This Genshin Impact Theory video will explain why the region of Sumeru will be destroyed.
The inspirations used to create this new region inside the game of Genshin Impact seems to hint towards the ultimate destruction of Sumeru and perhaps signifying that the midpoint of the story has been reached to signal the beginning of change inside the lore of Genshin Impact.
There are so many conceptual ideas that were used for Sumeru, but of the many, the ancient civilization of Sumer seems to fit the game very well. I will break it down to explain why Sumeru will face its downfall in the game.
What are the secrets hidden behind the region of Sumeru and how what does this mean in the overall scope of the game? We will try to uncover the hidden breadcrumbs left by HoYoverse in the game of Genshin Impact to help us get a better idea of what’s to come in the future of the story. Genshin Impact Patch, new update, new Story Quests and world quests. Visions, new bosses, new events. Tighnari is good? When will we get more, awesome super, story quest that gives us more information about the lore of Genshin Impact. High damage and one shotting bosses are great. Memes are also super funny. But the story and lore is the one of the best aspect in this game. Looking forward to Sumeru when it finally releases.

Will the story finally… GET SUPER DARK?
Let me know what you think!
Hope you enjoyed the video!
If Sumeru were to be destroyed I would be pretty sad cuz in breath of the wild one of my favorite places to chill and explore is Faron, which is a rainforest/jungle, and getting rid of a giant jungle in Sumeru would be really sad even if it were replaced with desert or something
i’m pretty sure the rainforest is a mirage created by Kusanali and the desert IS sumeru. everyone clearly still worships the original archon, they even don’t see Kusanali/Nahida no where no the level of the original archon and use the OG’s archon powers for the Aksha system.
falling star (s)
the traveler and sibling
the ice caps of the north goes through dramatic change of hundreds of years
the tsaritsa after the fall of khaenri'ah
the connections are more
If it does happen, I wish all the Sages follow the downfall of Sumeru. Then we get to keep Kusanali in our adventure team until the end of the journey (double paimon). Maybe even to other worlds. She doesn't deserve being shit on by those boomers.
a dog a cat a goldfish
thinking about the catalyze reaction with how people describe how the second archon came to be seems interesting; you damage someone (kill the 1st dendro archon) and a small dendro flower appears (kusanali appears as the 2nd dendro archon, who is also suspected to be the god of flowers) SUS
These videos are alwayz fun to watch. Gets me hyped for the story and lore 👏👏👏
We're in dire need of something tragic happening in the game. The Traveler can't keep getting away with fixing the world.
Its all good but i would really love to see in game that this Sumeru is made by Su himself not just some name similarities. And to think that Su is a psychic, Nahida or Kusanali is a psychic too, the very first character to be introduced in genshin with such ability to hijack anyones mind.
pls!, genshin story need honkaification
Damn Island when you were talking about this on stream, I was pretty hyped because the connections are spot on and could be scarily accurate(which could spice up the events in the story), but now I’m even more hyped and interested in what you’ll theorize next.
Also I’d love to hear an hour long segment of just you and other theorizers/CCs piecing historical/religious/geographical/etc. references together within the context of Genshin, and in that sense, it makes Genshin way more interesting with the added insight, but also makes us more aware that our own world is just as vast and rich in so much we didn’t know of. Anyways kudos on re-editing the video(I feel you there) and make sure to rest that big noggin of yours. 👏🏻😊
👀👀👀
Sumeru won't be destroyed.
They would have to not put any chests in Sumeru if it was to be destroyed.
Just like there was nothing on jade chamber.
There will be disaster with something for sure but it will be all good in the end.
I just want Sumerus Archon Quest to not be like Inazumas! I hope it will be good. The 3 alleged 3 patch Archon Quest seems like a green flag.
There is a moment in trailer when an abyss mage (?) talk about a complete denial while showing sumeru disapearing. I think sumeru does not exist anymore and everyone is in an illusion made by kusanali
I can confirm, that my goldfish is an inspiration for Sumeru.
i think we will get more of south east asia references in natlan because land of volcanoes
Imagine Sumeru getting destroyed and then the traveler will be put on a trial in Fontaine because of that….
sumeru is like golden apple archipelago.
Maybe we seen again the first boss (unknown god) and make a deal with her to send us again in another time line?!!
about Jueyun Karst being submerged in water back in the days I think it's because of a god that once submerged whole Liyue then Morax killed it
Personally, I don't think that Sumeru itself will be totalled. Not permanantely anyway.
Maybe the events will push for greater stress and the like but I doubt they'd remove an entire city after making sure we could fully explore it and the like (mostly because I think it would be a pain for the devs to know they are going to make an entire working city with functions and all only to later completely remove it from the game shortly after)
But I wouldn't put it past Hoyoverse to create a particularly dark moment envolving Sumeru's collapse.
My vote: The tree is going down, Sumeru will fall… but as the saying goes: "A gun that is revealed in the story is bound to be used sooner or later", the gun in this case being that Irminsul seed we see being sold in the secret auction. I'm thinking we won't save the tree… but we may plant a new one and from there, Sumeru may be restored. Kind of like how it was with the Sakura tree in Inazuma.
