  1. I started recently and Im really enjoying it! The resin system is annoying and it's stupid that I have to watch events on youtube but I really love it I don't really play games this is the first one bc I don't think angry birds count💀

  2. I just do minimum spending. (i was so irritated when i lose the 50/50 in getting furina , coz qiqi appeared 😭).. I broke my f2p status just to get a furina. I spend less atleast i can still experience the f2p way. Still have a good experience hehe

  3. I've been playing Genshin Impact since the mid/early 1.x patches, and stayed f2p until fairly recently (even so only buying the occasional welkin to help save for a character). In addition to the bonuses of being f2p that you mentioned, I think having a limited roster of characters at your disposal adds to the engaging challenge of the game—rather than constantly pulling for the most recent characters in order to comply with the current meta, I have found and continue to find combat content more interesting when I have to strategize a little bit.

  4. If you're truly having trouble on what Genshin could do to improve the game then you should play Honkai Star Rail. I'm not saying Honkai Star Rail is better than Genshin or that you should quit Genshin and play Honkai Star Rail. I'm saying if you're having trouble on what Genshin could do to improve their game then you should play Honkai Star Rail. They are comparable since they are both Hoyoverse games, so a lot of their systems will be familiar if you played Genshin Impact prior. To name off a few differences:

HSR keeps their events in game. Mainly so new players can experience them, but the rewards are better if you participate in the event before it "ends".

HSR has repeatedly improved their end game content. Currently there's 5 modes to choose from in the form of Simulated Universe, Simulated Universe: Swarm Disaster, Simulated Universe: Gold and Gears, Memory of Chaos, and Pure Fiction. Simulated Universe is basically a dungeon crawler, Memory of Chaos is like the Spiral Abyss, and Pure Fiction is an endless game mode.

HSR players feel appreciated. Every patch we get a free 10 pull which is nice. We also recently received a limited 5 Star Dr. Ratio (contrary to belief, he's actually a very solid unit). They didn't have to, but they did. They set the bar so high that I'm excited to see what they'll do for the Anniversary. This is a welcomed change from when I was playing Genshin when thinking about anniversary rewards.

That being said, I still think Genshin is a good game. It could be great in my opinion, but it falls short because of the absence of content that I think it deserves to have. I personally don't like how true the statement "Genshin could never" really is. Here's hoping they turn over a new leaf.

  5. My tip as an ar 58 dolphin player is don’t focus too much on genshin. Keep it as a side game. I still play a lot of other games including first person shooter games and Lethal company, but there are days when new lore dropped or I want to do a long farming session. But other than that, login to genshin once a day, play for 15 to 30 minutes, maybe longer if you wanna farm, logout, play some other game.

  6. Here is my problem with the level up characters, I’m more into the free to play characters and I feel like I have to level them all up to a point in order to explore new lands like liyue It’s my new area but there are elements puzzle I need for Geo and out of laziness I don’t want to change my travelers element from anemo to geo bc I don’t like the play style of the Geo element so I kinda have to level up the two geo characters I have in a way to get through certain things and quest that requires a certain element

  7. Will say, I don't think that being f2p inherently makes the game more fun. An old boss of mine when I was in an employment program totally blew my mind when he said he didn't mind spending a bit in mobile games if it was something he enjoyed. Up til then I basically thought any spending in games was stupid 😅

I only pull for characters I actually like or that I think can add to characters I love. It helps me not spend… AS much, and not spend on stuff that I end up regretting. I used to play visual novel games though and really had to stop those days because… I had to have the prettiest avatar, cutest clothes, you know. 😂

  8. Most gatcha games, hell, most games in general have rarely kept my consistent interest for very long. Genshin is the first game that has had me consistently playing for over two years — it has good story, good characters, good world building, and it’s a free game right on my phone so it’s easily accessible. It’s so rare for me to find a game that blew past my expectations the way Genshin has. As long as this game continues to allow me to explore the open world and pick up all the flowers I want, I will continue to keep playing this unique and special game until the day the servers go down.

