  1. I once a pioneer subscriber to him before (about 10k) as a source of info and tips until his channel become rushed and soon, focused on leaks. Before, he's doing fine, covering news regarding to the future updates and stuffs without any traces of leaks from beta tester or any source of media. As his subscribers rose up, i feel that his content has become more and more rushed that feels like he will be left behind that sometimes i feel like I've been click baited and adding some info from leaks on his content.

  2. For what I researched spreading leaks is not necessarely illegal. Any information that was protected by a NDA is no longer protected by it after the information becomes public knowledge. This means that only the responsible for the initial leak can be sued.
Yet information protected by a NDA can also be copyright protected. This means that to use that information without needing the owner of the information approval, the use must be compliant with "Fair use".
"Fair use" is a complicated topic and idk if what he was doing do or do not categorize as "Fair use".

  3. His content was at first very informative and turned into hyper-clickbaity ones. There was even one time I recall a few months ago that he made a video on an upcoming teased hero. Then made 4 other videos on the same day stating that he forgot to mention some details on the hero on his past video. He may be the notepad information archon but he spams too much and for that I just started disliking not him as a person but his content.
Personally I don't feel bad for him. Feeling bad for someone is subjective. I feel bad for people who don't have a warm bed to sleep at night, no proper clothing, and/or can't even have a single decent meal in a day. But I digress. He was able to achieve doing what he did with the risks that he took. That's a W for me. Also he's still alive, healthy, and able-bodied so he can still continue what he loves doing. What he did for Genshin wasn't a waste and the account termination itself is very much justified. Instead he should take this as a lesson and ponder on it.

  4. Meh… Mattjestic broke YT rules in so many places, it didn't matter who reported him. Its not just the leaks.. Clickbait, using copyrighted images, stealing and reposting content, stealing and reposting content that is probably scam, distributing hacked material.. etc. It was just a matter of time.

  5. Leaks or previews, I'm honestly not sure. But I knew that if I wanted to check out the fastest and latest Genshin news, I'd know Matt has got that covered.

  6. If you watched seka’s twitch clip, there’s actually a possibility that two of matt’s copyright strikes is not from mihoyo (because they were in Russian and the strike reason was sketchy).

  7. I never had a problem with him and his content until fame got to his head and he started putting 10+ ads in a video, giving misinformation, using clickbaity thumbnails and titles and deleting comments warning him about consequences of leaking. People have been warning him, i don’t understand how he can’t see that he’s in the wrong. The only invincible one is mihoyo, they can musou no hitotachi you and they have done that several times already. He shot himself in the foot this time

  8. I liked his content sometimes, but recently I was choosing not to watch. Regardless, I wasn't a big fan of his leaks and other info in his thumbnails. Those were impossible not to see.

  9. Tbh I don't blame him. Like how many of us in a situation where we could increase our income by 4x wouldn't at least think about it. And he was only really hurting one big business Mihoyo and it's not like it really hurt them all that much. I'm not saying it was right and totally get why people don't like him. I'm just saying I get why he did that leak stuff. I never really cared one way or another with him or another leaker as long as they didn't spoil story stuff.

  10. Yes he milked content hype and yes it was scummy, but at the end of the day, what big company doesn't milk the hype? YouTubers milk the hype or clout, same goes for businesses trying to get more customers. Pride month anyone? He didn't directly leaked anything, he did take the leaks found in the net and used it to earn money. It is scummy but is it illegal to share basically public knowledge since it was shared online?(actual question, I don't really know). Copy striking his content is fine but to the extent of terminating his yt channel is a bit much imo

  11. I watched his videos until he said chests respawning was a fact. After that he was not reliable and he basically made clickbait. I unsubbed months ago from that guy but I do wish him luck. I loved the whole notepad thing.

  12. I already comment on his channel about how i hate him for leaking, but his subscriber roast (which i predicted anyway). But what shocking to me was he likes these guys, like the guy who roast me for reminding him

  13. i only watched this because of him. What he provides are just typical infos that were already provided in the community. Regardless if they were rumors or legit, but, we as viewers does not have the time to check on these information ( to research on thenm) which have been already provided in the community. He only is eager to help us in that aspect. Thank you

  14. Will those Twitter Leakers and Honeyhunter follow his path? I mean like giving Shogun's appearance last week seems to giving them another fresh air. But stills, leaks are a leaks and should be put into a legal process.

  15. Not sure whether you saw tectone twitch video because his opinion is also very true and educational. Your opinion is very rational and humble, sharing ur experience about content creating and analysis for viewers will help people realise freedom of speech is not freedom of spreading private intellectual asset and expect it to be right and forgivable simply because the company you steal asset from generated a lot of money.

  16. In short, only talk about Contents that is officially shown in showcase. no prediction or leaks. even for showcase for chars like kokomi, oops maybe i shouldn't say the name as its not official. We should pretend we dunno who she is.. or what her element is.. (hint the bubbles).. i think telling ppl what banner is coming and dun spend money now to save for it.. its not a good idea for developers.

  17. Any discussion about this without a discussion about Mihoyo's utter disdain for the playing base isn't a useful discussion. Communication is the key to relationships in any walk of life. Business is no different. They do not communicate with us which is why people are searching for leaks. If they gave a roadmap of what was coming (think about what movie companies do and then compare Mihoyo… it is a stark difference) then there wouldn't be this desire for leaked content. Mihoyo is a very bad partner and I'd never give them money at this point until they act like responsible partners in this business relationship and don't spring things on us like the archons coming almost back to back screwing over every single non-whale who wanted both of them.

  18. I genuinely feel bad for him. I feel like he's actually one of the few people who never talk bad about the game or the company itself, but looks like it doesn't matter. Mihoyo only care about things that could (potentially) affecting their income

  19. I was called "ridiculously selfish" recently by someone in a YT comment for saying that I don't mind character/banner leaks. I didn't watch Mattjestic but it's helpful for f2p players and low spenders to have a sense of what's to come in the game so we can save for who we want.

I don't support leaks because they're illegal and they hurt Mihoyo's profits (which may sound weird, but more people saving their primogems means less people spending money on crystal top ups- therefore, less money going to content). I never liked any other type of leak and I understand all of this.

Even so, I don't think it made me selfish to not mind them. They were helpful but I didn't need them. Overall, I think the consequences should be the same/similar for all YT channels and people on other platforms who leak. Channels like Nixo and PickyChoco have gone down the path of leaking for the money they get for it (which is pretty selfish and corrupt) and I think they should have the same consequences for what they're doing. The only thing unfair about it is that not everyone is punished for their crimes. They knew what they were doing. Thank you for the video with your thoughtful insight as always πŸ’›
