my main dps is ganyu and ive heard she has amazing synergy with venti. should i wish venti or zhongli?

Venti needs low investment to do his job well ( A4 60/70 with ER sands)
Zhongli need high investment to do his job well (The more hp and lvl of his talents the better because a low lvl zhongli hurts your team DPS while low lvl venti doesnt)
This is my perspective, I'm a F2P mobile player who can beat abyss thanks to these 2 characters, hope my opinion adds something useful.

The way I see it Zhongli will most likely show up in 1.5 , which means we have another 6 weeks worth of time after 1.4 goes live to save up for him.
Solid points, can't say I disagree. Personally I also prefer Zhongli, setting up for the late game, but I understand the feelings of those thinking that Venti is the better hero overall. To me it seems that when he's good, he's REALLY good. But the pool of heroes he's good with is smaller than the pool that's good with Zhongli.
I got Venti, I want Zhongli and I want Ayaka, decisions, decisions…
Quality content my friend. I got both characters and can agree that I don't use Venti right now. Zhongli is a very nice Character if you want to tank some damage (AR 54)

I just hit AR55 have Xiao, Hu Tao and Childe on a team. Venti would be a great support but the fact im in the end game seems like he loses value. i really wanted but trying to win a 50/50 will suck

what kind of content do you have in mind for 1.4? Since it's kinda a downtime, to say more liberally
Id say go pull the one you like, ppls may say venti useless after ar50, zongli suits better for endgame, while they forget mioyo can change whatever its endgame to favor the one who they sell on whatever event banner that is currently running.. remember at xiao banner? Abyss 12 buff your atk gradually from your hp lost treshold.. at homa banner? You got something when your hp < 50 right? At current banner, you met 1 or 2 bigbois robots, because thats what hutao good at, she cant deal with multiple enemies without her ult..
At venti banner? You guys can guess what will happens right? Abyss 12 packed with 100 smoll indie mobs,and after 1.4 you will get new exploring areas and ppls starts to say "venti is god of explorations etc3"

Don't have sucrose + need a cc character go for venti
Don't have xingqiu + need a hyper carry DPS go for childe
If You have any of those characters then wait and go for geo dady Zhongli ….

I'm going for guaranteed Venti and i already have Zhongli.. now I'm only missing Klee >:) But yeah if I played after Zhong's banner I'd chose him over Venti. But yeah, I'm VERY hyped for Venti, since he was the only five star I wanted that I didn't actually end up pulling

I’ve been saving up since day one of playing for venti love his game play and character but my only 5 star is albedo and albedo with zhongli is god tier op.

I do not agree with your view that Venti falls off during the late game when compared with Zhongli.
Firstly, Venti is the best enabler for freeze comps (the most well-known variant being Ganyu, Mona, Venti) allows for a much longer window for attack. In this round of abyss 12-1 and 12-3, the elite enemies become much more aggressive and dangerous after being active for a period of time. Freeze comps with Venti in it could trivialize the floors since enemies can't enter their aggressive phase.
And no, Zhongli's shield is not irreplaceable, try out Beidou teams for this matter (a variant being Beidou, Fischl, Xingqiu). This team provides 80% damage reduction along with the 2 strongest off-field ults in terms of multipliers. For maximum tankiness, Noelle could become the main DPS in this team
