Summertide Scales and Tales Story explained (Genshin Impact 4.8 Lore and Recap)

the summertide scales and tales was pretty fun. i enjoyed its a classic story format with its own fun twist, brining back old genshin impact lore that will now become future genshin impact lore lol. well see how it plays out. cast was fun, random as hell but fun. wandere navia kirara and nilous. what a group. theres a good amount of things to talk about after this recap, thanks to the hexenzirkel popping out, esp with regards to fate, see what we can do. but after that its emilie sq (if its good) but then natlan. kinda wild. although I still needa do the side quests, been busy so kinda tough. thankfully not much of natlan other mualina and kinich gameplay has been leaked so no barbeloths in the comment sections lol. regardless im sure theres some connection to natlan in here within the story. 5.0 should be fun

Chapters:
0:00 Intro
0:30 summer event recap

  1. The Hexenzirkel have been appearing quite a bit since version 3.X (either being mentioned or we hear their voices) especially yet with every appearance there are more questions than answers. When are they going to play an actual important role in this story, and more importantly, when will we get that Rhinedottir boss fight that needs to happen?

  2. So glad I'm not the only one peeved by the fact they turned Durin into a cutesy mini dragon instead of helping the people accept him as he was. Loved the rest of the event story, but that part rubbed me the wrong way

  3. Okay but honestly when i saw that wanderer is the real hero and the real protagonist of this place i was soooooooooo fucking happy. He is my favorite character. And seeing him finally be a protagonist was so cool. And also, the name of my traveler isn't my real name. I named her something else. But i named wanderer after my real name. So i kinda foreshadowed h being a protagonist. And listen, i can keep yapping about how much i love him and how happy i was, but im gonna give your eyes a break. Go sleep mf

  4. 13:39 okay I'm gonna quote a certain line from the wanderer character teaser with the context that he said it after he saw that his friend (the kid) had died. And now you find the connection: "… in fact, i wish i had never been born at all"

I mean bro, it's not only the same wish, but it's literally the same line. The same sentence. I mean durin literally used the same words

  5. Bro is it just me or does mini durin looks like a creature from natlan. Maybe an animal or an enemy. I swear they always do this. They always play with our hearts and then make us kill them. First it was last year when we saw hydro eidlons, and guess what? We had to kill them in fontaine. The same is with mini durin

Edit: 17:15 and this part was literally a foreshadowing that we're going to encounter mini durin or somethings like him in teyvat

  6. Whai i just realized that everytime you said andersdottir or whatever you said, you were saying rhinedottir. Bro that's not how you say it. I was wondering for 15 minutes that who the hell is this guy that he keeps talking about

  7. Ain't no way they literally made the takeaway of the story be that if you're discriminated and shunned for who you are even tho you're nice and just trying to make friends, just change to conform to the discriminators views and ideals? 💀

  8. Hear me out! The summer events are usually a prelude for what will come in the next region, so….

The three gods are most likely references to the Moon Sisters, and the 3 Shades. The Maori god, Mahuika is related to the Maori god of death, so just like Egeria related to the shade of Death, The Pyro Archons might be related to the shade of Death.
And Nilou herself is usually a reference to Nabu Malikata, the only known Seelie. And Columbina will presumably be in Natlan, and it's clear that she's the ancestor Seelie.
So perhaps just like the Summer Event, she'll restore color to the paper white residents of Natlan! (I'm only half kidding. She'll probably be used to fix Natlan somehow, though.)

I think we'll learn more about the Shades, and hopefully our Beloved Sustainer!

  9. So the way Alice says "yes eventually he can visit Theyvat" or something to that effect. She seems to want to say more and just dont. Keep in mind hiding or not telling something is not the same as lying. Alice cannot lie if you confront her directly but she can hide information or not tell part of a story. I think there is a potential that Mondstadt it self is a fairy tale similar to Simulanka and the "toy people" living inside that world are represented by Hillichurls that is people that never found their fate. Durin in the real world would suffer a similar fate as in the Toy world, that is being miss understood and this is exactly what happens when he fights Dvalin. There is a real possiblity that Durin was invented from a fairy tale rather than born, because it only says that Rhinedottir "made" Durin, well if she moved him from a fairytale world to the real world that would make her the "creator" The connection between Scaramouche and Durin reminds me of the connection Childe had to the Narwhal it is possible that to break out of fate Scaramouche has to defeat Durin in the real world to be master of his own fate.

  10. you did make the vid just a tad early
    SPOILERS for the secret!

The secret is that the real Durin is going to come back to life in Mondstadt. Albedo makes a guest appearance and talks about how he's been monitoring the heart and it is indeed growing stronger, and that Wanderer will have to be there to help as their fates are now intertwined because of mini Durin. 😀

  11. My mind sparked when Albedo mentioned the Resurrection of durin. I'm curious if the project stuzha with the fatui and Natlan connected to the rise of R's child from the grave.

  12. The other thing that made me laugh for a minute was Mona saying “Be careful!? Now you’re making me nervous!” And I think it was just in the way she said it

  13. there’s some pages you can read somewhere in the event and at the bottom it’s tagged A.A.
at first i was like “but we don’t know Alice’s last name? no way it’s her”. then i saw “Anya” in the flashbacks and that makes sense now. Anya Andersdotter. Alice really did steal “A”
