Tower of Fantasy IS NOT Genshin Impact.

Tower of Fantasy is not a Genshin Impact Clone
sure, there is some similarity, but calling it a clone and outright denying its potential.
is a bit rude imo

  1. I wanna love tof but the constant bugs I've experience, the graphics and the kinda rushed feeling I got from release ruined for me, I personally will stick to Soulworker but this whole debate is dumb and people shouldnt make other people feel bad for wanting to enjoy tof or genshin

  2. I like how TOF’s plot includes actual dramatic sad moments, which altogether just makes me connected to the plot more.
The devs did change the plot at multiple points, such as introducing new context for short term Pve battles in some chapters, so it doesn’t seem as repetitive.
This altogether makes me just like the plot alot more, and when I am tired of quests i will just go do multiplayer.

  3. All I'm gonna say is that the publisher of ToF, Tencent, has a reputation of releasing cash grabs of already popular games. They have a infamous reputation of plagiarism in China.

  4. people need to chill ffs. the two games are so different genshin is now a perfect side game to main game like tof because you done with genshin like what in 5 min and than what ? good. just play both of them and enjoy as much as you can. tof go good story good graphics not as great as genshin but but its better than nothing and if genshin were not to exist we would say tof got amazing graphics .. tof is much fun many activities to do and its an actual mmo can actually do world bosses and stuff with other people wich makes it so much fun .

  6. Isn’t the tower of fantasy vs Genshin comparison partly tof’s fault? I recall the CN tof made posts like “upcoming Genshin killer and GA winner” (now deleted lmao)

  7. That’s what gets me. These kinds of games clearly and blatantly copy and take things from other titles and use them as mechanics while being unique. Yes ventis e is basically the same as rovalis gale which is an ability u get in botw. But it’s because you see those similarities that you want to try it. The game itself is unique enough to be called it’s own game even if some characters are obvious copy’s of other games characters. Even mihoyo cheats on their games by having characters like miko being copied from honkai. It’s just a normal thing and shitting on a game for doing that is not right when the game we are comparing it to was literally in the same boat 2 years prior. If people didn’t compare Genshin to botw and if it didn’t have the similarities I probably wouldn’t have played it. And if tof wasn’t similar to Genshin I probably wouldn’t have played it. That’s just the industry standard, copy from the biggest game on the market to draw people in and then make the game unique

  8. I can't agree with Tenten because the idea that being a clone is something bad is wrong. You can be a clone, be a cool project, and be successful at the same time, which is what Genshin Impact is all about. Even after 2 years, Genshin remains a clone because the basic mechanics and playstyle that mihoyo took from botw have not changed at all. Genshin content grows in breadth, not height. And I don't think mihoyo will ever change that.
The situation with ToF is the same, but the MMO system creates a big difference between them.
And these arguments about the development of ToF before the launch of Genshin are not correct. You only need to compare the development timing of both games, because corporate espionage is still doing its job well to this day.

  10. I agree with everything but botw is better than Genshin. Botw open world is more detailed and is significantly cheaper when you look at the average players money spent or what it takes to get to a certain level. It takes weeks for Genshin and u get everything for free in botw. Botw story is leagues better, botw combat is worse when you look at reactions but to access that combat Genshin really does require grinding when botw gives it to you for free. Graphics are about the same but over all botw offers more for less while Genshin can potentially offer the same but it requires more time money and patience

  11. Disagree completely, it IS Genshin impact, and i can talk about it because did played a lot of ToF, and i have completed everything in Genshin so far, the game copied so many of the hud and systems for menu, map, missions, and so many other stuff that by every minute that i play ToF, i find more stuff.

Dont get me wrong, i dont say the game is bad, after all, is a clone of a good game, and they added more features that Genshin is afraid to add because they dont take risks, everything that Mihoyo adds to genshin seems overpolished, so there are no risky features, Genshin should have at least 50% of those interesting features that ToF have like guild and see people around, besides having real dungeons with interesting obstacles and random stuff that happens.

The good part about ToF, regardless of the clunky combat, bugs, awkward movement and worse graphics, is that it does have good shop offers, it already in a single day gifted more to the players than Mihoyo in this 2 years, and we can expect them to keep adding crazy stuff because they dont seem to mind adding unpolished stuff, for the better and for the worse xD, in genshin there is just…nothing to do…

  12. After trying ToF, I was a bit underwhelmed by the state of the game. I was trying to play using a controller, the game doesn't fully support that, menu access need mouse + keyboard.

