  1. It's kinda implied that when he becomes the wanderer that he basically scrubbed the Irminsul tree of his past identities, sorta like what Spider-Man wanted in No Way Home, or at least, that's why the version trailer implies from both the preview clip with Paimon and the dialog lines from the preview hint at.

  2. This demo is after the 3.3 archon quest, we’ll have to see what happens tomorrow to understand why the fatui don’t know scara.

But from my speculation I believe scaramouche is using the Irminsul tree to remove himself from others memories. That’s why the fatui don’t know him. Also I don’t think scara will get factory reset, after all during the trailer you can see how he still has his cocky personality.

  3. Everyone saying that he's erasing himself from Irminsul based on what he says in the trailer needs to remember that Hoyo very frequently overlays audio from different points onto different visuals to stir up hype and misdirection.

Remember how the 3.1 trailer implied that Dehya was working with the sages, and teased a huge fight between Al Haitham, Cyno, and Dehya about their allegiance? And then, in the AQ itself, none of that actually happened?

Or the 3.2 trailer, where they put Nahida crying with audio about Scaramouche becoming a god, to make us eager to play the story and beat up the sages and Scaramouche, only for them to have nothing to do with why she was crying?

That's leaving aside the fact that we have no reason to think he could erase himself from Irminsul in the first place–he'd likely need to ask Nahida to do it for him, and there's no way she would agree to do it.

"From this day forth, Balladeer and Kabukimono will cease to exist" sounds a lot more metaphorical than literal. He's just discarding those names to become The Wanderer.
