Zhiqiong is one of those rarer NPCs that change the way you look at the entire world building of Genshin Impact. She highlights the ending plot of Genshin Impact the reason behind Khaenri’ah’s existence. She also asks some important questions about visions and why only some people get it.   1. Should She Receive a Vision?

    Her character exists to show the difficulties of non-vision bearing mortals. So no, her getting a vision would defeat the purpose of her existence from a world building perspective.

  2. I actually fine it interesting that you compare her to Benny when I'd saw in the pursuit of being remembered and carving out of place for herself in history she'd be closer to Noelle. This is the girl that went to Dragonspine on her own to rescue someone and this is before she had her Vision. This target pursuit of trying to prove yourself is what makes me compare them more than to Bennett.

  13. Having read her letters, I understand her motive and her feelings but I can't sympathize with her. She is so stubborn and her actions are dragginf everyone around her. Besides, there are other ways to cement your achievement and actually making changes than jumping on a suicide mission that will lead you to dying and leaving nothing behind, making everyone eventually forgets about you. Most people who were rewarded with visions have reached their lowest point where they're barely hanging on a thread but they still strive and hold onto that sheer hope and prove their worth. So those people arent just born with visions and blessed by powers since birth in convenience, but they fought their way.

    Beidou slayed the sea monster before she received her vision right? This proves that with strong will and hard work, anyone without a vision can make such a great feat with long lasting impression. Though it is arguably harder. And really, to make amazing discoveries, she doesnt necessarily need to kill herself or be a vision bearer.

    Honestly? Rather than babysitting zhiqiong id rather see more perspective of that fatui girl than her. Zhiqiong is goddamn annoying. If only she werent so hard headed and short sighted

  17. (Sorry for the long text)

    If I may, this sort of question was once played out in Liyue's region if you hunt those special treasure vault things (the ones that are a plate on the floor with energy flowing out of it)

    In it, we follow the story of two individuals with similar goals: "to be able to defeat monsters because they are evil and a threat".
    During this one of them succeeds but other doesn't, similar to Bennet and Zhiqiong.

    Now, what exactly happens? The one that gets his vision actually has an interesting turn in regards to his goal, he gained his vision but now questions if the monsters truelly are evil or simply acting in their nature, he begins questioning what he considered and starts renewing his point of view.

    On the other hand the other one, the one who didn't simply held to the ideal that all monsters should die and still pursued that ideal. From what we can gather, he never received his vision… and to top this story off: both knew each other and both were friends (were because it feels like they split up).

    Why is this important? Because in the end both Bennet and Zhiqiong have similar goals and similar actions and behaviours, yet one received a vision while the other didn't. We know that visions are their dreams and ambitions made manifest but not everyone can attain them. Also consider that people believe the Archons grant visions yet we know now that is not true… we also know that Kaeya, a surviving Khaenri'ahn, is eligible for a Vision.

    I honestly believe there's more to this than it would seem, a hidden quality that makes Visions a reality. Also note that she claimes the blessed ones receive theirs by chance, I feel like this is more telling on what she's considering. That maybe she feels like wherever or wahtever is granting this Visions is being unjust and that all are deserving. And all though that is a fair notion, it is also a dangerous one. Yes you can have someone do a dangerous job, but what of who they are? She mentions the herb gatherers that hung on the cliffs and receive no vision, Qiqi was one such individual and she received hers near the end of her life. Putting this into perspective, I think that it is not the Gods that grant these visions directly… but perhaps something needed within the very person to activate it.

    Perhaps Zhiqiong hasn't received hers yet because she simply hasn't reached that point yet. And as it seems, all visions have a reason to appear on specific people: Anemo on people who value Freedom the most, Geo for people who understand the value and honour of a deal or contract, Dendro for people who view and understand the world and become wiser for it and etc.. perhaps Zhiqiong's closer to understanding herself and gaining hers… but also being so close to the Abyss that seems to toy on the ambitions of others as hinted when you ascend its floors… who's to say she will understand it if she further descends and not be warped by it?

So in enkanomiya the structure of the upside down city in the chasm is very similar to the ruins. but thats not my point, the question i am asking is about the enkanomiya event with tsumi. when we went to each pillar to like cleanse the darkness, it had symbols of the abyss. i was wondering if we were to translate the symbols, what would ot translate to and if you put it together, what would it spell if anything?

