What If Delusions Were Added To Genshin Impact?

Bit of a fun little hypothetical video on if Delusions were an actual ingame mechanic that you could make use of, weighing the potential uses it would have, and whether it would be good or bad for the game’s overall experience.

  1. I 100% think if they added delusions it would have to be only characters who have a delusion already in the story, both to reduce worries of retrofitting it on EVERY character & to avoid having characters that just make no sense having them. I would love to see a version of childe where he has constant hp drain but can do his own electrocharged by himself

  2. Its possible characters with delusions can have a completely different kit from their vision counterparts. Hoyoverse already did something similar with the Honkai Impact 3rd cast. Certain characters have been physical at one point and fire at another for example.

  3. If element switching becomes a gimmick for snezh characters, i will kiss dottore's brain

My idea is that some snezh harbingers will still have vision as their main element, but can temporarily switch to delusions.

But for non vision like Pantalone, I think he will be fully delusion gameplay, and his health starts declining after the first few seconds he uses it. Like maybe, lets say his skill activates his delusion and has an active time of 20 seconds. The first 8 seconds of activation wont hurt his HP, but above that, his HP starts to dwindle for every attack he does. It only stops when the skill time is finished or when he becomes off-field.

And delusions as 2nd element wont give team comp buffs. Like say if Childe has hydro vision and electro delusion, he's still counted as 1 hydro character! So like the delusion is just a 5th secret element in the 4 man team

  4. Teppei?
Oh, no. Don't do it. You know the storm that will unleash!
Vars II, no! I can't handle it!
No-ho-hooo… Teppei! That little guy… He had the heart of a champion! You shoulda made it, Teppei! You just kept scrapin' along!
Teppei… I… I DON'T KNOW WHAT I'M DOING WITH MY LIFE! I-I'm thinking of getting into male modeling—o-or maybe high finance… I JUST DON'T KNOW!!

  5. The closest delusion type character we have is ironically Furina. Yes, she doesn't have a delusion, why is she the closest character you may ask? It's because she's the only character that I know of to change states. You may argue Chasca, stating that she can use more than one element, and yeah I agree that she's a close second to probably childe but I'd still argue that Furina is better simply because it doesn't cost skills to change states and deal different edmg based on your party members

  6. Like SV raids, maybe they could release 1 or 2 special domain every patch. If you pass the challenge you gain a specific delusion for a specific character. That way the meta isn't overflowed by every character using every element, but they don't necessarily close the door for any combination.

  7. Displaying her mastery over both water and polearms, Xiangling sends a Hydronado whirling around her. The Hydronado will move with your character for the ability's duration, dealing Hydro DMG to all opponents in its path.
