Make the spear anyway, enjoy the game. if it's true and there is an event spear, then we'll get all the mats and be able to r5 it anyway. It's sad but we do have to kind of plan ahead, character banners along with the lack of primogems to roll often make us miss out on characters that we want if we didn't focus on one banner.

If this is about "The Catch", then that one will be an event weapon and will use exclusive materials for ascension (like Dodoco Tales). So it's not a craftable.

This spear may be the best for Tohma for all we know. The Catch is better for most polearm supports right now as their damage comes from the burst and with the new ER set, it synergizes even more. We don't have any character YET that relies more on their E to use this spear.
if the weapon is only coming out like in 6 months or whatnot, i would rather spend the mats on something i could put my hands on now. no one knows if im still playing the game after 6 months, better enjoy while i can
I used to like leaks for this game when I first got into Genshin a few months ago, but over time I began to realize that if you hoard for so long and live off of pure speculation and data mines, it's not fun. Imo, the real fun is when you do things blindly, and experience the emotions when you do fail to realize that something even better was around the corner or not.
Just my two cents. Data mines worked for Destiny (old veteran of Destiny), but they do NOT work for a game like this.

You could build this spear anyways then get the free event weapon when it comes out. More spears, more options for all the new spear users coming out.