The initial 2 hours spent playing ToF felt very underwhelming, it could be due to the lack of polish or my expectation that the game should've had good art style/ost (at a similar level as Genshin) or simply not my cup of tea.

Genshin has been my casual game, daily login + events (30min – 1 hour play time) and move on to other games.

  13. Tower of Fantasy was indeed in development long before Genshin release. At the time, even though it was still cel shaded anime graphics, it looked totally different and quite dull. Since Genshin’s popularity, ToF dev overhauled the graphics to make it bright and vibrant

  14. Tbh the multiplayer really turn the table for me. In genshin you just play, get a 5* beat 36* abyss but you still feel hollow inside because no one there to share, no one there to told your amazing experience its like playing in my own dimension with lot of heartless npc. But in tof i feel playing with others or stranger is a whole new experience, even if you die, not getting ssr, but we still laugh together so theres that. I think everyone should at least try tof once

  16. There's limitation to how you could make a game with certain parameter

    Genshin looks more polished
Yes but they will sacrifice on how much multiplayer content they could make, there's no way they could make multiplayer raid party more than 4ppl, the game will become heavier and harder to look smooth, it's not cause they dont want to make it happen but THEY CAN'T !

On the other hand to make multiplayer possible ToF will need to sacrificr more polished texture and certain stuff
But seriously they do animate every character cutscene, while genshin using the exact same gesture for every talking and stuff like that

Want to play single player game go for Genshin? It's simple just play it, don't bother other people

  17. 1- everyone knows that tower of fantasy and genshin impact are not the same
2- they are similar games not because of the art style

Dude do proper research and script ur videos u just contradict with everything

  18. You're right, it isn't Genshin Impact. The problem is it WANTS to be, but everything about it is clunky as fuck by comparison. Playing Genshin on a console or PC it doesn't often feel like a game with roots in the mobile design space. It's really fucking hard to ignore in ToF, and it's really off putting, and just isn't anywhere near as polished.

It literally feels like all those F2P WoW clones that came out when WoW was big. It just feels like an unremarkable offbrand product.

  19. People who compare any other game to Genshin don't understand that the absolute core of Genshin's gameplay is the elemental system and the overall insane amount of interaction between characters. It's the reason that, even without much character kit customization, there can be so much creativity in how you play. Without something equivalent creating insane amount of interplay between a team of characters, there's literally no comparison.

I still want them to add more multiplayer to Genshin, but honestly, even if they did, it's not like my friends are going to catch-up to me to be able to play. Proper dungeons and raids would be sick though.

  20. TOF being playable with multiple people is really cool. But compared to Genshin, that's really all it has. The graphics are worse. The combat feels much clunkier, the movement system is straight up broken, and the characters are not nearly as interesting. The story is terrible. The world feels thrown together and unorganized. From what I've heard about the CN side of things, the powercreep as more limited characters release is absurd. So even if you can get more characters as an f2p than you can in genshin, you can't pull a Ganyu or Ayaka and have a top tier character for years.

I'm having fun with TOF for now but its really just to hold me over for sumeru. I see this being another "genshin killer" that will inevitably fail to kill genshin and live on with a modest playerbase.

  21. Played genshin since beta and from the first day I said coop is just a word in that game, open world is filled with emptiness and end game content (abyss 12) is just 1 hour each 2 weeks.

And yeah, you may have forgotten about the anniversary but many didn't.

  22. Tbh, I love tof. Their combat is easier, doesn't need godly skill to be good at unlike genshin. Also genshin artifact is the biggest turn off for me as I waste few month farming same artifact without ever getting even a single artifact with good stat. Pure waste of time. At this point, what make me still play genshin is just for their story.

  23. Remember kids, if it uses elements from another game, even if inspired, its still considered plagiarism, theft, and not an honorary homage to what made something great at all. Games should be allowed to derive inspirations from others, be it culture or artistic vision.

  24. Gotta say tho, it may have inspiration from Borderlands as well. You could tell by the similarities of Psychos and Hyenas and some visual feature with the environment. Not saying it's a copycat off of that as well, but I'm just saying it also has its similarities and I absolutely love it.

  25. Lol if we start to talk about mechanics we get more than 90% similarity, same with donate and soft curency obtaining. This is the main subject of comparison for me.
I must doing the same things each day and each week to get what i want, and it is no matter what i need to spend resin or stamina.
