  1. Bold of you to assume that these kinds of people are knowledgeable enough on this subject to even know what China is doing to their own people

  3. Am I the only one who is not sad or angry if sumeru is being based on india or south asia cause india is geographically beautiful and I would love to see what mihoyo does with sumeru

  4. People care too much about representation and not the content and the hard work those developers did. I'm so sick of seeing people argue it the littlest things, hope we can bring back the time where we make memes out of paimon. And not about how kaeya looks too pale, too dark.

  5. Inazuma is based on Japan which lies in eastern Asia. South Asia is going to be the Dendro region (India, Indonesia, etc). And what part of European culture is mixed in? Some of these people literally have no idea what they're talking about.

  6. Why do people get so hung up on things like this now? Your entertainment doesn’t have to have a deeper meaning, in fact why should it? It’s for escapism. Reminds me when I started watching Friday night funkin. Just a rhythm game but it managed to get drama too. I get it, life sucks and you want meaning but this ain’t it

  7. its just embarrassing that this is literally a VIDEO GAME. if they’re so ashamed and annoyed about the ‘lack of representation’ then maybe they should stop playing and leave the community.

  8. As someone with a deep passion for art history, this is the most basic brain dead take on this. Every new fictional world is taking inspiration from real life cultural aesthetics and customs.

These people are just looking to be mad about something.

  9. Genshin Impact's different regions, the characters and cultures in them are "Inspired" by real world countries and culture. They do not "Represent" said real world countries and cultures. This ignorant TikTok fool clearly cannot fathom or comprehend the difference. I'd say a water flea or even a rock has more intelligence. I genuinely hope this person doesn't play Genshin Impact or any other video game for that matter.

  10. Why is it that the people arguing isnt even the race they are defending. Shes not southeast asian, or middle eastern or Egyptian. Note to everyone, if the race itself has no problem with it then there is no problem. Stop trying to "defend" others cultures when they themselves dont care.

  11. To what I know , genshin is actually just trying to make the game as exciting as possible for their players , if people want to shit one someone they should chose the communist party

  12. Something like that happened to me on tiktok, someone changed the race of a genshin character and everyone told them to die and to delete their account, the thing is, i don't understand why. Because changing a video game character race for fun is not that bad. It's just a representation of how they would actually look like if they were black, yet others said that it was racism and ethny erasure, yet the character itself didn't changed! It's not like the person who changed their race wanted them to officially be black?
    I really hate tik tok

This woman looks like she needs to pay bills, not rant about some update some game devs make about a game which encourages people to explore so no duh its gonna have exploration of other places. Based on the fact she is ranting about something this pointless you know she has not "explored" outside of her room in years.

  14. I don't understand people talking about representation on this game, like, it's a fucking fantasy game that takes place on some strange magical dimension, even if stuff there is inspired by stuff in the real world the characters don't have any race related to the real world. It's like saying there aren't enough black people in FF7's Midgar, it's some fucking fantasy dystopian city, it doesn't have and it doesn't need to have the same standards as the real world.

  15. As an egyptian I looked that the section for Sumeru in the trailer and went "cool this is based off egypt" knowing damn well not everything will be accurate (which is ok). Then I googled a bit and it said it was "based off south asian and middle eastern areas" and went "cool more cultures". And lemme tell you- Egyptians really don't care if someone is wearing nubis or anubis or rah or whatever. Y'all can put molokhiya in a game and we would be happy because something egyptian is shown.

(Not gonna lie, I think what's more egyptian than pyramids is a grandma making a fuss that you didn't bring her the right grape leaves for Wara' 'inab while stuffing your face with food. )

Us technically egypt is an arabic and middle eastern country and all the ancient egypt stuff is only tourist stuff and things we dress up as in plays. Some say that we are in asia, some say we are in africa, but people only care about this because egypt takes part in the african football games, not asian. Trust me, I don't think most egyptians would be offended by this because racism and cultural appropriation and stuff isn't really an issue there. What is though it the class separation and cruel governme-
