Second phase of version 3.7 will start next week and players will be able to wish for kazuha and alhaitham. Hoyoverse hasn’t announced any new character for version 3.8. This means that there will be no new five star or four star character in version 3.8. With this info we can safely say that the next patch will be a rerun only patch.
According to the latest news and info, Version 3.8 will be have fontaine and mondstadt related plots and storyline. Eula is also expected to get second part of her story quest or at the very least, she will play a big part in the main storyline of 3.8. There will be a new limited time area in version 3.8 called penumbra. And Hoyoverse will also introduce two new outfits for kaeya and klee.
Since eula will play a big role in the storyline, she is sure to get a rerun. This has also been confirmed by many leakers. Klee is getting a new outfit, so it’s pretty obvious that she will get her rerun. Eula and klee will get their rerun banners in phase 1 of version 3.8. It has been almost a year and half since eula got her previous rerun. She got her last rerun in version 2.3 back in 2021. Klee got her last rerun in version 2.8 along with kazuha.
In the second phase of version 3.8 wanderer will get his rerun. He was released in version 3.3, and almost every new character gets a rerun after 3 or 4 patches. So he is sure to get a rerun. You must be thinking about alhaitham, well i still have no idea how alhaitham got his rerun before wanderer.
About the next character, kokomi will get her next rerun in the second phase of version 3.8. Now many will say what about albedo. Well Albedo got his last rerun in version 3.1 and kokomi got hers in 3.0. So kokomi is more likely to get a rerun.
Since 3.8 will have Mondstadt related plots, it’s not necessary that only Mondstadt characters will get their reruns. We have seen this with windblume festival, where not a single character from Mondstadt got his rerun.
Now about version 4.0 banners. Leakers have confirmed that version 4.0 will add one new five star unit and 2 new four star units to the playable roster.
And they have also confirmed that lyney will be the five star unit. So he will surely get his banner in phase 1. The character who will be reruning with lyney will most likely be zhongli or raiden shogun. Zhongli got his rerun in version 3.0 whereas raiden got her rerun in 3.3.
I didn’t mention venti because he will be getting second part of his story quest in version 4.3 or after. And since Hoyoverse skipped 3.7 and 3.8 without an archon rerun banner, one archon is sure to get their rerun in 4.0. So either zhongli or raiden shogun will get their rerun banners in version 4.0.
The next character is childe. Childe is confirmed to get a rerun in version 4.0. He got his last rerun in version 3.2 along with yae miko. That leaves us with one empty slot, and that will be filled by yelan. Yelan is also confirmed to get a rerun in version 4.0. Yelan got her last rerun in version 3.4.
Now about 4.1 banners. Version 4.1 will introduce two new five star characters. One is confirmed to be wriothesley, who will later be added to the standard banner in version 4.2. Wriothesley will be the first five star cryo male character in genshin impact.
Next character who will get his rerun is kamisato ayato. Ayato got his last rerun in version 3.3, so his rerun completely makes sense.
The next character will be an archon, whether it will be zhongli or raiden shogun, depends on who is getting their rerun in 4.0. So it will be either zhongli or raiden shogun.
Now about the next new five star character. If you look at the previous pattern of Hoyoverse, each x.1 patch has featured a new five star hydro character in the past. For example, childe in 1.1, kokomi in 2.1 and nilou in 3.1. If Hoyoverse follows this pattern then, one new five star hydro character will get his rerun in version 4.1. It could be Neuvillette or any other new character. The order of these banners might change but this should give you a rough idea about which character is getting it’s rerun, so you can save your primogems.