  20. Imagine if Hoyoverse decide to make her a playable character… Change the desing just a bit and give her an origin story with this. At the end of the day she was really persistent with her dreams, is not imposible for her to meet the requisit to have a vision

  22. Unfortunately, just like in real life when you lose contact with someone, you can only wait until you see them again, and hope for them to be allright util then.
    I really wish to see her again in the future.
    For now,. let's just wait and hope.

  23. I have to disagree. Shes an idiot and her letter only helps her come across as a bitter spitful child angry that she wasn't "chosen by the gods"

    Theres something to be said for pushing yourself but to do so aimlessly and recklessly is foolishness, not courage. It would be on thing if she prepared and took care of herself but but shes on a deathmarch just because shes worried that her vain desire to be remembered isn't coming fast enough. All of this would reflect better on her if she wasn't so stupid about how shes approaching it. Frankly speaking the only way shes going to survive this is plot armor by the grace of Hoyoverse. Though since Hoyoverse is a fan of tragedy she may just be found dead in a later update.

  25. There's also the possibility that she survived the Chasm, fell into the Abyss but didn't join them, instead she hid and tried to survive. Her not having a vision also adds her the bonus that the Abyss Order wouldn't care about her. Then when we finally go to the Abyss (in around 6-7 years from now, lol) we meet her again and she once again gives us a complete version of the map (since I don't expect a statue of the seven down there). That would make a very interesting story and make it a hella interesting come back from an npc. That would also let her name be remembered for a very long time. Zhiqiong, the first human to venture the Abyss, map it and return alive. I would love that.

  26. Now that you mention it, i wonder if, at the end of the game, would visions disappear to make this world an equal world (Just like Howthe Honkai disappeared in Honkai impact 3rd) or visions would start to be more common in this world?

  28. in the event, there was this thing where i actually got to talk to zhinqiong on the event where albedo made a painting of venti, i randomly pressed the f key while there was a cutscene where we are put into a perspective of someone being sneaky, but doesn't really see them. and when i pressed the f key, zhinqiong's old dialogue was there. i mostly thought it was a glitch, but how could zhinqiong be there? i only got to ask here one question tho, but after the cutscene ended i could'nt reach her anymore, quite strange i even screenshoted it if any one was interested in seeing it.

  33. i dont want to raise my hope so …. i just accept that she already death after reading her letter and the frostglaze description….. her letter just feelt like a last will, the one that make me sure is the map, why she left the unfinished map not the copy of it if she still continuing her jurney? it feel like she want people to see her last legacy. this tyipical what mihoyo doing making likeable character, make people sympathy with them at least in genshin it only NPC, not playable one and then give them a tragic death.

  36. She is a Fool. But not in a way you may think.

    If you heard of Tarot cards, then you may agree she is a Fool in a different aspect.

    The Fool Tarot card while being upright represents, beginnings, innocence, spontaneity, a free spirit

    While the card being upside down means, holding back, recklessness, risk-taking.

    Not to mention she can also be considered on a Fool Journey. She is looking forward to her journey, no matter the concern it may lead to.

    Here, let me just post the description of the card and the Fool Journey meaning.

    It goes like this: On The Fool Tarot card, a young man stands on the edge of a cliff, without a care in the world, as he sets out on a new adventure. He is gazing upwards toward the sky (and the Universe) and is seemingly unaware that he is about to skip off a precipice into the unknown. Over his shoulder rests a modest knapsack containing everything he needs – which isn’t much (let’s say he’s a minimalist). The white rose in his left hand represents his purity and innocence. And at his feet is a small white dog, representing loyalty and protection, that encourages him to charge forward and learn the lessons he came to learn. The mountains behind The Fool symbolize the challenges yet to come. They are forever present, but The Fool doesn’t care about them right now; he’s more focused on starting his expedition.

    Edit: While some part of it could be debated. She clearly represent the spirit of the dream to be more as the Fool does. She just question things on her journey, as you should do when your traveling and learning. All in all, she on her way to be something more.

  44. people say she's stupid and label her as an idiot all the time but I think her ambitious nature and stubbornness made her one of the most interesting character in the game and I really love her determination.. she was the perfect example of bearing a vision but alas, gods didn't gaze their eyes upon her 😭
