so vast and the regions look completely different, and it actually rewards you for adventuring out, just pick a direction and run. I've put about 250 hours in, over the last 2 months. Couple cons.. if you don't pay, the time gating on "resin" which is the resource you need to collect rewards from instanced battles you need resources from to level characters, weapons and character talents. Speaking of leveling, the only way to level characters up is by using exp books that are very limited without grinding. Also once the story is completed, it has pretty much no endgame, so the endgame is basically just the abyss(hard to explain, bi-weekly reset instanced dungeon you can gain 600 premium currency) and doing your dailies. Once you complete the story, just like most gachas, the premium currency totals you were getting during the story hit a MASSIVE drop off after the story missions, to encourage their marketing model. The summon system is very unforgiving, there's an entire "mini-game" feel to summoning that makes me feel like they are playing games with your real money for characters, too much to explain here, long story short, SAVE primos for only when you know you want a character.
On Story quality : IMO Sumeru (3.0+ content) storyline is probably the best storytelling I've seen in a video game so far … and I'm not even at the climax of it …. I've seen players claiming it has gotten better than FF14 nowadays (though I cannot judge on THAT point, I only saw FF14 story through lets-play/streams).
I like Paimon! I play with Chinese dub though
There's a difference between drawing inspiration from something and straight-up copying it.
I honestly find Genshin similar to FFXIV in many ways. Story heavy, worth playing just for the story and logging in just to do story when there's a new patch etc. (though I personally find the events worth logging in for too, some are really fun) Hope Zepla will enjoy herself playing it ^^
Genshin is a game that if you play it too much you can easily run out of things to do, theres only so many chest to open, youll have so many materials you wont know what to do with them, youll min max most if not all your characters and theres no planned end game. Its great to be new but sucks a bit to be a veteran because speaking from experience i find im always waiting for an event or update to keep playing the game. Not trying to discourage anyone just thought i should warn people of this cycle

Nice reaction!! You can have my sub!!
Zepla, we need longer videos! Be like Asmon, just put it up! There are some reaction from him that are three and a half hours long! Stop cutting that much 😛
1:40:15 that is what happened to Preach with ff14
Before playing Genshin, I've never liked exploring and I still don't like it. The only thing I am interested in games is the combat mechanics. I've played Guild Wars, FF14, WoW and bunch of other MMOs, and to me, traveling was nothing more than pain in all of those games. However, Genshin's open world is built differently. The game trains the players like dog trainers train dogs. It subtly manipulates human brain's reward mechanics in order to make players addicted to wandering around its world. There's a very subtle and insidious element about it. Normally, exploring is about finding new places, learning all about them and admiring their beauty. It is not so in Genshin. The "exploring", or whatever the game publisher calls it, mainly consists of, "oh, there is a treasure box", "huh? there's another one", "there's one more over there"… repeat this over and over and over again, until your brain gets tired of it, then you look up from whatever you were doing, and behold, there is some stunning and fantastic valley or mountain. You admire it for a bit, and it's back to reaching for the next treasure box as fast as you can and get rid of any obstacles between them, and this facet of gameplay is called puzzle solving by the way. It sure is enjoyable, because your brain is trained to find enjoyment in it. And even knowing all this, I'll still play Genshin Impact for the foreseeable future. However, I just wanted to give this warning to potential new Genshin players.
TL;DR. Genshin is fun. But the game is really manipulative and is exceedingly good at making players addicted. Just know this before you start playing it.
It was at this moment that she knew, she fked up
Spoilers – Hilichurls are Former Humans that got cursed by the gods
Brayflox is traumatizing
I wouldn’t say that Genshin lore is as dark and messed up as Elden Ring simply because the visuals don’t make it feel that dark, however it terms of basic fact, your basic actions all of a sudden becomes massively darker and really messed up on a very frequent basis. Most of your actions feel justified and commonplace but in reality while you are some scion of purity and light, your actions basically make you just a mass murderer. Also the actions of other characters (committing mass genocide, mass kidnapping, human experimentation, autocratic tyranny, etc) don’t feel super dark again simply because of the visuals, music, and Paimon. But make no mistake the subject matter is incredibly dark at some points.
Edit: The character models are Male K-pop model, male shota, Tall k-pop female adult, short K-pop teenager idol, loli/child and that’s it. Literally no actual buff men, no buff adult females (mind you the playable characters are supposedly adept warriors of some sort despite no physical mass or muscles) and loli/children that are supposedly super strong and durable with no rhyme or reason.
Spoilers:
There is a massive amount of lore that gets changed and lost forever in all ares in the 4th region of the game Sumeru. Once you complete the main story quests in Sumeru, the entire world’s lore gets changed and every character dialogue, item dialogue, etc all gets changed and if you aren’t paying attention you completely miss out on some of the most darkest parts of Genshin’s lore.
