  1. I’ve only spent $100 & 3 welkins on my acc and I can already 36* spiral abyss. I won’t top up anymore but will buy welkin if I don’t have enough to get the character that I really want.

  2. I used to spend money in the game but it's going too slow. They are also spending less then 0.06% of the money they make from the game ON the game.

Imagine if they spent even 2% of the money they make on the game to improve it

  3. Every survey I ask them to add a Floor 13-15. I think that'll be much better than making 9-12 harder each time which puts off newer players who must feel like they're chasing a carrot on a stick >_< My hope is that they'll make more changes once Dendro is out as that'll be the final piece of the puzzle, hopefully something like 3 team Abyss for Floors 13-15?

  4. I’m AR 58, a Welkin/BP player and I’ve just recently 36 stared the abyss for the first time. I was happy and proud of myself, still am, but after you’re done the accomplishment feels kinda hollow. Like all that effort for what, another 50 primos and 20000 mora? I personally wouldn’t ever wanna whale just to get that.

  5. Agree wholeheartedly, and this is not just an issue with the banners! I think that the BP and shop are an absolute joke at this point, I mean they did not even bother changing those up after the first year?? I started on Xiao's first banner, just bought welkin + BP until I got to a r5 serpent spine and now I have ZERO desire to spend the $10 on a BP for <10 wishes and some more gold/books. Now I am seriously considering dropping welkin too because as SDK points out, what is the point? I have most 4 stars C6, all the 5 stars I have wanted, and good weapons for everyone = done!

Time to try harder hoyo, because your competition is coming up fast and they will not sit on their butts expecting the next waifu to make a $100 million for them.

  6. I use my disposable income and will get a 5* to C1 or C2, get their signature weapon R1 and call it a day. I’m to the point where I’m starting to feel like it’s not worth it in the end. Ain’t much to do but play Abyss and in the open world, my teams melts through everything and it becomes brain dead. Been playing since Childes last rerun. Hoping for EGC soon man.

  7. the current event is a good example, to get max rewards we need 2000 points, not really hard or challenging.
What's about those from us who reached 3000 4000 5000 points, absolute no bonus, extra rewards.

This event shows it really good, whaling is for the trash bin, extra rewards? Hoyoverse is happy there are enough players out there who spend mindless money in their game, but as always they are greedy to honor this

  8. Your argument is q double-edged sword, i do want something more exciting than playing for a 15min daily and flak out to play other games. But what i don't want is content strictly for the whales.. I'm a happy low-spender and wanna stay like that xD

  9. A lot of the giga whales/krakens do it just because they are lucky enough to be extremely financially stable. At that point, the money isn’t much of an issue to them. It’s likely not the only game they whale on either

  10. I've talked about this endlessly since ZL first release. People spending money on a character and then asking for buffs. Dude you are not forced to buy any characters, and you get a trial before you buy. If you decided to buy it, don't complaint about it later. And it's the same with content. As long as we keep giving them money, it will never change

  11. i don't whale (i… "dolphin"?) but the principle might be similar as to why anyone would spend money on the game. when i'm not playing genshin, i work a regular job, i'm a co-founder at a growing start-up, i'm pursuing my actual artistic goals (actor/ reluctant writer & director), i'm training to potentially have a fight or two before i'm too old (💀 ), and i have other hobbies like music, calligraphy, reading, education, investing, etc., in addition to the other life responsibilities every adult has.

my sanity is long gone so one of the ways i cope is playing like 30 min of genshin in the evening as a form of escapism, which is about all i have time for anyway. spending to get a couple constellations or a weapon every so often, which i only do because i can comfortably afford it, enhances that escapism for me without needing to spend as much time farming for shit to get a character to an enjoyable power level, which mean i have more time to build new characters, which diversifies my possible gameplay experiences. i imagine if people are spending they can (hopefully) also comfortably afford their expenditures so the cost of getting that experience isn't as significant as it seems to a f2p, and sometimes that experience can mean a lot… does for me anyway and i highly doubt i'm unique 🤷‍♂️

never grow up, yall. it's the worst.

