“Sunset” Animated Short REACTION | Genshin Impact
#GenshinImpact #hoyocreators #Mavuika
source
you deserve more subs because I never see genshin content creator like you in this age you are like sun in dark for us who love genshin like you and I only have to say thank you
I've said this in the official video too but felt it would be appropriate to point it out here too.
After changing from the traditional Natlanese attire into the biker outfit, Mavuika began her journey towards the future. The fact that she still hasn’t changed into another outfit makes me think that she believes her journey isn’t over until Natlan is fully saved from the abyss. It’s reminiscent of how the Traveler doesn’t change his/her outfit throughout their journey.
Pause and talk man. Don't talk in between the since. Can't hear anything. Pause the video
You known about them for months? Brotha, it's been a year and more that we know of them, they are literally the first Natlan char that got mentioned via the Talking Stick BP weapon, released in 4.0 🤣
as someone whos not a fan of theatre plays and artistic plays, Fontaine was pretty mid to me. as someone who wants an epic and dramatic battle; a War, Natlan has already been peak for me before the peak of the peak is even out in 1 week. Fontaine lacked in this aspect for having an actual threat. the whale was random and came out of nowhere and with a Sovereign Dragon with his full authority present, there was hardly any reason to worry
reactions aside, thank you for speaking up about the controversy of natlan being hated by the community. honestly i don't even know how i'm gonna say to others without pointing that the latter is better than other one, and your opinion really made sense to me. it's not about how the story will make your heart heavy, it's about the way it conveys the plot with its own flow that fits the main attributes of a nation.
Greatest game in the world
I love how you started the video saying good things about natlan and why you like it so much. Since natlan was announced all i do is see people shitting on the nation and the characters for whatever reaseon despite most of it have been pretty good. Love to see people like you who not only appreciate the lore but also all the efforts that had been put in natlan worldbuilding and storytelling.
I'm looking foward you reaction to the final chapter of this archon quest and if possible watch your stream. You are really one of the best genshin CC and i hope your channel keep growing 🫶🏻
The exhausted her's scene when she was taking a break is exactly same scene as Himeko's
18:10 this scene where Mavuika looks back at the road reminds me of the Filipino phrase "Malayo pa, pero malayo na"
meaning: "There still a long way to go, but we have come a long way.” It really shows her perseverance
you drop this king 👑 so glad to see positive genshin players around
Why Mavuika in the past somehow remind me of Venessa
Genshin Goat streamer for a reason 🗿🙏🏻
This short gave me a lot of frieren vibes
Arnold, people like you will always hard carry this community, and that's a hill I'll always die on. I truly appreciate how passionate you are when it comes to the lore and world-building in genshin. Lore gamers on top!!
I woke up and decided to watch a banger animation video with arnold reacting to it! And my 26 mins wasnt wasted! And Merry Christmas Y'all Hope y'all have a wonderful christmas eve
Have been waiting for your reaction lol 😂loved it ❤
Ngl, I remember watching a lot of RWBY discussions back im the day, including yours, as well as Volume 4 being the last bit of time I spent with it and the series as a whole before dropping it entirely. Full disclosure, I do not regret that decision nor has there been anything I've seen from current RWBY that unironically looks as good or even better from the time I dropped the show. But there is one thing I remember im terms of a more positive influence and it was your content. You're a very positive person acter all but also not lacking in general understanding of proper storytelling. I would imagine that we differ on what counts as objectively good storytelling given that I know you still enjoy RWBY and I do not that I personally believe go beyond opinions but I have always respected your ability to engage in discourse and conversation regarding what makes good writing.
The reason I say all this is because you are literally the only online personality with presence that's actually engaged with Genshin Impact on it's level unlike most CC's out there. I certainly have my hang ups with early Genshin storytelling but you've played and shared not just your experience with the main and side content from the game but actually went in depth with it, analyzed it and treated it as something to not just playthrough but actually experience. One issue I have always had with the Genshin community is the general lack of wanting to really get down to Genshin's level in order to understand it. Its this inability to read between the lines when needed and take closer looks when the game begs you to that led to things like Archons being misunderstood, plot points being ignored, memes giving false impressions and this feeling of narrow minded perspective prevailing as the only opinion worth sharing. I still find it baffling ti this day how people treated Furina's character literally uo until the last quest when the game was throwing out an abundance of hints that she wasn't at all what she presented herself as yet everyone was fully locked into the idea that she was clearly doing bad or was just annoying for no reason. We're literally going through another crazy controversy right now with Natlan and its specifically being honed in on the idea that everyone has their immersion broken because of a damn bike, its so frustrating to see that dominate discussion on a number of threads.
What I'm trying to say is, I genuinely appreciate someone like you who's not only willing to put forth the effort to understand a story but make a point to say that there is more to what's being shown and that diving deeper shouldn't be some made up sin for storytelling. Genshin certainly has issues in quite a few departments still but I think what disappoints me most is the lack of(I really hate to use this term because it sucks and is misused) media literacy when it comes to Genshin. I can understand the idea of just wanting to play the game but dismissing the story entirely because its too different or supposedly too abstract is insane to me
for me as a native american, there are of course things i don't love about natlan, but storywise i think there's a lot to hit. people really seemed to have missed the parallels of the colonial age and the consequences of genocide and ethnic cleansing during natlan act 4, but it was super clear to me and i think for many bipoc that's super resonant. natlanese being given the agency to protect their culture and people both and not have it seem like culture is a simple sacrifice is super good. mavuika sacrificing her artifacts in her room is obviously a metaphor for erosion caused by imperialism, and the fact that they turned the "violent savage" native stereotype on its head by revealing that natlan is the nation of war because it HAS to be rather than because the people are bloodthirsty was very masterful to me. they don't choose the war but there is also not another choice, because to lose vigilance is to lose it all, and that's very relevant even today. it's a little sad to see more people not realizing it, but i guess if you get it you get it and if you don't you don't. thank you for your always enriching commentary and enjoyable videos! best genshin creator, easily.
