In this video, let’s talk about a new Geo character that will be released in 5.1, as well as when we will see the official trailer for Natlan.

According to the info from FullStopChan we will get a new character in 5.1.

It’s a tall Geo female, similar to Navia in appearance. She is a support character and has a shield. FullStopChan also mentioned that she will be one of the important meta characters. If she is Geo, has a shield, and will be meta in Natlan, she might potentially surpass Zhongli in terms of shields, as he currently holds the strongest one.

While details about the new 5-star Geo support character are still emerging, information and community discussions suggest that this character will play an important role in making Geo more enjoyable and useful by providing defensive support.

There is no information about whether she will scale from defense like other Geo characters or HP. It feels like no one really likes building defense on characters, so maybe she will scale from HP, but this is just a guess.

The main feature of Geo, the crystallize reaction, gives you shields but doesn’t pack the same punch as reactions like vaporize, melt, or dendro reactions. We have characters like Zhongli and Albedo, who are really good geo-supports, but they still struggle to stay relevant in the game’s meta.

If HoYoverse adds this new 5-star Geo support character, it might breathe new life into Geo-based teams.

Genshin has gradually improved the Geo element through its updates. They’ve boosted Zhongli’s shield strength and introduced characters like Gorou, who specifically supports Geo characters.

We even got two new 5-star characters in Fontaine, Navia and Chiori, so probably HoYoverse will continue this trend in 5.1.

I hope we will get new reactions for Geo because Crystallize works the same with every element and is pretty useless if you don’t have Elemental Mastery on your Geo character to have that shield. Of course, we have Navia, but still, she just vacuums Crystallize shards and doesn’t really improve Geo itself. Well, let’s hope that we will get something new in Natlan.

Now let’s talk about when we might see this new character.

As you may know, on Friday we will get a 4.8 special program with events, banners, and all that. But I think we have a pretty good chance to see a Natlan teaser or trailer there.

There is a very simple reason behind that.

The number of people playing Genshin is at its lowest in a year. If we take a look at Google Trends, we can see that people are not really interested in Genshin that much. However, if we switch to the 5-year time span, we can see that Genshin currently has the fewest active players. I know it’s just Google Trends, but still, players are losing interest in Genshin.

So releasing the Natlan trailer during the livestream would be a good idea to bring older players back. Just a quick note that we will get drip marketing for Natlan characters on July 15th, so we should definitely see the trailer before that.

  2. no one is replacing zhongli lmfao genshin cant make an archon weak that would defeat the whole purpose of him being an archon, plus if her shield is in her burst that means u gotta build er on her, with zhongli u dont need to build er to have his shield

  9. They suddenly releasing more Geo characters, undersatandable since we barely have ones and Goru/Yun Jin might have been the last geo character.

    I heard Iansan is geo, I hope it's not the case and be Pyro instead.

  39. The "low" trend is not much lower, not even 50%, and the game was released in 2020. About "interest" or popularity, the best games are the least popular, it does not matter how many people play a game but how it is. And lastly, the game has competition from new gacha games, other games, and Star Rail, so I would say considering all this and the fact that Mihoyo owns Genshin and Star rail, nothing really bad happened in 4 years and Genshin is doing excellent.

  46. By releasing (imaginarium theater) players are even more uninterested because hoyo used a great idea like (simulated universe from hsr) but made it worst by making it too restrictive and rng based.

    If hoyo at their current position take things in their own hands and selfishly add stuff which doesn't make the player base happy then natlan release will only bring a temporary 1-2 patch increase pkayer activity and funds then they'll be down on these as usual.

    So i really hope they don't mess up woth natlan, pyro mc, new mechanics and stuff. They really need to start listening to players actively, cause if you can make your customer happy, no matter how stable and popular you are they will abandon you.
