The issue isnt temporary content, it's whether there is something to do after exploration which is usually zero

I want the game become harder we f2p and low spendr will have more fun and challenging as for whale they will feel bored because constellation will 1 shot as always.

I am actually a little excited.. remember that from patch 1.6 to 2.1 actually slapped.. and it's that time again.. the patches leading to sumeru can be pretty good.. I hope they don't mess it up

BUT when you hit 6-8k autos without superconduct it do be like that sometimes.
We need to get a new gameplay mechanic along with Dendro and a new replayable and permanent game mode which should be as hard as floor 12 or harder.
I just want some dendro characters already.

Well, got to disagree with the character releases helping. Characters are not content, they are just reasons to grind the same places over and over. They help Hoyoverse with monetization, but they are not REAL content.
Content is exploring and new challenging enemies to fight, ones that would make new characters fun. If you have the same, easy enemies you can one-shot with your starter character’s E, a new character is not really adding anything. At any time, you can just go back to your leveled characters and destroy the current content with 0 challenge or skill. The game is easy. TOO easy.
Also, playing Starbucks barista with the SAME ANIMATION over and over is not content or fun.
I just want permanent content. I will keep writing essays to Mihoyo about it too -especially how making lore into limited time events isn't fun for new players.
Like how many other comments have pointed out, they really need to have more content to incentivize players to keep playing. Ayato alone can't carry the entire patch, and while Chasm will increase play time, it's not a permanent fix. Same goes with Sumeru and any other new area they add, I mean the current patch is a good example of this. Even someone like me who doesn't rush exploring, can easily clear most of the new stuff in 1-2 days.
you see, i think miHoYo would be fine with Genshin dropping down in popularity. they already got their money investment back so Genshin revenue dipping down a bit wouldn't faze them. look at Honkai. that's miHoYo's main game and it is not as big as Genshin. but miHoYo still do something for that game despite lower playerbase. i think miHoYo prefers smaller but more dedicated customers since its easier to manage their demands.
If they add mounts in the game. Traveling wouldn't feel so much of a chore.
Tbh I dont think Sumeru being amazing is enough, after all its just new content which will be cleared after some time and then same things will hapen, hoyo needs to focus on some end game content, on making resin less frustrating and just making things other than exploring be actually fun as well since you will explore everything at some point and be left with nothing to do

Let's be real genshin have very to little search right now, the only thing that keep it still has a number is some degen searching rule 34 with genshin tag on it. With how it goes sumeru not only has to be brilliant, it has to also be extremely generous, more than what they would think what is being generous mean to drag back the player.. And also they have to have some kind of repeatable content or stuff meaningful for people to do to at least keep the player busy, make it optional so if you don't want to you don't have to and you wouldn't miss out much anyway.. cause the ones quitting it, are not hating the game, they just realize how badly the game designed, you have new map, go solve some puzzle, and that's it, You're done. Some extra story quest that full of useless dialogues, adding event to grab gems nobody would care. I have to say, anyone that quit the game ? wouldn't come back, it's not like they dislike the game or frustration with 50/50 and quit, even if they make pity at 30 and no 50/50 it's still the same damn thing again, they realize the repetitive the game is and can not be better due to being a gacha game, which imply they have to use the "stamina type" of system. Which also imply they cannot make any content that is meaningful without costing resin. So, just move on, plenty more titles showing up again and turns out genshin is not that special, it just simply release exactly the time when every other games have to delay due to pandemic and nobody has anything to play..
would you look at that genshin like many other gacha games is most likely only two years of healthy player count. Only thing I regret was spending more money than I should because people where saying this game would last 10 years