I'd love a 2h analysis of this lmao
I just want ch9 to happen in sumeru.
THE KING RETURNS
5:18 if catalyse has an hidden meaning in the story I think it's about Fontaine rivers that help Sumeru to grow. When you look at the rivers that goes into liyue it seems like it comes from fontaine, we can extrapolate from the map that fontaine rivers goes to sumeru has well. *
Fontaine waters catches the silt from liyue and it goes to sumeru.
*Alert spoiler leaks
The leaked map shows that a lake connects sumeru rivers and liyue rivers
I love the idea, but I think sumeru is same just because MYH don't like to make permanent changes to the environment (remember that the jade chamber was suppose gone forever but them they restore it?).
The only permanent changes in terrain today are so miniscule that are practically not existent.
(but it could be cool if, at least part of, the rain forest drain out during the archon quest. I see that giant harvester and my mind sees two points in time but the same place… It will not happen, but it could be cool)
Hi five I think the same.
If you read the Mesopotamia records you will see two group of people.
Sumeria and Akkadian. Akkadian (now people) empire take over Sumerian (khaenri'ah) empire.
The dragon could be Tiamat. Tiamat vs Marduk (Baal).
The lower and greater lord could be Igigi and Annunaki. (about this scholar is still debating)
Each city worship one god.
Pottery albedo said something about it.
Nilou feel like the priestess. Enheduanna.
4:53
not so fun fact: the person who wrote the story for honkai (which is actually finished,no he didnt just ditch honkai) is coming for genshin
yes the same guy who wrote 13 people to die again
This perfectly fits into the teaser where Nahida says everything runs in a loop. Maybe so does Sumeru. Maybe it will be reborn from seed after its destruction.
Maybe we will get the mirage mechanic to change sumeru terrain just like what we introduced from current GAA. The real Sumeru city had been long gone but everyone there trapped in a loop, like the people from Tsurumi island. The archon manage to keep everyone live in a loop using the akasha system connecting them directly to the ley line/irminsul.
My guess is that Sumeru’s rejection of the current Dendro Archon and their mistreatment of her will have a big part in the downfall of Sumeru.
It was established by Venti that an Archon’s power is measured by their ability to rule their people. Venti thus is currently the weakest, according to him.
I believe that Kusanali is likely to claim the title of weakest archon, as she is quite obviously being rejected by a majority of her people.
Now, let’s take into consideration what this means for Sumeru as a whole.
Sumeru’s grand forests were caused by the god of the woods, who died and was replaced by Kusanali.
This means that maintaining the forest is Kusanali’s job, but she couldn’t be able to do that if she didn’t have the power to sustain the forest in the first place.
And the only way she couldn’t have the power to keep the forest going would be if her people rejected her, like we see them do in the 3.0 trailer.
And that is why I believe the lack of love for the child archon is going to be the downfall of Sumeru.
I think yeah Sumeru will disappear but just like Makoto's Time travel we will plant the "shriveled seed" in the past this will grow and become Sumeru City. Btw, "shriveled seed" is a quest item that you will get from a chest on the foot of the tree in the North East of Chasm.
You can sense the honkai ptsd-
Sumeru wasn’t really here to start with, it was just a mirage to cover up the disaster following the previous archon’s death and that’s why sumeru’s people don’t really believe in kusanali as an archon.. also that dark orb in the trailer is probably a field tiller eye taken from that ruin colossus and corrupted with the powers of the abyss which is why that electro lector was in the trailer
Zhongli drank all the water that's why he keeps laughing 😱😱😱😱😱😱😧😧😧😮
It's been a while since your theory video. And this one certainly was worth the wait.
yes yes yes… this is about the time we "fail" saving a nation
there is some guy that theorize sumeru is a mirage(not gonna say the name) and the people there is having a "deep dream"(a conversation with mysterious voice from dodoco) and i personally like this theory where sumeru is a mirage in the "Desert of ignorence" because the trailer said "A god of wisdom enemy is wisdom itself" would be good if we actually gonna destroy the irminsul trees, the source of wisdom that are connected to God of Wisdom. There is a point that also gonna make this theory fit, that there is a line said "Adult in Sumeru can't have a dream" but idk tho, child still can have dreams i guess. So excited if we actually fight the God of Wisdom haha
MY CAT? DEHYA
What if the water that used to submerge Guyun Stone Forest was used to create the rainforest of Sumeru? 🤔
Comment
Came for a theory video, stayed for the history lesson
Damn…the Abyss order really aren't playing around..they really want to destroy the 7 nations
Sumeru is gonna burn just a little feeling
U know what guys? Dottore. Mad doctor scientist kinda of guy? Yeah him. Dottore. Sounds like he would steal snacks anytime. He looks the type to and would do it. 🤭🤣
Guys,we were just in a dream all this time. Considering leylines are practically memories preserved by time. Teyvat isn’t real. The people we love or hate (timmie’s pigeons 🤣), aren’t real. OMG,what a crazy theory. Dream theory is before us. Then wouldn’t Scaramouche’s line about the “Sky being a lie”,would make sense no? This is just a thought.
