you won’t believe this, but Genshin Impact just got hit with a $20 million fine, and it’s all about some pretty shady practices involving in-game purchases. Yep, you heard that right – $20 million. Now, you might be thinking, “What’s the deal with that? Genshin is a free-to-play game, right?” Well, yeah, but here’s the thing: the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) just came down hard on Mihoyo, the developers of Genshin, because they were doing some stuff that wasn’t exactly upfront with players about how they were spending their money.   13. lol seems FTC needs some more money to fund some other shady thing…. everyone knew what hoyo rates were, if you didn't know about the rates then are you even playing the game… its not a guessing game its a gambling game and the odds are given to you…

    I think you are being pretty disingenuous on this, we are not getting a better deal by this, just gunna change some wording and add the same counter as in ZZZ…. also to quote you "guaranteed 5 star pulls after a number of tries"….. so you mean the 90 pulls then?

    and the children gambling… that's on the parents, can a kid go into an online casino spend money and lose it, then the company gets blamed for it… the parents do have a duty of care to make sure what their kids do is safe online…

    anyone that thinks this will improve the game is either brain dead or has just started playing…. you should check out FGO pity system… 330 pulls that cost 400+ dollars, no soft pity, pity does not carry over, also no pity system on standard banners and no SR pity system. and most banners seem to last random times but none more than genshins banners.

    this is just a power move to show that they can, hope Hoyo fights this as they are not the worst, and if they have not had time to change systems based on feedback then wtf.

  17. I'm just so confused about why everyone is convinced it's because mhy is a Chinese company. One comment after another "they're not targeting other companies that are even worse, only hoyo because it's Chinese" yet they're not interested in explaining why they think this or citing any sources. I'm not sure how to take it… are they woke conspiracy theorists or what?

    Anyways whatever the reason, you cannot argue that more restrictions on gachas is a bad thing. Gachas are predatory on purpose and mhy in particular is known to have shady practices (remember the zzz CC deal??) so I'm glad to see them getting reined in. You can't defend a multibillion dollar company with the excuse "other companies are way worse." Ethics don't work that way lol.

Actually gacha system in wuwa is better than the genshin one bcz when you select any weapon it’s gauranted and not 50:50 and atleast they should now give gauranted on chronical wish banner like what they select they will get so the some thing might change bcz other wise no body will pull on chronical wish

Hoyo is making more than millions so 20million is nothing for them😂😂BTW they are NOT banning the whole game they are just gonna add the odds of the chances to get a 5star and they are gonna add the thing called "parental consent" for thoose under 16yo and that is not gonna stop the lil bros under 16 lying about their age😭😭the parental consent means that u cannot buy gennisis without it cuz kids have been stealing their parents credit cards to buy gennisis Plus some of us liked to count and do our math for wishing

  42. $400 means 200 pull which means 1 guaranteed 5 star. However during that 200 pulls, if you are lucky then even during 10 pulls you can get your 5 star.

    If they try to make it a fix amount for a character, they may do it for the older characters, not the new ones

  44. How does this help? I can finally out right buy the average? Thinks it's only kids that don't understand and also they should had sued more. 20mill is a slap on the wrist…look how much money they earned in their last popular patch :/
    I also worry if they remove Genesis crystals. Because I get them from welkin to buy skin
