I think Mihoyo's doing a great job with making shields less OP but not irrelevant, as most of the attacks that have been shown to punish shields are either – punishing people who rely only on shields w/o healing – easily dodged – slow-acting DoT
This is stupid I didnt spend money to get zhongli if i was still going to dodge attacks If zhongli was free i wouldnt complain but he wasnt If people think his shield is OP and makes game boring then dont use him Dont make people who wants that OP shield and make the game easier get affect by your opinion
Venti: Works well in Mondstadt, works also in Liyue, doesn't work well in Inazuma Zhongli: Works well in Liyue, Obviously also works in Mondstadt, doesn't work well in Inazuma Raiden: Works well in Mondstadt, Liyue and Inazuma (Maybe the Enemies in the regions are based on the Archsons specialty, Can't say anything for Venti but in Liyue you kinda need shields (Primogeo Vishap and Azdaha), And for Inazuma you need a high Energy recharge like these new ones)
This is just them trying to force us to get 5 star Barbara characters like kokomi. Most healers only heal with ult so Jean and Bennet and diona constantly get shut down. Also artifact that increases energy recharge is idiotically paired with yet another set that just increases attack. Making it up to rng to see if players waste their time that day or not.
Of course they have to keep updating the meta, if the same team you pulled at the beginning of the game still works 3 years later its bad for sales, they want you to keep rolling for new ones, this is nothing new with service like games or games that are constantly updating
just wait until mhy releases tanky enemies who ignores shield , and has over 90% elemental resistance, and another zhongli rerun in the same patch . They might regret that
