  1. I think its just there to make the map unlocked there to be able to traverse easier for now? I'd see some chest collecting event for Sumeru there or something we seen in Moonchase festival etc.

  2. I personally haven’t finished the desert areas, am 80-95% finished with the chasm. Couldn’t finish the area that turns knight into day because the new region/story came out.
Personally don’t know how people have time to do everything in this game.

  3. The lore points to this being intentional. The door to khaenriah in the sumeru desert points directly toward bayda harbor. considering its empty it’s the perfect location for them to do story related map events there without affecting existing chests yet allowing for crazy map transitions

  4. I was so excited for it, too. Sumeru is my favorite region with Mondstadt and Fontaine as close seconds, but man this update was insulting. Almost as insulting as Dainsleif still not being here and Mondstadt still lacking an expansion beyond Dragonspine. Ergh. Loved Remuria though

  5. Maybe Hoyo should have leave it dark and unexplorable. People will complain less 😅🤣🤦‍♂️. It's supposed to be a Fontaine map update anyways

  6. I think they just added this part of the land to prep. The shape probably needed to be changed for the coming additions to the map or something. They might have just decided that there needs a coast to be there.

  7. Literally my feelings. Not I don't wanna be ungrateful, and the environment is beautiful. But there's barely any reason we wanna visit it beside scenery and yes, some puzzles or some really hard to gather materials is okay, just a whole ass of nothing isn't gonna cut it.

  8. I don't really mind the chest count here being so low, but it's a shame they hardly put anything interactive at all in the area. Surely a few more Eremites and bushes of Zaytun Peaches wouldn't hurt?

I guess it's quite literally just filler land at the end of the day. The map does at least look better now that the gaping hole in the middle is gone.

  9. The thing is, its not an expansion on sumeru at all. It's literally just there to not have an ugly black blob in the middle of the map. The same way theres nothing but water between Liyue and Inazuma.

  10. I am overflowing with Copium that Cyno’s quest might have a cave going underneath it (there was a cave in the trailer) that will unlock a lot of puzzles. Surely right? Aware

  11. I feel like people are making too big a deal out of this, like it is SOOO Empty that it'll almost certainly get a filler update later during some major story/event version updates.

If they had some more materials and even like just 5 Puzzles/5 chests/more animal spawns/ect then it would feel "lazily complete" and everyone would have the right to think this strange. But as is it just feels like a place holder with the current 3ish chests being placed in spots they know won't get overwritten/be in the way during a future expansion. (they could also slowly add to it over time as Character Stories release that may pass through the area)

  12. I think we can give them a break, they literally gave us another enkonomia like expansion to explore, we can excuse the small portion of the map having nothing rather than being just darkess on a map