  9. When I heard what doro said about the people on twitter, it made me want to say this.

NEVER EVER EVER TELL ANYONE TO K*LL THEMSELVES. No matter how mad you are, that is such a dangerous thing to say. Even if you think it is a joke. As someone who has also struggled with suicidal thoughts, being told to do that is such a horrible experience. I was told to k*ll myself on a discord server I was in and it made me completely withdraw from my life. I couldn’t stop thinking about it and it fueled my suicidal thoughts. I was in a very dangerous situation but luckily I found a way to cope. Those words almost ended me and if you say that to someone who has struggled with things like that, you are walking on thin ice. Never say something that horrible to someone. Thanks for coming to my Ted talk.

  10. I don't think anyone should start playing the game now. There's too much content that they've completely missed out on, too many characters that they won't understand are extremely poorly made gameplay wise, their favorite might not show up on banner for a full year or more, the artifact grind is extremely painful, and once someone hits end game, you're already addicted but now there's literally nothing to do. It's an awful experience. I still play, and started day 1, but if I knew it would be like this when at the end of the game, I never would have started.

  11. Big tip for those who want to main a certain character that is not in the meta that you might not know but the community doesn't want you to do: IGNORE THEM! Don't build the character if the community forcefully says so to you (especially if that might make you regret doing it) unless you want to clear harder content.

It reminded me back then when I was a new player I wanted to main Klee but a friend of mine said "Just build C6 Yanfei or pull for Hu Tao!" but I ignored those words. Now, I have the little elf bomber at C3 and fully invested (going for C6 because why not? She's a precious little bean!) + pulling for the characters I coincidentally like, being few of them I didn't know they're actually meta (especially Furina and Navia) and never regretted anything. As for my Spiral Abyss clears? Well, I 36-Starred it consistently from 2.7 until now.

  12. Dont get your Wold Level up too quickly and pre farm materials for your characters before you go into the ascention domain. Dont think you shouldnt farm artifacts at all before AR45, just dont use resin until youve reached it.

  13. I quit playing Genshin Impact about a year ago. I had made so many mistakes when I started playing and they all caught up to me. I was too weak to fight anything, I leveled up my world too quickly, I had no leveling up materials. I was lost, and quite frankly very frustrated. I felt that it was a lost cause, so I quit. I haven't touched the game since, and I didn't plan to either, but I came across this video and I started to think. I could just make an entirely new account and start brand new knowing what I know now, not only from this video but from past experiences. I've also felt motivated to play Genshin because all my friends around me have mentioned it countless times and they love it to death, and I feel like I may be missing out. I just cleaned out a LOT of storage on my gaming laptop, so maybe now it's a good chance to finally pick up Genshin Impact, blow away that dust, and try it out one last time.

  14. For me if you don't care about any of the story at all, don't play the game. I know there are other things that can hook you to play this game but you won't last long.
Best case scenario you play for while and delete the game, worst-case you gonna spend money. It would much waste if you're not invested in them. You just doing for the sake of gambling.

  15. As someone who started playing only seven or eight months ago, I’m at ar 45 already, and the amount of farming I had to do to get my whole team to level 70, was so much, I died fighting a flower, just wait a bit till you want to level up more, cause it’s really hard after a bit

  17. I started playing genshin more than a year ago and it's surely a worth playing game, i love to explore and level up my characters i love, the story it's amazing, the stories of every character are wonderful to play too, it's really a game that changed my life too making me meet wonderful people and spending happy hours everytime i was playing it, i wanna give some advices too that could be good for some beginners.

    • Pull the characters you love and want not just the strongest, if you love dori just take her and build her even if she's not the best character in the game

•Do not ignore exploration and side quests, behind exploration and side quests there are a lot of things that you might miss

    • DO NOT SPEND MONEY ON IT, if you want to spend money on it just buy the welkin and if you want the BP, those are the only things that are worth spending money on (but if there is a skin that you absolutely love of a character take it, just don't spend money on crystals)

That's all and i hope that my advices will be useful for someone ❤

  18. As someone who has played Genshin for over a year now, these are important points that my brother (who also plays genshin) needs to adapt to because he always speedrun the story (because he wants to catch up to the point that he doesn't understand anything that happened) and always questions me all about what happens on those quests and it's annoying. 🙃
