  1. he sounds very much like raiden shogun. overcome by grief from the death of a loved one, hardened her heart, changed the nation's laws that shackled her people, has three retainers in the form of the tri-commission, etc.

  2. Spoilers for the Aranara quest, but I have an additional theory about the Scarlet King.

In the Aranara quest, Arama says "There was once a survivor of the Seelie race deep within the golden desert who was friends with Queen Aranyani (Greater Lord Rukkedavata) and the ruler of Valuka (sand)."

This quote can be interpreted in two ways:
1 – It can mean the Seelie survivor was friends with both Queen Aranyani AND the ruler of Valuka, or 2 – It can mean that the Seelie survivor was the ruler of Valuka and was also friends with Queen Aranyani.

Arama also says "Seelies are just empty husks that race left behind. This is because they were born with a curse: If they fall in love with Nara (person/human), they shall lose their intelligence and strength, and their bodies will regress." (Keep in mind that Nara seems to be used to refer to something "humanoid" more than just "human", as the Traveler and their sibling are both referred to as Nara.)

We know the Scarlet King likely had some kind of romantic affections towards the Goddess of Flowers, so what if the madness that came from his mourning of her passing was caused by this regression in wisdom and intelligence?

It would also line up with what that one Ayn Al-Ahmar NPC from Part 1 of the Sumeru Archon quest said. "The Scarlet King founded the great desert nation that was our homeland. It was an advanced civilization, far beyond anything you'll see in present day Sumeru." From what we know, the Seelie civilization was also far more advanced too.

Basically, what if the Scarlet King was actually the survivor of the Seelie race? And that his spiraling descent was caused by the Seelie curse. After all, it's not uncommon for a person to realize they truly loved someone until that person is gone, hence why he would descend only after the Goddess of Flower's death.

Anyway, just a random crack theory that can very easily be wrong xD

  3. The Scarlet King and the disappearance of the people of the kingdom reminds me of the Dwemer(dwarfs) from Elder Scrolls. While searching and trying to create a technology that would raise them to godhood, the entire race disappeared one day and nobody knows why except for a few that claim that the entire race was teleported to a higher realm, that they actually succeeded.

The golden dream of the Scarlet King also sounds like how the Aranara now exists in the dream realm of Vanarana sustained by the Ashvattha tree to escape the destruction of the 1st homeland.
The realm of dreams is basically the realms of memory within the leylines of the Irminsul, the Scarlet King might have also found a way to enter the dream realm.

And if the Scarlet King actually did enter the dream realm, the memories of past, I believe his intention was to reunite with the god of flowers because of his grief. He is literally trapped in his own memory and buried himself in it, taking the entire kingdom with him.

  4. i have this fanfikton theory that the desert king and old denro god could be indeed lovers and that kusanali is their child but the way she was born or rather found could question this fact exept the denro archon coud seperate the seed(her child ) and plant it into a flower so that kusanali would be safe and she didnt had the chace to tell him about the pregnancie

  5. The two reasons I clicked on this video are
    1. SCP thumbnail of the Scarlet King
    2. It’s from Aster, best Genshin lore channel in existence. It’s good to branch out so how about a video on the scarlet king from the SCP next time? It’s alright if you don’t want to. Just a recommendation.

  6. According to the Gilded Dreams set, which is presumably the most accurate account as it comes directly from the Irminsul, the Scarlet King's motive was not malice, but to "Meld all thoughts into one, and let all calculations be unified. Thus shall humanity become the lord of lords and the god of gods." Essentially, he was trying to merge himself and his people into a hive mind that transcends the power of the gods for humanity's sake.

Also, either he or the Goddess of Flowers was smote with a "divine pillar," ie. a Nail; I'm leaning toward it being the Goddess of Flowers, since the Gilded Dreams circlet describes it "burying tree and meadow under the flowing sands" while the Oasis Garden's Kindness describes records of her as "buried deep beneath the yellow sands," and this fits with the idea of her going to her death as a sacrifice similar to Orobaxi.

  7. I just found your channel a week ago and binge-watching all of the genshin lore analysis. You're doing an amazing job with researching and connecting everything. I also noticed that your voice over now sounds a lot more energetic and confident. While I missed your soothing, slower paced VO in the past, I do like this as well. It's kinda cool to see your progression.

  8. Didn't Nahida inherited the "Goddess of Flowers" title just like she inherited the "God of Wisdom" ?

I'm 100% sure an npc told us that but I can't remember when.

  9. if I'm not mistaken in the desert there were 3 gods or kings, also other kingdoms with basal kings, but a tragedy happened and only 2 remained to the goddesses of flowers and the scarlet king (al-ahman), apparently the jins worship him despite being caught and put in silver bottles with his badge.
It also talks about a king I don't remember the name, but it is linked to a magical note that we found and an achievement this reveals in itself the whole history of that king who became a conqueror and in the end he led to the plague of dark beings in face that devastated the kingdoms.

He also talks about the jins, they suggested reading these books as it greatly complements the story told in the artifacts.

  10. Something interesting about Set is that he was originally seen as a benevolent god and one of the gods who guarded Ra, but was villanised due to foreign takeover of Egypt (Foreigners were under his domain, and thus the foreigners taking over Egypt was seen as him asserting control over Egypt). Parallels to the Scarlet King?
