Banner leaks are the greatest thing it can happen for an F2P player. So I’m 100% in favor of any and every leak regarding the banners. The ones regarding new characters I couldn’t care less. But when it’s the story leaks that’s where I draw the line. I like enjoying the story tbh.
A PTR, rather than a closed beta, would be so good for both creators and the community. Mihoyo might think it would give them less money, though, so it will likely never happen. The game runs on FOMO, and if the average consumer was more aware of what's in the pipeline, they would be less likely to impulse buy top-ups.
Everybody saying about banner Leaks, but mtashed is saying about character kit leaks
I am fine with character kit leaks. However iam not fine with story leaks.

Hoyoverse is the biggest leaker, first they leaked Katherynes death in the Live Stream now the whole patch including the boss fight. Its so anticlimactic. Mihoyo please stop Hoyoverse from spoiling your story. Who cares for character leaks, story spoilers are much worse. Especialy when they say this game is about the story and not endgame. Cough.
Someone needs to make a "Weekly Anxiety Report". Use this Meme and throw it in Hoyoverse face once a week every week for several years until they fix the endgame, fomo and forced daily logins.
The "Weekly Anxiety Report" doesn't even have to be sad, make it satirical fun. Use whatever fits the metaphor. Count the events and give points for anxiety and casuals.
The only leaks I seek are banner leaks. Anything else I couldn't care less about.
Whoever did this should be jailed. Oh and also, mhy is well known for scrapping everything and rebuild everything from scratch – which means for us average players expect delays and sunken cost of our gacha money.
I agree that leaks are important to any Gacha game so that F2P players and low spenders can pull on things they actually want and have something to look forward to.
For Genshin, unless there’s a whole new mechanic/system that will revolutionize the way we play the game, it’s basically all the same: New characters, new weapons, new story, new areas, new enemies, new artifacts. It’s the same loop, so people kind of already know what to expect, it’s just a matter of when. Now, if the new TCG mode actually affected gameplay in someway, like maybe give certain characters certain permanent buffs perhaps? That would be interesting.
was hoping hyv to implement leakers hunt decree again. Sure, the leaks hype up the community, but it kills the content when the actual stuff officially releases.
I understand for F2P there is a lot to gain and nothing to lose. But for anyone who has spent money on this game, these kind of leaks directly mean a loss because mhy has to fight leakers using our gacha money – something could have been otherwise used on making the game better.

The only leaks I’ll ever look at are the banners only. The stories, new region, new enemies leaks are the ones I’m staying away
I had people join my world, we had fun, fought some bosses, and they did nothing but talk about leaks. They didnt even ask if it was ok? Like it is the absolute norm in the community to actively seek out leaks and openly talk about them in game or online forums. I personally looked up what mats nahida will need afew days ago, so I can prefarm, but I wont be talking about leaks to others in case they dont want to keep up with them. Like if you see a video : Full balladeer kit leaked" You can just not click on it, you know?

Maybe it sucks for a content creator, but for a player, leaks keep the game alive to me. Knowing what to look forward to instead of having zero knowledge of the future is a lot better.
The problem about leaks is not that people know about everything, it's that they think they know about everything. Especially when it comes to character kits.
I remember back when Raiden was released, people still don't fully know how her kit works for a while. I remember people bitch about her low burst auto attack multiplier, turns out with the right build the damage output is at least 2-3 times higher than predicted, even higher with c2-3. People bitch about her 11sec burst downtime, turns out it's actually around 9sec and can be further reduced to 8 if you know the right charge attack timing.
And before Raiden, people claim that Kazuha is a trash unit and then bitch about missing out on Kazuha. People also bitch about Kokomi but somehow she went form being hated to being worshipped. Almost every release, there's going to be a group of people talking like they know everything but turns out they're wrong about at least half of it. Leaks just further enable these kind of toxic behaviors.
The title should be why leaks are bad for mtash, sorry dude I love you but I disagree with you on this
Banner leaks are ok but everything else is just absurd, leaking the character's entire kit and everything is just gonna create false expectations and make it worse for devs cause any adjustments they make will now be met with heavy criticism.
Not to mention leaking whole maps or something like that. Definitely not good and takes away from enjoyment of the game.
Especially now with shorter versions and new archon quest coming out, there's not even an excuse that the leaks are there to keep the hype going.
best advice is to just do your thing and ignore what other content creators are doing, if you have a vision for a series of videos or whatnot just do it without regard to leaks or whats already been "theorycrafted" plenty of room for stuff when you don't give a fuck.
Its "common secret" at this point. So when u accidentally see it, just keep it to yourself. At least that way its stopped at us, not shared to others 🙁

