To be spending on a BP here and there isn't a big deal. I just wont buy wishes directly as that is a slippery slope I don't want to slide down. Battle passes at least help me build the characters I do get so I got more resin for artifacts which pulls be further forward ingame.
I'd like to argue that exploration and map expansions have little to do with newly released characters, but I have no idea how much that could contribute to the game's value from the overall player base's perspective

I have been F2P from the start in mid December 2022, and enjoy the game a lot. I do not agree that characters are the only strong point in the game: music is great (especially in Port Ormos during the day), the lore is nice (all the archon and side quests with the exception of Tsurumi and some quests in the north-western Sumeru desert), the graphics in general, I like it much more than Honkay Star Rail though I am still giving that game a chance (also as an F2P player).
I hardly have a frame of reference to compare this to anything else like HSR for example that ppl have been complaining about it dying after only a month is pretty sad as it looks good to me but yeah genshin is going strong compared to many point-and-click phone gachas out there (for lack of a better term). Seems like it's just cool to be miserable nowadays even in hobbies but hey, they prove your title fight so it's a win. Lol.

I think I spend more time on reddit looking for other people like me who largely abandoned the game, but still look to see if any of the REAL changes that have been asked for have been implemented in any way. I'm always disappointed and the Fontaine trailer was disappointing as well. Aside from the usual hype about characters…looks pretty mundane.

5:52 I see what you’re saying but I think we need more time to see what the effects really are because day after day more people are moving away from Genshin. Since Genshin has been so dominant for so long I think you won’t see the true impact until the end of the year and possibly even sooner IF Fontaine is a bust. I say that because new content whether it’s good or bad always makes the numbers go up and it feels that people’s connection to the game is more emotional than the quality of content. Additionally if you notice most reruns with Xiao do very well so…we need more time. Large games don’t just fall off a cliff so let’s wait until next year.

personally, I am not surprised. When Sumeru came out, I was excited. Then I found out it was a let down. It is tedious and boring. I'd have more fun losing every progress I have and redo them than doing a single Sumeru event, storyline.
10:30 nope Walruss its the opposite Dehya carried this Banner and u can see the numbers online nearly nobody Pulls Cyno there cause he is "not so good" and Dehya was a new Char thats why she was pulled more than Cyno. New Characters will always be pulled more often than a rerun character only exception was Tighnari vs Zhongli where people pulls Zhongli more than Tighnari.
At the end of the day, genshin and star rail are games to collect cute and cool characters and enjoy a good story, that's about it

One thing I can confirm is true that Hoyoverse loves to run a lot of ads for Genshin impact. They gain a lot of new players by that and also putting the game on the App Store like on the main page. That way they can get a lot of players who are loyal on spending Welkin moons every month or those whales that love to spend on every banner.
1. I think covering the latest banner sales is very important rather than the early to mid banners of 3.0-3.9 to find if there is any correlation between the total sales and the interest of the players toward META characters (See if more sales were purchased by META players) and see if there is any decrease in sale for META characters in the latest banners because of specific reasons such as every players already have said character.
2. It's not true that Cyno carried the duo banner, rather it was the people who loved Dehya who pulled more of Dehya disregarding how bad she was in the META
3. Maybe you can try and see if there is any other correlation that can increase character banner sales (whether it is a majority of META players contributing to those high banner sales vs Casual players contributing more).
4. Maybe cover in another new video once fontaine comes out how the hydro archon sales banner goes and see if her sale number is influenced by how good she is META-wise or if high in sales even if she's deemed as "bad" like Baizhu
About 1 month before Zelda Tears of the Kingdom came out, I replayed Breat of the Wild and even played Hyrule Warriors – Age of Calamity. And needless to say, after that for a whole month I only played Twars of the Kingdom.
In that time I didnt care about Genshin at all.
Dailies? Nah.
Time limited events? Nah.
Only more I'm slowly getting back into genshin to do the dailie, but that's it.
And I also stopped spending money on Genshin.
All the hundreds of Euros and I am not even guaranteed the characters and weapons….
Meanwhile, just 60 euroes and I got an entire game (TOTK).
To much genshin Ads from same company. I been blocking them often. Also reporting it as spamming. Just stop them from showing up often. It starting to work on stop showing up often.

hoyoverse can release a character without any advertising any trailers just out of the blue and they will still do well its sad but it is what it is
