Some leaks regarding future upcoming characters are alright imo. But leaks about new content, for example the new island kinda kills the joy of unexpected.
The genshin leaks reddit is very careful with the leaks but anyway leaks are always "not true"

It's simple. Assume all leaks are false if it didn't come from the Reddit leaks sub
I get those clickbait articles recommended too and it's really annoying. But yeah, even trusty leakers and sources on Twitter make jokes just to troll the annoying people asking them too much, or translate fake Chinese leaks just in case. So it's really hard to be sure what are lucid dreams and what are not. Funny ones like the horse Ayato joke are obvious, but others not so much. Some time ago there was a leak saying 2.4 would have a new set for Xiao and Yun Jin was an anemo support a la Gorou (back when we thought they had changed her vision because of the lack of color on hers on the Moonchase cutscene). And considering recent artifact sets and 4* niche characters, it wouldn't be so crazy to think they might have buffed Xiao like that on his rerun. And when real 2.4 beta leaks and Mihoyo's drip happened, MY HEART WAS SHATTERED

Genshin Impact LEAK VIDEO CONFIRMED BY ME Update 3.0 Cumming with Sumeru and 4th Faturi hair- binger called Alstolfo. Then 3.1 Kazum and Kazuha reran. Blerg Blerg seggs seggs in Ar 60 Leaky Leaky. Then Dainsleif is not playable until 7.9 update. But fureal the fake leaks are so funny, I only make videos on the Genshin Leaks subreddit posts that are actual legit leaks. Even then Banmner leaks are always sus, because we never know banners especially that far away.

I actually see the fake leaks as a good thing. It makes people realise that you cant trust leaks 100% cause even the most reliable sources get it wrong/dont get the full info (look at how childe turned out, before release he was said to have crit rate as a lvl up stat and on release he got what we got). But this also touches on a much bigger problem: google recomending leaks to people that do not want to see them just cause it has ,,genshin impact" in the name

Mhy even put out a public statement way back saying not to base our expectations off of leaked content that hasn't even been finalized and officially released to the public. Lately a lot of people are starting to sound like they're basing their expectations off of leaks fake or "real" without fully understanding it's all subject to change and they don't take them with a grain or two of salt like they should. But then if those expectations aren't met, some people are gonna be either disappointed, mad, or both over information that they really shouldn't even know in the first place…

The clickbait thumbnails on certain yt channels are getting wilder and wilder istg. I remember before 2.3 there were tons of videos like “there will be no more reruns!! Xiao skin for free!!” And yesterday I saw “three new types of weapon!!” with a badly edited scythe-wielding Yae. As you say, whatever floats those people’s boat, but like, there are people who actually believe this. Saddeningly big amounts of them. They then go on social media and make posts like “oh my god I can’t believe X and Y”. And then even more gullible clueless folks read this and take it for universal truth. And then it just grows into something everyone kinda assumes to be true, but it just isn’t and never was. Look at what happened to that Ubatcha “leak” about ZL rerun. Ubatcha is not a credible source, but only those who read actually decent sources would know about that and seen all the receipts, while majority just blindly believes when some Uba fanboy retells his tale but changes the source to just “a reliable leaker”. And boom, somehow the whole online community is now convinced we’re getting Zhongli. It’s just frustrating to be telling people I know that no, for the 100th time, we’re not getting a free 5* just because youtube said so.
It has to stop, but how honestly
