Still a bit lackluster. They should change the reactions and make it easier to use. Like directly shielding the character when triggering the reaction and delete the picking a crystal mechanic.
I don't know how many times I couldn't pick a shield because ennemies was blocking me (the zoo in the abyss). That would make Albedo too powerful though

Shields aren't supposed to take that whale, specially the crystallize shields that are weaker but often spawn. Zhongli shield is good, but it takes 12 seconds to cooldown, so, even if you successfully tank that hit right after using your E, you would still be vulnerable for about 12 seconds. However, I still dont recomend full EM builds either, because sustainers arent so relevant once you learn to avoid damage

Crystal should remove element putted on character. Like anemo mc's E.
Guess CR/CD/ATK/ER still are the best options, EM for Geo is as good as it is for Physical.
An EM shieldbot Albedo could essentially keep you shielded everytime a blossom procs. 4k shield health is more than enough to help you survive most hits, and if you think about it.. with an EM Albedo you essentially have like a consistent 4k shield every two seconds if you're procing crystalize. The downside is ofcourse very low damage being the blossom having an almost non-existent damage

Crystallize is indeed in a weird place, especially where Ningguang is concerned. She would benefit if crystallize was buffed enough, but then she'd really become a 5 star XD.

People saying "The shield isn't meant to completely protect you" is dumb considering you just spent so much resources investing into over 1k EM for a such a mediocre result and this not only goes for Geo as an element but the other major reactions (Overload, Electro-charged, Superconduct, Shatter) too. Aside from anemo because Swirl is quite strong after the buffs.
Meanwhile with Melt/ Vaporize you don't even need EM to do ridiculous damage with them, just typical damage stats.
What does elemental mastery do ;-;

uhmmm…. the 0 EM shield only tanks 1 whale attack while the 1100 EM shield tanks 2, it's not a 4000HP difference. At 0:39, the whale clearly didn't hit Ninguang because the 0 EM shield wasn't broken? If both waves deal the same amount of damage than the difference is a lot
I better way to make crystallize shields is the hp scales of of the characters hp and the shield strength off of the em
Or maybe that would be too OP lmao, but then again vaporize and melt exist