I dont know how they will make the anime (or if they will make it at all), but i dont want a recap of Traveler’s main journey. I want a recap of Archon War. I want an animation of the world quests. I want animation depicting genshin’s fairytales and books. Not that Traveler’s journey not interesting, but as a player, i would want to see other sides of Teyvat that we might have missed or only read as text.
Yeah, something like this.
Holy shit I only just found you and I'm so in love with your reaction. In a sea of negativity, I appreciate just how much you love Genshin. I also appreciate the understanding that you have of the lore. Can't wait to backtrack and see all of your older lore content!
I'm choking up.😢
I wonder how did they use elements. I dont see their visions. Natlan warriors from 500 years ago are just built different.
Tupac died standing. What a badass.
Ofc it was Arnold who noticed that the journey Mavuika was going on was a representation of time passing
It is about each region not being the same and having a different story and having a main story of what will happen with the traveler but I really don’t have hope with the traveler story because it seems it’s has so far not been about him/her and is about the region. Waiting years for it has just lost a bit of hype. You think they will make a genshin part 2? After all this is done like they did with HI3
Glad this was fully voiced in EN since we're still in for a long haul.
I actually enjoyed this short it's a shame some people are hating it just because it's not like Arlecchino's
Last year they did Arlecchino animated short and its really spoiled plot twist in her story quest that came out later.
So i really don't know if i should watch that one now
"Inheritance of an Ancient Name" always hits.
I understand you're a lot about lore buuut… can you shut up for once and just enjoy the watch?~
Random thought I had while watching Sunset for the umpteenth time: what if Mavuika's sister, Hine, is short for "Hineko"?
Just thinking out loud @MurderofBirds Impact
Not sure if you noticed Arnold, but starting at 15:50 you can see mile marker signs at that rest stop. The first one (lying on the broken bench at 15:50 into your video) has 66 on it. The number goes up when the round sign is visible in subsequent drive bys. It reads 499 when visible after Mavuika gets back up to get back on her motor after talking to Hine.
Mile markers showing the passage of 500 years. Interesting detail.
Gonna chime in with many other comments here to show my appreciation to all the hard work you & your fellow editors put in these videos. I only recently discovered your content, & it was actually through one of those reaction mashups for Genshin cutscenes. In that sea of people being featured in the video, your reaction definitely stood out the most, so I got interested to check out your channel & I was not disappointed at all. I'm a fellow story-focused player as well & enjoy the lore a lot, but admittedly it was hard for me to follow for a good while as they tend to scatter bits & pieces of lore everywhere, so having a CC like you creating this series where you explore the story & lore more in-depth is an absolute treat for me. Not to mention, being able to watch your livestreams for literal hours & still feel thoroughly entertained is definitely rare for me lol, & I think that speaks for the quality of your content & the hard work you put into it
All & all, thank you again for all the efforts you & your editors put into these videos. I, among many others, truly appreciate your hard work & hope that your channel can continue to grow with success 🙌🌟
Honestly, I have nothing else than praise for both you and the Genshin team.
Your content has always been top-notch and my go-to, whenever I'm looking for things related to Genshin, and even Star Rail,
And the Genshin team has been doing an amazing job not only with the lore, but the designs and cinematics/animations as well, in my opinion.
Merry christmas everyone! Just about a week until next patch gets released!! Hope you all have a lovely holiday!
"I LOVE YOU MURDEROFBIRDS" We say in unison!
i havent finished watching the video but i have to say: absolute based intro.
i love the idea of "i like this, because its different." more ppl need to take this approach, rather than "this is bad cuz its not like the stuff before"
I was waiting for the big lore masters but you got it first. Good reaction
Arnold, I just wanted to say how much I appreciate your content! There was a time when I was obsessed with watching people’s first-time experiences playing Genshin Impact because I wanted to see others feel as hyped about it as I was. Out of everyone, you were the one who truly stood out. Watching your videos made me love the game even more than I already did!
I genuinely admire your hard work and dedication, especially how you dive deep into the lore and story. You’ve helped me understand parts of the game I might have overlooked, and your passion for the game shines through in everything you do. It’s clear how much effort you put into memorizing and studying the story, and it’s inspiring to see.
I hope to see you grow into one of the most successful YouTubers and build an even bigger community of people who share the same love for Genshin as you do. Thank you for making this journey even more enjoyable for all of us❤
13:08 didn't citlali already stated in the event that tenoch and sanhaj both died in the mare jivari incident . Now I'm confused 😕
When you stop to think about it Natlan owes a HUGE debt to Hine because Mavuika almost didn't make it to the finish line either as herself or at all because the stop where she paused for a break and was reminded by Hine of her mission was indeed 500 given the stop before that was 499
Just started the video but I absolutely agree with the your point of that the reason the game story is great is that each so called "cycle" is different even if its generally the same loop of "traveler helping a nation with its deep rooted problem". While its fair that every player has a personal favourite, underlying one part because its different from another isnt as a fun of a perspective to enjoy the lore. I personally while at first thought act 4 of natlan being my absolute favourite while playing it, looking back after month now, i still find furina's scene inwhich she started crying after almost breaking down from living a lie for 100s of years probably in my top 3 most favourite moments of a media i had ever seen. Im a sucker for stories that show the horrors of immortality which is why I find Salem from RWBY as an insanely well written villain because its quite logical at a certain point, the value of me ending my unending suffering would outweigh the lifes of everyone else.
Sorry for the yap i just love your perspective on things and wanted to share some rwby geeking with a fellow fan