I agree with mtashed completely banner leaks and character kit leaks are the worst I open my yt and there's leaks in the thumbnails that urges me to watch them cuz ik everyone else is watching it too and I've already been spoiled that these characters are coming. Live stream would have been so much fun if I knew nothing before hand nahidas burst would have left me speechless and scaramouche boss would have literally killed me and more interested to play the game than already being spoiled lessening the hype. What hoyo should prioritise the most rn is to stop these leaks they are destroying the game itself we know everything which is coming and when it comes we are not that interested anymore
Leaks are great for consumer but not for creators. The creators are always expected to be ahead on news and information in which to translate and disseminate to the consumers. If the consumers are ahead of the creators then their videos have less impact and attention. The further Mtashed is from the new info, the harder it is to make meaningful content out of it. Its always too easy to capitalize on drama and opinion because it does not require being ahead of the flow of information.
I need the leaks tbh, helps me control and plan my rolls. And not go deeper and deeper into anxiety fearing I cant get Yae Miko, Eula, Hu Tao, Kokomi, Zhongli etc etc basically someone I want that ive failed 50/50 on before
I don't understand what's the issue with leaks😅 I have a hectic job and would like to just play Genshin knowing what's coming so I prioritise what to invest my limited time farming in the game

I feel like the Genshin community is so toxic, i love to check out some small character cleaks or rumours once every month but its so gross how people just hate on every character that isnt even in the game yet, and the people incredibly mad about primos are usually sharks anyways so i dont see the point in complaining, and the fact basically the entire Sumeru map was leaked really suprised me, i was fairly new to the game a few months ago so seeing so many leaks I thought something had happened and it came as a shock that this huge bundle of leaks was normal in the community, we judge everything too quickly and basically take the hype away from Hoyoverse and immediately critique Content that is barely even 10% done at times, i hope Hoyoverse one day finds a solution, leaks are great and all for small info so you know a bit about what to expect but we basically know everything that will happen the next update, its so hard to get away from leaks too even if you dont want to find any
Yeah banner leaks are awesome it helps me plan who im gonna get and who I'm gonna skip but yeah I'd rather not get story leaks but even as alight spender I can't just blow all my primos on a banner if I know I want a future character especially if I want someone's weapon I need to make sure I have 240 pulls for that weapon banner incase I lose which I did twice on Kazuhas banner but I still got his weapon so it was all good in the end thanks to these leaks I now know to skip Nahida because Al Haithim is suddenly coming in 3.4 i have about 40 wishes if I farm all the Sumeru chests and do all the events which each patch gives around 50 wishes worth of primos and I buy the big pack which has been doubled I'll have plenty of wishes for Al Haithim and his weapon but if I didn't read these leaks I may have pulled on Nahida and had less primos for Al Haithim so leaks are good for that reason and that reason only
We really need HYV's new games to come out because genshin is not fulfilling our needs anymore. Abundant leaks, toxic community, combat and endgame is being neglected(which is fine if ur casual and story enjoyer but you can't make your characters use weapons, and artifacts and not make them strong). Their new games could potentially calm down the two sides and finally have their own bubbles and also finally avoid controversies between the two sides.

Another way to look at it that people are so motivated about leaks, because there is nothing to do in the current game.
Only good leaks are leaks about future banners, other leaks are unnecessary

the only reason i hate leaks is that when it's on twitter, some fake outrage comes up and hoyo (most likely) notices the bs and changes the "leaked" content.
I do think it's bang out of order that some content creators get access to a private, pre-release server, but not everyone. It's total favouritism to the ass-kissers. I know Gatcha Gamer has access to that server, and he puts out highly detailed guide videos literally THE MINUTE an update goes live and a new character becomes available. It's completely unfair to other content creators, and it's one of the reasons I avoid those videos of his like the plague (another reason being that he's an utter meta slave and has a completely unbalanced view of the game due to being a whale with god tier weapons and artifacts etc. I can't take his opinion seriously)
