  1. Wuthering Waves has a different world vibe, different relic / artifact work which is echo, and lastly the battle mechanics. This show that Kuro also develop a different game from genshin. Maybe, most genshin players never see a competitor for this past 3 years. So when there are another game with almost the same concept, they gonna called this new game as a copy of genshin. Having the same fundamental of a game doesn't make the game copied other game. We need to see it from a hollistic way between Genshin and Wuthering Waves which was clear that this 2 game have their own charateristic.

  2. The problem with people pointing these things out as some kind of contrived negative, is either they are just Genshin fans who spent too much money or time, or both and want to justify to themselves the reasons for doing so. What people fail to also realize is that WuWa is not ToF 2.0, they are a direct competition to Genshin, they are the same genre, same game design by-in-large and are attempting to capitalize on the market that Genshin holds.

The reality is, I won't make any predictions on, "Genshin killer" or what have you. But WuWa is going to compete in for market share against Genshin, you can either accept this reality or not, up to you. Making fun of WuWa, saying how, "it's just a Genshin clone" or whatever negativity you want to apply towards WuWa isn't going to detract from the impact it's going to have.

Genshin is an okay game for a casual experience, but it offers little to nothing in terms of end game challenge, a reason to push the bar on min/maxing your artifacts and the demand for having a maxed out character is simply non-existent once you are at the required amount of stats to full clear abyss consistently, it stops mattering. Granted, it's the only thing to really chase with resin, and new characters are more a luxury for fun type deal just to add some spice or flavor to your account.

WuWa is taking the bad parts of Genshin, (the gacha, the stamina cap, the frame rate) and other things, and improving on them. And it has it's own identity and it's going to capitalize on all of that.

  3. making a rock song because you listened to and liked another rock song is not copying. Copying would be if you copy the exact same lyrics and melody. It's called genre, and Kuro is making a game based on a genre, anime style, open world etc… and hello! Hoyo nor anyone owns the genre.

  4. Daddy Smack really are you dumb not all ppl have access to switch and play Zelda.. regardless how you would say that Zelda only was able get access to certain number of player base. for most ppl who got Phone during that time Genshin might be their first open world RPG… dont ever dare trivilize ppl experience as of ppl know what zelda. The level of ignorant terminology coming out your mouth know no shame. Plus genshin is mobile game at first regardless on how you would like to put it if revolutionized the mobile gaming plus it was able to be played in Console and PC…. unlike Zelda is stick to its Nintendo console.

  5. No no no, INSPIRATION AND COPYING is not same, True, BUT that's how Chinese DEVS always secured from criticism whenever they copy from popular brand, they'll say "INSPIRATION", and I KNOW for sure, there a lot of Foreign brands out there being violated by Chinese KNOCKOFFS, Cartoons GUMBALL and MIRACLE STAR, store brands like MINISO(CHINese) knockoff from Daiso, Uniqlo, Muji(JAP), Epic 7(SKOR)/Pathetic7(ChineseVer)
and when people start making commotion about Copying brand, Chinese says "we took INSPIRATION blah blah blah"
but when Foreign Copy something from Chinese they'll cause RIOT, and even boycotting the brand. F##$KING HYPOCRITES!

  8. Genshin impact players acting like 'gamers' when it's literally the only game they played in their life😂😂 (not all), Breath of the Wild inspired so many games so stop acting like GI is some kind of original when it's also a 'COPY' of another

  9. Wuthering wave isn't even in the slightest genshin copy. Wuthering wave is the combination of genshin+HI3+PGR+Pokemon+HSR. It has the same open world as genshin, it has the same QTE system as HI3, it has the same dodge&parry system as PGR, it has the same trace system as HSR and lastly u have Pokemon. Genshin is just one of the few combination. That doesn't even come close to copy.

  10. I got no cbt access but i think wuwa is copying elden ring more than Genshin interms of design .. and also bloodstained ron (created by the maker of sotn and other more castlevania sidescroll) on the echo mechanic .which made me exited because i love those type of games

  11. FYI, you can't copyright methodology which is what game UI is usually used for. Genshin and WuWa have UIs that is very common for open world RPG games.

TLDR; go to 06:10 of this video for Copyright v. Trademark law when it comes to what is considered copyright & trademarked in a game:

I play Genshin and looking forward to WuWa, but seriously people need to educate themselves before pointing fingers.

  12. It's crazy how this happens in every type of media. Something being inspired by something else should be considered a GOOD thing in most cases. When I was growing up, I was EXCITED to play games that were similar to other games that I loved. If I love something, why wouldn't I want to play something that took what I loved and improved on it? Wuthering Waves is inspired by many games and that's a GOOD thing. That's how we improve the industry and keep moving forward. There's a HUGE difference in flat out copying something vs being inspired by a certain game.

Kuro Games has shown us that they've put in the effort and love to make their game what it is today. I'm over the whole "copy" thing when it comes to game devs that put in the work to make these games and worlds that are improved upon. There are tons of straight up low effort games that will take assets, models, and story from other games, THOSE ARE COPIES and should be treated as such.

Thank you Gacha for speaking out about this topic.

  13. When I see useless debates like this I lose faith in humanity…
Even if Wuthering Waves actually copied Genshin, or Genshin copied Breath of the Wild, or Pal World copied Pokemon… what would it change for us?
99% of people on internet aren't lawyers and don't work in the supposedly "copied" games companies
And worst most of people who open their mouth don't even know how patent, copyright, licence etc work…

  14. One of the thing I see people yap about the most is the UI. And if you ask them why the UI is bad, they'll say "it's too similar to Genshin", but if you ask them is Genshin's UI bad, they'll say no. So if the UI isn't bad then why shouldn't other games adapt it? Genshin didn't invented that kind of UI either, you can find the similar UI is so many other mobile rpg, map on the top left, icons on the top right, HP Bar at the bottom mid and enemy HP bar to the top mid. You see many mobile rpg use this kind of UI because it just works very well for those type of mobile game. Why change it when it works the best.

It's the same with shooter genre, when the first shooter game came out, it's the first of it's kind, any shooter game that release during that time afterward like Doom adapted that UI. As time goes on and more shooter release, the UI also evolve to what we have now. Every shooter game these days pretty much adapted the same UI formula because it just works very well for that genre. If it's not broken then why change it ?

  15. I agreed 100% with you when you said that 98% of genshin is taken out of botw, and 98% of wuthering waves is taken out of genshin. But 2% being original does not change the fact that both genshin and wuthering waves are copies. Which is not anything new, chinese companies copying games is a tale as old as time. It's not hard to be original, its just that plagiarism is so common in mainstream gaming culture. That's why elden ring left western game developers butthurt. It just has a soul and was a game created for the pleasure and art of gamemaking, not for commercial purposes like all these Ubisoft games coming out every year that just follows the trend of what is selling the most currently. here for reference https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Br32rNMpf-s