It's interesting to see so much preconceived notions about Genshin Impact the game. I came from a perspective that there is no game of such quality like Genshin Impact on multiple platforms that I'm willing to put up with the gacha.
Couple of notes: The story starts simply in the Mondstadt arc, but it is also the starting area so it kinda works to ease you into things. it REALLY starts hitting its stride when you get to Liyue, and the story just keeps ramping up. Each section of the story answers some questions and introduces so many more.
If you are a lore nerd, there is a LOT and it can get really dark in places. Yeah, there's anime girls and booba, etc, but then you have such lovely things as hanging out with the ghost of a child that turns out to have been a human sacrifice, or a father that locks his 6 year old daughter in with a demon in a bid to get his dead wife back. Genshin is worse than those other games in some ways because it will lull you into complacency, then stab you in the heart and quietly giggle as it starts setting you up again.
Character design: yes, we need more variety in the body types for the playable characters. We just got out first actually buff guy in Al Haitham. As for the older jacked up guy, we are hoping for this when they finally introduce Varka! One good thing to say about their designs: at least for NPCs, we actually see some heavier people here where their weight doesn't just code them as joke or comedy characters. Just some normal people living normal lives that happen to have some meat on their bones.
About the anime: note that it is coming from Ufotable, the makers of the Fate series and Demon Slayer!
Wooga booga booga!
My wallet has enough problems. Won’t be labeled a fat weeabo freak.
Ain’t no simping going on here and never will for any anime or vtuber ever again.
Are usually what I remind myself when I see anything genshin pop up in my recommendations. No thanks.
zepla doesnt stand a chance… her community loves genshin..the first couple days i was in her ff14 discord i ended up in a conversation about genshin for over an hour xD
The puzzles… reminds me of hogwarts legacy. I bet there was some inspiration there.
literally tried the game for 15 min a while back and simply couldn't stand the voice. yerp
why are you trying to humiliate so much a game you're probably going to play
and after you play it you realize it's good and you're going to get slapped in the face for all the times you talked bad about it?
Min-max Zepla incoming! 😂
Started playing about a week ago and just like Necrit, I got 2 5-stars on my first pull. Not a streamer or anything. It was jean and a catalyst btw.
Genshin starts great but overtime the item farming and character progression becomes hot garbage. I still value the game for the exploration and character designs, but I don't particularly think the game play has too much depth past the surface level (once you become familiar with the formula), and the story is also a bit bland to me.
Constellations only being unlockable after rolling a character more than once also feels kinda crummy.
Collei is free in C0
I don't know what it is about this game that I love watching people react to it.
I'm a FFXIV player and yet I don't care aboutwatching others playing the game… that being said… I'll be checking out your genshin videos whenever you do them. Can't wait. Have fun.
Yeah when it comes to FFXIV, one thing they could take out of a game like Rift would be the collectibles for getting people out into the world over a long time, that was one system i really liked with Rift.
That's a true league player right there, He uses diluc ability then uses an auto attack.
This guy played Riven before. kek
Damn, the grift is strong in this one
Artifacts, DESPAIR.
oh god damnit i got a genshin ad already LOL
Personally if its a choice between complex interesting stories and simpler but voice acted stories, I will take the complex interesting story every time. Voice acting adds a giant cost to every thing that uses it, and the need for it caused a lot of AAA games to not have that many actually interesting quests.
Watch the Max0r Genshin video…
…Please, nobody tell her what we've tentatively placed as the most likely nation to have been inspired by the United States. Wouldn't be the slightest bit surprised if you could get non-alchemical guns there, but… yeah.
i love this video all 3 of my worlds combines. ffxiv, League of legends, and Genshin Impact. This is the most perfect video on all of youtube
Breath of the Waifu ^_^
Paimon as a character isn't bad per say… it's just how she is used that is bad.
Paimon is very knowledgeable in the world and is quite witty and lends herself well to comedic moments…BUT all of the appeal goes out the window when she regurgitates what was just told to the party. There is literally a moment in the story where someone's identity is revealed and she goes "SO WHAT YOU ARE TELLING PAIMON IS THAT…" When she actually has original thoughts to convey and opinions towards characters in the game, she's actually pretty good. In fact, if you go to the main character's profile and listen to their voicelines, she's actually pretty sweet. Shame she can't just stay that way. Also, once you access the newest region in the game, it becomes a running gag how people hate when she keeps butting in; you see how different characters tell her to shut up, be quiet, stay out of the conversation etc. etc. because the new region is literally based on secrets, intelligence, wisdom and lies, so people are much more way and knowledgeable about things.
