WOAH. I didn't expect this!! | Genshin Impact Natlan Reaction

I feel really weird about this. Cause I LOVE the designs but it just feels strange to go that much out of your way to not have other skin tones. Anyways at least I have Himeko!! Thank you for watching WOAH. I didn’t expect this!! | Genshin Impact Natalan Reaction.

  1. Iansan was revealed 4 years ago, the new characters are the focus of the teaser, not her

Leopard girl is literally under the scorching sun, didn't anyone learn anything from Kaeya's drama? like how light affects colors?

3 dark skin characters, but the keyboard warriors only focus on the girl who obviously has Spanish inspiration and the pixel art guy (he also has Aztec inspiration)

  2. I know that I’m going to get banned from the channel, but I have to say it to any one that will read this:

If the first thing you notice in a character is his skin color. You have a problem.

  4. I agree, it's just disappointing. Even if you somehow remove the fact that it's weird to use a people's culture and go out of your way to exclude a majority of its people (as someone not represented by that), it's just less visually interesting for a cast to have similar skin tones to each other. Even the tan characters aren't off much from the lighter skin tones. Especially for some character designs that might look more striking from the contrast, like Mualani or Kachina (biased). They do their homework so well on almost every other aspect and the designs are SO CUTE. Ultimately I'm not surprised because Hyv isn't really concerned with the feedback from global audiences, but it's disappointing nonetheless.

    Also. Capitano. 👀

  5. You have to understand Chinese players dont like dark skin characters almost all of them are never played by chinese community , its wierd true but it is what it is its not american studio to put all black characters to send "message" its chinese company they dont give a fuk about this , they want to sell their product and black character dont sell well in China so now you know , and if you say well but they represent other countrys yea but its ther vision they dont take real characters from history and make them white they took inspiration and make product to sell and it will sell , its fiction

  7. Thank you for talking about this we are having a big movement about it in twt if you’re willing to join us that would be so much appreciated cause, they’re a character there who’s inspired by nigerian god and he’s fking white, it’s far from being colorism and racism it’s very disrespectful and disgraceful and we’re mad, and it’s not about that character only all of them are supposed to be inspired by poc and black people (except the pyro archon) taking an inspiration from every from them except the only thing that what made people who really are and making them paper white?

  8. I feel like they need to keep the characters the same period. The characters that haven't been revealed yet, maybe make some of them or majority of them of different shades of brown starting from a medium to darker complexion.

  9. Most of the time the Chinese government seems to let Mihoyo do what they want since they bring in so much money, but since we know how much they're controlling about the LGBT scene (and Disney shrunk John Boyega on the posters for China), I can believe that they're limited the number of melanated people to stay on the government's good side.

Also, I honestly don't think they care much about Global. They listen when Chinese players make a stink, though. Bunnygirl incident, 'nuff said.
And of course, they're not gonna change the skin colour on their Himeko.

Lady Vanessa's skin isn't that dark either. More or less consistent with these.

To be fair about Iansan, she is the one character we knew about from way back with Travails .

I'm not sure anyone else does, but I treat what the Genshin Team does and what the Honkai Team does as completely different things. Even if the Honkai Team does something, there's absolutely nothing to indicate that the Genshin Team will follow suit. Otherwise we'd have consumables that let you reroll stats in Genshin .

  10. Wasn't china the country that Disney shrunk Finn on the promotion posters for The Force Awakens? And we're surprised they didn't really do brown people in their gacha game?

  11. I be honest, and have commented this in other channels.. Genshin's Liyue characters doesn't have the skin colour or physical traits of Chinese as well. So it's really not a "Characters made to look like Chinese" thing. The fact is, the characters aren't meant to resemble a race.

  12. Sadly theres gona a be a few characters with that will have dark skin, and i think that comes mostly from the fact that Hoyo is mostly controled by the chinese government, there already was some censor due the government consodered as reveling some character designs or even clothing…. So knowing that the chinese culture is preaty much racist towards anything that dont have pale skin… I see hard that we'll find some tan or dark skin characters.

  13. I always did find it strange that Hoyoverse doesn’t make black characters. It feels kinda racist, but also they don’t seem to make Hispanic, Indian, or other races either. But I mean I am not bothered by that to the point it makes me not want to play. I just don’t get it. I also hate how every female character is wearing high heels like fighting, exploring the world, swimming, and jumping off heights is not gunna break them. Can we get some boots? Maybe sandals that have no to a little heel? I dunno it bothers me. Klee seems to be the only one with an acceptable shoe for adventuring with. Kinda strange man. Whoever the designer is clearly has a fetish

  14. I love the designs so far for Natlan. Especially Mavuika/pyro Archon looks cool as heck. Just gonna add I don't think Natlan has anything to do with Africa as far as I know, it's more south America and maybe a little Australia inspired?

  15. I mean, I'm all for more melanated characters. But the thing is, they arent made to resemble a race of people from IRL. They are a native species to Teyvat. They arent humans, in the same sense that we are. They are fantasy anime characters. They have never resembled humans, other than being humanoid like us.
And even the characters in Liyue dont resemble chinese people, in any other way than their clothing.
And Mondstadt characters also doesnt resemble real life germans. Like, I dont know if you guys have ever been to germany, but there isnt 12 year old, 140cm tall catgirls running taverns. Its simply a fantasy world, and it isnt meant to serve as representation for a race, but just take inspiration from cultures around the world, in terms of architecture, clothing, food, and maybe some world history slightly resembles the irl history of where they took inspiration. No more than that. But again, with that said, im not opposed to a few more characters with Melanin.
But the people that are throwing temper tantrums about it, are going about it the wrong way. First off, blackwashing a character and calling it ''better'' is just straight up disrespectful to the artists of the original designs. Second off, boycotting by not spending on the new upcoming characters, are just gonna result in even less ''tanned'' characters in the future, thats just how this stuff works. And lastly, if they really cared so much, then 'STOP. PLAYING. THE. GAME.' It is by far the most effective way of boycotting, anything.
But well, I've said my piece. The region will release, they wont change the skin colors of already existing characters, no matter how much some people cry about it, and the people crying will eventually move on, and find something else to complain about. The cycle of modern Hoyo games, unfortunately.

  16. im a poc, heres my hot take, its not surprising natlans characters are not of dark skin color, in china colorism has been an issue let alone many other asian cultures colorism exists, when you go to china some people will say ew your skins dirty, but people are so ignorant to how other cultures are and just how things are there, we are slowly seeing more poc from games from china, but its still going to be a rare thing for along time, and they will never be super dark skinned, whats even more funny is if you point out these issues the same dumbfucks who are cryign about hoyoverse being racist, will then turn and call you sinophobic for pointing out these issues, which really does fit the global genshin community, hell look at how fast they went from going to Boycott genshin on twitter to, go f2p in genshin because they cant bear to quit playin the game
i personally dont care theres no darker skined characters because im not ignorant to how things work in those cultures, it sucks yeah but what am i going to do tell china to change

  17. I'm just tired. Hoyoverse has plenty of problems here, and I do think they should do better. Still, I like the game. I like the characters. I like the cultures presented, although I do think they should be improved upon. People who want their skins reflected in the game aren't wrong in wanting that, but some of the methods used to present their grievances are… um… Actually, let me articulate that with a question:

How does me not wanting to deal with or worry about that personally suddenly mean I hate you and your people?
