why four star characters are getting WEAKER | Genshin Impact 3.0

Your favorite four stars are getting weaker. But it’s not for nothing, because there are very important reasons and also interesting things to consider that I think many players forget about regarding this topic. So, this video will explain EXACTLY why four star characters are getting weaker and weaker in Genshin Impact as time goes on.

  1. BIG DISCLAIMER: I am NOT trashing on the characters themselves, I love them all ofc ha ha ha ha ha 😏 I’m simply pointing out their lack of notability and usefulness as opposed to other 4 stars, and WHY it isn’t actually a bad thing.

also editing glitch at 4:03 – that thumbnail is from my video, not sevy’s , idk how that swapped

  2. I think collei's role is just to filled up the same role type as amber, which is exploring and puzzle.

you know that it far easier to solve dendro puzzle in openworld with dendro bow user than a dendro sword user.

I know its kinda replacable by tighnari if you have him, but again tighnari isn't dendro support, so collei still filled this really niche role for now until we got better support dendro bow user

  4. Honestly for an honorable mention I wanna point out Yun Jin & Gorou those 2 4*s went from being completely obsolete to being meta defying characters. Nobody knew that yun jin was a NA exclusive buffer until they paired her with yoimiya , eula , or ayato and she’s literally on par with a well invested benny for certain team comps. Then gorou made geo a staple for a mono geo team considering he buffs the living hell for itto I’m hoping we get a CA buffer for xiao one day

  5. bruh this whole debate is getting so tiresome. at what point in the game you need 4 stars to be stronger than they already are. Okay starting from the beginning OG 4 stars are nothing more than a mistake. They should not be this strong and the fact they are is probably one of the worst mistakes mihoyo has even done adn im sure they are deeply ashamed fo that but whats done is done and theyve been doing good job at not making new ones so absurdly strong. Now do they even need to be stronger? Of course not. There is no content in the entire game that would require them to be more powerful and that includes Abyss. Modern 4 stars are strong enough and because theyre strong enough they dont need to be buffed in any way if anything OG ones need a massive nerf because quite frankly im sick and tired of Bennett Impact featuring Fischl and Surcrose on every single team in existance like for the love of all archons you just cant escape these three go on any team building video on yt and these three will be featured like bruh its been 2 years now its time to move on already lmao Nerf OG 4 stars and unironically you will see people using modern 4 stars more because they wont' be so fixated on Bennett and Fischl anymore.

  6. Honestly I think Collei is decent character. You know when that one statement that DMC have consistent Dendro application? Yes that true but also don't forget that they have 80 ER cost. I build them with 239 ER with Sac sword still not consistently do their burst on switch lmao so that's why I pair them with Collei for their energy problem…

or this is just me not catching all of those green particle.. in other word yea skill issues kekw

  7. I'd like to point out that the "why use Collei when dendro MC exists and is better" only is a valid argument for players who have access to Sumeru. Yeah you can just walk into Sumeru, but you have to unlock Liyue first and then work your way all the way to Sumeru. This is a task early players may not be able to complete for a while. I remember not being able to venture into some of the more outlaying Liyue areas as an early player because the enemies were too difficult to fight. It's not unreasonable to assume that they may end up getting Collei from spiral abyss (since HV announced during the livestream we get a copy of her from it starting with 3.1) long before they make it to a Sumeru statue of the seven. I also feel like HV is playing the long game. They know what their final character roster is and them releasing future characters that make older clunkier units relevant feels like what is going on here and would be the best way to keep the game play interesting and new without making units released at the start (or mid point) of the game obsolete near the end of it's lifespan.

  8. Ah yes, another flaw with that logic is you can't level the new underpowered 4*s until you get to their respective regions, so new players are still gonna play the same early game. Lots of simps coming to the game for a character rush the main story and then ask why they don't like genshin lol

  9. To be honest, for new players it's better to use starglitter on Xingqiu, Beidou, Fischl, Benny, Roseta and etc, than to pull for the current Sumeru 4 stars. Even a C0 Fischl provides so much more quality of life than Dori, for example.

I agree sidegrades are the good option, but Dori and Collei are really downgrades at this point (which hurts so much to admit… I adore Collei, but she's really unnecessarily weak)

  10. I dont think its weird for Collei to be weaker than DMC since lore wise, MC should be way stronger than her. Also, even when MC's other elements are quite viable, many players still choose not to use them, thats why making their dendro version better than Collei is a good thing since many players are either forced or motivated to use them more.

  11. I agree with the point that older players crave to feel as a new player again. It’s more satisfying to clear with Raiden, Traveler, Collei and Dori than clearing abyss under 2 minutes per floor. I like them, it makes you improve your skills too 😂

  12. i dunno but my 4 stars are pretty on the same level as my high dmg 5 stars… it depends on ur build, weapons and playstyle. I rarely uses dendro unless there's a puzzle or rock to unlock. My Dori has redhorn stonethresher and I uses her dps and 52k dmg is already pretty gd for a 4 star like Dori.

  13. The 4* rebalance is what it is, but man is it gonna be a HUGE problem for newer f2p players. It's gonna be so hard for them to catch up to the abyss DPS check, which has been steadily increasing every reset. With so many 4*, the odds of pulling a specific meta one are lower, and the investment rate of an f2p is so much slower that 36* will essentially become a distant long-term project. It will require judicious saving of starglitter for the monthly shop, catching the right reruns, and a lot of luck on 4* pulls and artifacts. On the flipside, maybe this will nudge f2ps to not bother so much about abyss, but more likely it will just create more pressure for them to spend. Hopefully content creators can make guides on maximising the niches of these new 4* to help f2ps build them well and still have fun wherever they are.

Also about Collei – she's the perfect Sumeru intro unit, just like her inspiration Amber. Ranged Dendro application for puzzles, and a nice gliding passive, plus a compelling emotional hook introducing travelers to the region's cast. Not really meta (yet?) but story-wise pretty key.
