We only spoke with Ei when we were in the Plane of Euthymia, and we also spoke to her after everything took place once she was able to leave the Plane and actually use the Shogun’s body.
When we fight her, we are fighting Ei, since we are in the Plane of Euthymia, but physically who we travel with and tend to speak to is the Shogun, since Ei doesn’t have a physical body, unless you want to count the sword as her body.
But, her voice actor does a great job in making it easy to decipher the difference between Ei and the Shogun.
They’re basically two different characters in one model, so it explains the differences.