  12. It's too late, Genshin's future is concrete and funded for the rest of it's >intended< lifespan. Hoyoverse doesn't want to spend anymore time on Genshin than is absolutely necessary. They want to "save the world"… no Kap. Genshin has provided them with enough money that they no longer have to care about it. We could all stop spending money on it tomorrow and they'd be like…"already got your money, thanks" and then they'd go on with their lives. They poured 62mil into a nuclear power startup, some think to have unfettered access to a stable power grid, but not to run Genshin servers. For Sure.
I've never spent more than $15 a month on anything entertainment related. I can only imagine whether or not I would "Whale" if I had the dispensable income. It's possible, but not likely. I've never felt the need to disparage those who have the capital to spend on their own enjoyment, but I Do agree with the sentiment. Genshin only has "GACHA" value for those who aren't making money off it in a secondary market (content creators).
No value in super powerful 5* when they're only rewarding 3.75 wishes and a handful of resources, every two weeks, in the Abyss. not even official global speed-running leaderboards or sponsorship programs. Just "make free advertising for us and we'll give to a mousepad and 60 gems"…….it sucks that I love the casual aspects of this game so much, can't wait to get bored of it…

  13. I feel like your perspective is kinda skewed towards westerners. Most Asians I know prefer playing mobile games over pc games because we commute a lot (on trains, buses, etc) so we need something to do while traveling. We also don't really care about endgame content, we whale for a character because we like them plain and simple not because we want to clear abyss or something. Japanese players are an example of this; you will see that they pull or spend for the characters they like because they simp for them and that's it. Most of the malding I see comes from western pc players for having nothing to do but I barely see any from Asian players because we are used to playing these types of games where you log in for a while, do some stuff, and then log out. Like FGO is huge in Japan and it rakes in millions each year despite being a card game with 2D characters and whales spending several thousands to get a NP5 character since the gacha has no pity and it still doesn't have endgame but I don't see any complaints? Maybe if y'all stop trying to make Genshin a game that it isn't you would be a lot happier with it.

  14. "theses guys are so fucking lazy to provide end game content"

Lmao, if you hate it just delete your account, uninstall the game and switch to another big title game make YT content and profit from it. Just fking stay away from genshin.

Seems like everyone here are new to MiHoYo games. First thing first voice line, KR JP CN ENG, they need to complete all the recording(most of the JP/CN VA have tons of anime/games voice actor role other than genshin to record) before they can release new content as the game storyboard script writing already been set since the launch of the game.

Second, since this is originally from China. MiHoYo need to make sure the content can be clear as in "not very time consuming" due to their government policy of teenager only able to spent 2 hours of gaming daily. In China, all games account MiHoYo included have 2 hours limit of play time. After the time exceeded, the account will be forced log out unable to play.

Third, soundtrack about this I'm pretty sure everyone know the orchestra are hired international which they also need to appoint and make schedule with them.

There are many factors included to work together before new content able to release.

  15. Please do more peptalk like this. More average players need to know that most content creators aren't their friends, but salesmen in disguise.

I initially jumped onto the bandwagon expecting to hop onto the next big game after I get content locked from Genshin, but ended up falling into the other side of gacha trap: dedicating precious time into doing daily commissions and spending resins, despite being able to easily clear 36* abyss already. I honestly don't think upcoming updates are going to give my account any meaningful upgrade, but FOMO kept me coming back.

  16. its force of habbit I guess

The game is balanced around F2P/ low spenders. Hell even they find it easy.
Being a whale just makes this a game a utter cakewalk.

I am a welkin-only player and I blitz through abyss.
I only struggle sometimes , like getting triple star plats in the recent hyakkunin ikki event. But that is entirely optional in the first place.

  17. I know some of you are like me who has reasons to whale on genshin which others won't understand, some might be based on rl struggles. But please if you do, don't do it every patch, save it on your best favourite character. don't go into spending spree and lose all your savings.

So far i've only whaled for hu tao and raiden. I don't feel like whaling till dendro archon comes. I don't even feel like pulling any characters now. Lol

  18. I don't regret the money I spend.. but I recently started a F2P account, and am somewhat of a casual to hardcore gamer… Being F2P and not feeling the need to want every other character (hype and addiction).. makes this game so much more enjoyable. I only topped up once tho, if I want to support Hoyoverse I buy their merch. They really make some quality merchandise.
