  1. Didn't she also give up her bodly form a second time after making the robot puppet shogun? I think shes technicly dead again? What a slap in the face to her sister. Her sister makes this body for her and she toss's it away and makes a robot. She totally could of made the robot puppet and not give up her body… unless she had to give up her body to make the puppet?? hmm. I figure she could of kept her body and still went to the plane of euthiymia? and not tossed away her body. Cause now she can only exsist through the puppet. Surprised she didnt make the puppet to look like her sister… but that probs would of been creepy, even more desperate and even more sad… Hmm.

  2. I legit came across a youtube short talking about Ei's death and sacrifice for makoto long before this vid and the dude who made it got so much hate comments from his theory even though he linked sources. People couldn't believe Ei died for Makoto and its so amusing how this needed a bigger platform in order to inform people and present it as acceptable and decided to attack that smol creator instead.

  3. This would have been some good characterization for Ei–more personal (and therefore better for the construction of empathy) and less childish than what we got. More than a layer, it would have been the core root, and the fear of erosion/time the outer layer. Because really, some universal fears like the fear of loss and time can have some hardwired/biological origin, but the most compelling and interesting fears always stem from personal situations, which lead to personally flawed survival systems..behaviors that we must follow at all costs to avoid the repetition of that terrible situation from the past.

In what we got in the Inazuma quest, the fear of loss and fear of time (the latter of which led to Ei's plane of Euthymia) didn't connect very well to each other and to Ei's personal experience, because Ei lost her friends to war/battle/corruption, not to time. So, the decision to trying to "stop time" for her nation and herself (aka her survival system) lacks the connection to her personal experience, which isn't the best characterization.

In this alternative version, instead, Ei would have lost Makoto not to battle, but to her memory vanishing, which she could easily have associated with erosion (even though it was mostly due to her lack of understanding of Makoto's views on existence), thus leading to her flawed survival system of isolation and stagnation as a direct solution to avoid the repetition of that experience. It makes stuff more personal, it colors fear with guilt (thus characterizing it further), and it gives an operative quality to the survival system, an attempt to reach a goal, which is also essential for the construction of empathy (maybe a part of Ei hoped that some of Makoto's will was still buried in her own mind, and by taking refuge in the plane of Euthymia she was trying to stop erosion from consuming it, while also maybe recovering it in all the meditation she did in her realm?)

Anyhow, cool video and very well thought idea.👍

  4. I hope hoyo would make things more clearer with Ei's character and story. She has such an interesting, sad, deep and complicated past/identity. But maybe in the future, hoyo will let us know/understand her char more.

  5. books are a bit different with artifacts or weapons lore since I think artifacts and weapons lore are the only omniscient narration, and character story details and voice over are also "truth" since the character said it themself, but books are different, someone wrote it just like many tale books ingame, even Zhongli debunk some books or storyteller, yet this mysterious book with unknown origin has been validated by Ei herself to be somewhat correct lol

  6. I have a crack pot theory, it has no real basis but I like time travel and in Raiden Ei's story quest 2 it adds in time travel and paradoxes. And because I like Soul Reaver. I think Raiden Ei is Raiden Makoto at the same time, but from different points of time. Notice how Ei slowly understood Makoto's thought process and philosophy and was becoming more idealistic and altruistic as opposed to how she was originally being pragmatic, cold and in the moment. It seemed like Raiden Ei was slowly becoming like Raiden Makoto and then Raiden Shogun was having problems with Raiden Ei was becoming too soft. Then at the end of the quest Raiden Ei was finally able to convince Raiden Shogun and they both ended up having a similar relationship as Raiden Ei did with Raiden Makoto.

What if Raiden Ei slowly becomes like Raiden Makoto in the future and then for some reason she had to go back in time to create the paradox for the cycle to keep going. Lightning comes before Thunder. What if Future Raiden Ei who has become weaker but mentally stronger and mature went back in time to the moment she was born and pretended to be born as twins with her Past Self and named herself Raiden Makoto in order to guide her past self and to create the paradox for this to keep going on. It would turn the whole Raiden being both dead and alive and 2 halves being 1 whole into a cycle. History abhors a Paradox as they are Eternal.

  7. @Chill with Aster Not about death, but about Ei. Rewatching her video, I noticed that she was talking about the world in dreams. Her space of the doll is the "Oneiric Euthymia", which means the Euthymia of dream. Besides, Makoto stank of Dreams. Perhaps this topic of sumeru dream was raised from Inazuma(in multiple meanings). especially in light of the events of Honkai

  8. My suggestion on how you can improve your presentation of the content. Even though your idea and insight on the subject are incredible, there are few things:
(Keep in mind I'm not a lore expert, this simply might helps viewer understand your theory or overall content better and easier)

-Split your content into section, adjust background music for the opening: most of your video is You talking for a straight up 5-10 minutes, Viewer (like me) find themselves overwhelmed with information. Check out LEMMiNO's or another genshin CC, Braxophone's video for more context.

-What you talk vs what you put on the video are out of sync, making viewer have a splitting detail of what they should focus on thinking: For ex.: "welcome to the story of Scarlet King" Video showed words: Who is Scarlet King? -this often are confusing to watch. Often time your background scene in various of your video showing the same cutscene over, It'd be nice if it's relate to specific region you're talking about: Sumeru lore – Sumeru, desert, Forest background instead of *An Artifact image + Liyue character background*.
Another in this video: "According to the treasure tales of the-…" showing a book, with Cutscene background including subtitle – Again, very confusing, It'd be easier to have a blurred cutscene with a picture showing detail of the lore you mentioned, or a cutscene showing character talking about detail you mentioned, Overall anything in-game related prove would be better. Check out VaatiVidya's Soul Lore series and his presentation for more context.

-Putting Disclaimer and mention of your past video: This is a scary territory, we're talking about Genshin, a community that's quite notorious for its toxicity, but if you're confident in what you do, NOT putting Disclaimer and showing your evidence throughout your video is a very nice way to do, or you can put it first things in your vid. Mentioning your past content: a blurred background with exactly your previous video content Thumbnail would be very nice things to do.

Good luck and keep up the good work.

  9. Ngl, the last bit made me tear up. There have been many scenarios in animes that fall in the lines of "I'm supposed to die, why am I still alive" and/or "why can't I do the same for someone I love and care about". And honestly, moments like this never fail to make me sad.

  10. Since the REal Ei has only been considered and addressed as a Conciousness while the Shogun only refers to herself as "it" and "this body" I had always figured that in one way or another that Ei did in fact die at some point. I'm glad that you explained this, even in theory form, because it gives me a greater understanding of when Ei most likely died. This is cool!
