I repeatedly BAWLED my eyes out at the opera scene.
shenhe being a gift to liyue is cloud retainer's way of saying that they need a bridge between the humans and the adepti. as someone who was raised by adepti but is still human, shenhe can connect with humanity in a way that not even half-adepti characters like ganyu and yanfei can. it's not that anything is going to "happen" to liyue, its more of a unifying of the two as liyue enters its new age.
in some quests and events, you can find some characters in the overworld! lantern rite was one of these as well 🙂 you couldve run into ga ming, zhongli, xiao, keqing, qiqi, etc. its always nice to look around in limited events that are related to festivals
I cried two times when I first played this quest. This was my first introduction to professional Chinese opera when I played this quest when it came out back then, I love how Genshin spreads amazing culture to the world 💖
Just for a little background information,
This quest came out in Version 2.4 and is “optional” in a sense, but it’s completely fine because canonically it doesn’t matter if you play this before or after the next main line Archon Quests (next main line Archon quests being the Dainsleif quests(1.4), before/going to Inazuma(1.6), and Inazuma itself (2.0-2.1)

hoyo knows what they're doing when they put two of the best characters together in the same version(kazuha best support, neuvilette best dps).
Tbh, Neuvi is such an insane character. He's really good at c0. Very f2p friendly. But you'd have to go to Fontaine, Wander! 🤔🤔
If u have neuvillette you are pretty much a one man army even for abyss.

Shenhe's story will always be so special to me. It's so beautifully told from start to finish, it's genuinely emotional. So great seeing you play through it and appreciate the quest too. 😊

Also, Neuvillette is the most powerful dps as of right now, so trying to pull him is a good idea

1:32:25 Oh i really wish you really tried Yanfei's Charged Attack (Holding her normal attack), it was one of satisfying move from her!
And some tips before using her charged attack, use normal attack 3 times cause it will make her charged attack bigger and deal more dmg
A cultural note: in many Asian countries it's common to refer to older people as Auntie/Uncle/Granny/etc. [Name] (and sometimes people around your age as little/big brother/sister) even if you're not related to them. This can create some confusion with translations, such as Shenhe calling that NPC "Uncle" even though she's likely not directly related to him. (She may be! But more likely he's just an older guy from the village she's from and she's referring to him respectfully.) There's also the concept of people being 'sworn brothers/sisters' which doesn't indicate blood relation or adoption, but a strong bond to the other person that was pledged via oath/ceremony. Just some things to keep in mind as you move forward, which might help prevent confusion.
Also: Rosaria is technically on every banner, but she doesn't have a rate up boost right now so it would be kind of a fluke to get her. It wouldn't be a bad idea to go for Neuvillette if you like his playstyle, he's fantastic both in terms of damage and story/characterization. You want to remain somewhat close to the droplets he creates on the field, as he can 'absorb' them to reduce the ramp-up time for his laser beam charged attack! This makes it less likely he'll be interrupted. (And absorbing them also heals him!)
Ofc it’s up to you who to pull! 😀 but Neuvi’s probably the strongest character in the game atm 💪

this is a story that made me feel so so much! and has always stayed with me. the opera cutscene is just the cherry on top, it just hits straight in the heart 🥺 it also made shenhe one of my most cherished character's in this entire game :') too bad i don't have her yet T T been hoping for her rerun since ages, let's hope it is soon! 🤞
There is no "supposed to" on when this story is to be done. You can do it as early as soon as finishing Liyue main story, or as late as the end of Fontaine. It's an interlude, meaning it can be done at any time after being unlocked and the dialogue will change based off of what you've completed
You know, some characters have "interesting" story like shenhe, some have in story quest, some you have to read in their bio but you have to upgrade their friend level. OR your gangster provide the video lore to you react them hehe.
About the quest order, I think you doing good job coz after archon quest, there's interlude quest that provide continuous event after the specific region quest, there's the continuous of traveler's quest, and there's also quest before you go to next region. I think there's no order coz they opened already😅

Shenhe's story quest is one of the most memorable things in the game ngl. She is also one of the only two 5* characters (that you may or may not want on your team already lmao) who don't have story quests and have arhcon quest interlude chapters as their own instead. I think that's… an honor, but also a pity.
Also, this was my first exposure to Chinese opera and I LOVED it
I'm glad they added a new line for Beidou when you first meet her. She greeted me as if we had long known each other when I hadn't even gotten her back then lmao,,,, like, sure, it can happen in temporary event quests, but this one was a keeper so it was weird.
Man I'd love to get both Shenhe and Eula, but they refused to come home. They know I only want them for the cool factor asdfdsfd
Heart eyes over Rosaria is completely understandable, she is great in many ways. If you are lucky you can get her as a random drop, I don't think she will be on the next banner just yet, but it has been a little while since she was featured. (Try ascending everyone past lvl20, the free wishes may grant you a vampire nun)
(Xiangling is a 6* like Bennett, which is why I don't use her, either. She can be used on any team and probably out damage your dps… but if I wanted to use her, I'd definitely want an afk team with Kaeya, Fischl and Layla or Zhongli ngl.)
I should build my Feifei again… she was my first dps and now she lies, forgotten, with random artifacts at lvl80. Le sigh (her one-two-three BOOM playstyle is neat I think. one just has to keep in mind that her seals and burst disappear when you switch off of her)
Tip: plunging attacks break hard rocks much faster, there are almost always elevated platforms or boulders around to help you with it (unless you have a bow or catalyst character out, they do negative rock damage)
Also, for future reference… you can just teleport to the Jade Chamber
Wait… they give you a handful of ascension materials for Shenhe nowadays? Wild… but understandable. Unlocking that boss would take Roamer half a year, if not more.
Just fyi, Genshin can become a horror game at times. Not in looks… but in scripts and implications. The next archon quest you must do was the definitive tonal change imo. Everything changes when you actually see… a body.
Do a charged attack with yanfei, the damage will be insane

24:25 Since you played the Interlude chapter first, this was your first time meeting Beidou. But if you start the Inazuma quest first, the dialogue will be changed because it assumes you've already met her.
Please do Dainsleif quest first 😊

Neuvilette is one of my favorites in this game. One of the most powerful DPS if not THE most. If you liked his play style, you should definitely pull for him. Rosaria you can get from the standard banner. She does good damage, I do not regret building her
