  4. I see local tournaments use Shenhe, Chongyun and another character like Zhongli (Its a 3 person party vs. a World Boss, its about who can kill them faster) Its seriously really great cause everyone is doing big damage…its a substitute if Ayaka is banned

  5. Chongyun is way to op in CBT3, which get him nerfed to death on game release. Xiangling get nerf with ER, but not that much of the problem now with Shogun and new artifact set.

  6. 10:17 I think Hydro is way more expensive than Cryo.

    Cryo at least has very good four star options (Diona and Rosaria), Chongyun and Kaeya are usable, Hydro only has a very good one for early game and a very good one for late game.

  9. The biggest problem I have with Chongyun is the painfully slow windup on his E animation. He doesn't place it down immediately, he does this long arcing jump swing that is interruptible.
    I tried bringing him into 2.6 Abyss as a ringer vs. hydro herald / electro lector, thinking cryo infused normals could help with shield breaking.
    However, what actually happened was that I would constantly get knocked out of his E after casting but before it could actually deploy the field. Super infuriating.
    Maybe this is just a skill issue ™, but this is why I can't play Lisa either. I'd rather run better characters that can cast their stuff quickly so I have more comfortable room for error.

My OG team back then when i still on low AR was Zhongli (shield), Xingqiu (support), Chongyun (sub-DPS), and Yanfei (main DPS) and at that time this popsicle boi slapped harder than my Yanfei's stamp. Now, he is getting overpowered by my other DPS (Yanfei, Ayato, and Ayaka) 😓 But (thanks to Ayato), i recently try a new team consist of Zhongli, Yunjin (C6), Chongyun, and Ayato. People usually use Jean instead of Zhongli for this team but i don't have her 😅

  20. I just started playing genshin like a month ago. Chongyun is the first 4 star i got since i first pulled on the normal banner rather than noelle's. So I still use him as meh main. One thing I can say for sure is the number of times he gets interrupted bcoz of his slow attack. Trust me, it gets frustrating. Probably a problem all Chongyun main face. He probably needs a shield char as a support in the team.

  33. Im one of the few that absolutely loves chongyun, because I play based on the characters whose design/looks I like. Also, despite him being not that well built, he still does good in my combat. I'm gonna build him better eventually

  34. He was my first 4* and my first main. I gave him all my love, effort and i still think he is my favorite characters. But he is very limited and i stopped using him. I do world exploration with him for kicks but my baby can't go into abyss

  35. long before I have ganyu and ayaka I used both chongyun or kaeya as my main dps cryo in abyss, I have chongyun at c6 with talent 9-12-12 artefact only 2 blizzard and the rest is random only with att on sands, cryo on goblet, and crit on circlet, also weapon blackliff r1. even tho his att stat is only 1650 at his lvl 90, crit 68/173 he can dealt good damage, I usually paired him with two comps, 1st comp : chongyun, kaeya, xingqiu, zhongli, or 2nd comp : chongyun, bennet, xiangling, diona, if the second one came in, usually I put xiao, venti, zhongli and barbara (with thrilling tales) and yeah, it's a chef kiss
    about the damage chongyun alone can dealt 18k on skil, aa 3-6kk per hit and burst 15k per sword hit, but if he has cryo resonance the attack added up up til 5k per what I said above, but if there's pyro resonance, chongyun can make a melt by 44k per skill, if the sword fall it hit 18k and burst is 21k, I make him as sub dps, his skill is also fast even with his buff at c2, now I have ayaka I change my comp to chongyun, ayaka, xingqiu, venti or kaeya, xiao, barbara zhongli <3

  40. I really like how you mentioned character exposure as a factor for a character's popularity. It's something I think about a lot and personally wished miHoYo worked a bit more on, as someone who plays the game for an equal balance of character traits and usability.

I would like to point out that in his passive talent, when his skill ability ends and attacks an enemy with a final blade, it reduces that enemy's cryo resistance, which is why the sacrificial greatsword is probably chongyun's best in slot as a support character. It's not perfect as it's harder to pull off, and ONLY reduces the cryo resistance of the enemy that was hit, as opposed to other supporting skills being less conditional, but it's worth noting.
    And the fact that he has a short CD burst with very low energy costs helps him utilize 4 pc nobless really well.

    I never gave chongyun the time of day until I played his hangout event, which I find to be one of the most amusing hangouts to play so far, and I thought he was really sweet. Didn't take long for him to be one of my top favourites.

  42. This makes me nostalgic and also sad… theres so much characters (esp the ones in the beginning) that doesn’t get much love and as more and more characters come out… they get buried

  48. I think part of the thing with these videos, which you reminded me of when you brought up Lisa, is that even the "worst" characters have niches. Like you say that adding Lisa to the team isn't as viable because overall she takes away dmg (paraphrasing). But she can also provide thrilling tales and is a good support for Eula. Xinyan in a bubble is pretty all over the place, but she can be a tenacity buffer and carry wolf's gravestone for the passive. Chongyun can also carry WGS for that passive, provide CD reduction and speed etc whatever. The thing is that it seems these characters actually have use that others don't want to invest in them because there are simply easier or faster ways. Like yes, Raiden national is the most op, Morgana is op, etc etc but not everyone can get those characters or wants to play them, has the best stats to optimize them, the list goes on. I'm starting to think that it's less of hoyoverse not thinking of these characters and more of them being really big brain on how some of them can truly be used in wacky teams. However still disappointed in the apparent possibility of them rushing content/characters/etc to fit a timeline. Like I know that freedom sworn is Jean's EM best in slot but it still was paired with and is also Kazuha's, it was marketed as his, yet he has no connection to Mondstadt at all. After the theory about Miko and Yoimiya…

  49. I haven't watch the video yet but Chongyun is one of my first 4-star characters and I play with this boy since getting him in summer 2021. The whole my team changed completely – except for Chongyun. He is not as strong as Mona, he doesn't have a Zholgli's shield, he can be a problem to my physical damage Xiao and still I love him more than every other character. When people say 'you are stupid don't use weak characters' I want to say that we are playing in a waifu-gaming type of game.

    /some people advice to use Chongyun with Xingqui but I don't like this abuser😡/
