Genshin Impact is developed using Unity engine, but after this new regulation, will there be any changes?

  1. I really doubt it, Unreal Engine is a pretty good graphic system but Unity just fits Genshin's design better, same for Honkai. I don't see why they'll change it, at least in my opinion.

  2. Imagine the muscle memory of rotations and game play to the micro second and then having a game engine swap happen. Regardless it probably cant be a simple copy paste and would need to be rebuilt so i doubt it would ever happen.

More so, is the price per DL for new users or even new patch DL….also what if you install and delete constantly…how does that then even work.

As far as the mod game looks. well its nice, but looks like its 30fps. During combat I bet it goes single digits.

I use nvidia game overlay and tweak my graphic settings to add contrast, shadow and remove that glowy bloom. So I am happy with this for now. Ray trace would be great though.

  3. i don’t think because switching engines means reconstructing the game from zero and i think it has more harms than benefits and paying for unity will be a cheaper solution than a remake to genshin

  4. If they ever change the engine, it’s going to have to be planned for well in advance. Porting any game, let alone one as massive as Genshin, from one engine to another is expensive and time-consuming and I can’t imagine an ongoing game with frequent updates doing that. Even if Hoyoverse had to pay some sort of additional fee to keep using Unity, it would hardly make a dent in their profits anyway.

  5. People forget that having good and detailed graphics doesn't mean everything, immersion is also a good factor. Which is why the graphics for genshin are already good, because they're good but not overly realistic as this is a fantasy game.

  6. It has a chance to happen but the differences is going to be very minor in my opinion, the Mihoyo developers really care about the original artstyle of the game so a complete change seems unrealistic.

  7. I feel like some people forget just because its Unreal doesn't mean the game will look hyper realistic if shaders are ported/redone to match Unity's.
I think its unlikely they'll port to Unreal simply because of the cost and time and what not even though UE can perform slightly better than Unity.

  8. They'll pursue this through law. I don't think any big developer with bags of money lying on their table will allow this to happen. They would rather burn money in the court than give scumbags money as usage fees when they are already paying the premium to use the software.

  9. There is one serious problem when porting from one game engine to another
    Programming languages

    Unity supports c#
    Unreal supports c++

There are differences of those languages
You can use some c++ code in c# but you can't use c# code in c++

  10. Nah that ain't genshin no more…….don't get me wrong Unreal Engine is soooo good. People even use it for movies cuz it's very good engine but for anime games is just no. The Unreal Engine genshin looks good tho but it's just the vibe is different. It's not as vibrant because it's realistic.

  11. Some problems for players may come with a decision like this is Hoyoverse decided to one day do this, but the move will definitely cost an extraordinary amount of money as well as the time that goes with it. Mobile players will be the ones greatly affected by this to with such a powerful graphics engine. I don't believe this will ever happen though since the current engine already works too well for a company that's making billions off of a single banner each patch or rerun.
