Raiden Shogun's Hidden Motive | Genshin Impact Theory

What is Raiden Shogun, the Electro Archon of Inazuma, hiding under her cold exterior?
Why does she use her powers to take control of Inazuma in Genshin Impact?
Is there a deeper reason behind her actions?

Raiden Shogun is known to be a cold leader with rules and enforcements that seem unreasonable to the humans of Inazuma. In this Genshin Impact Theory video, I will attempt to theorize the meaning behind Raiden Shogun’s actions, the meaning of the Vision Hunt Decree and the meaning of the Statue of Thousand Armed, Hundred Eyed God.

How close are we to uncover the secrets of the world of Teyvat and Visions that so many humans strive to obtain? Why is Raiden trying to strip away the Vision from humans? And what role does Yae Miko play in the story of Inazuma?
All these questions answered in this video with theories backed up with in-game details and real life references.

Welcome to Genshin Impact Theory.

Raiden is busted?

Genshin Impact Patch, new update, new Story Quests and world quests. Housing, new bosses, new events. Eula cancelled? But will we get more, awesome super, story quest that gives us more information about the lore of Genshin Impact. High damage and one shotting bosses are great. Memes are also super funny. But the story and lore is the one of the best aspect in this game. Looking forward to Inazuma when it finally releases.

  1. Way too deeply? Not at all, just look at Honkai Impact… MiHoyo way to build lore is very, very, very deep and complicated… Genshin certainly have much, much more to be discovered yet…

  2. It's interesting that Lisa, an electro character, who is very skeptical of using her vision, saying we don't know what the price of that power is, was given an Electro vision by Baal…

  3. I hope the fact that the Traveler doesn't use or need a Vision yet still obtains Electro powers, which normally would also require the Electro Archon's blessing, is a major plot point in the Inazuma story.

  4. Hey, this is just a thought, but, what if the original Electro Archon wasn't Yae Miko? What if it was Yae Rin?

The previous Mihoyo games have a tenuous relationship with Genshin at best, but the talk of Samsara and Yae in relationship to each other rings more than a few bells, so I started thinking. And well, Yae Sakura was never a Herrscher, at least fully. However, PE Rin was.

  5. Hmm… if Zhongli started the plan a year ago, all of it starts to make sense now.

Tsaritsa hastened her Gnosis Hunt to match with the timing of Zhongli, so she can gather all the Gnoses in one fell swoop.
Raiden, realizing her own eternity might be at risk, decided something pretty awesome. She'd do what's good while being bad, and then be the target of a revolution. When she's dethroned and/or killed, she wants Yae to now take over, and lead the nation to its eternity. The people are at peace with each other and with the ruling body, as their revenge has been served.

No one took the Traveller into the equation however, and this might mess up her plans.

  6. Your theories is great and convinced me that she might be misunderstood. But I don’t understand why she still decided to inlaid Traveler who apparently has no visions upon the statue? Does she believe him/her being able to possess elements without visions meant that he bears a great deal of ambition which also mean a lot of suffering?

  7. You know, Raiden shogun's decree on vision hunting might have been postive, in a way. Lets just say that visions, for them, is like as important as SIM cards, for us. The SIM card is very valuable for communication by numbers and telephones, yet it was also a device that could easily make us tracked down by the government itself. Same may apply to visions. Based on theories, visions were probably false hope given to humans. Visions were a tool to keep an eye on allogenes, those who were "superior" in a way than ordinary human. Raiden might have actually cared a lot about her people, just, pretty reckless on executing it (As ayaka said, Raiden might be thinking inconsequential).

Baal may just know that those with visions are watched over the gods, that if they reached their full potential, is considered dangerous, or "offending" the great principles. Or maybe, Baal realised that this allogenes were people that were "superior" than other humans, so to achieve an equal justice for every people, she decided to seize any vision from her nation, and put a good use of the visions as her power, to achieve her ideology, eternity. Notice how instead of taking the vision wielders life, most of the time Baal just strip their visions (except for kazuha's friend, that one was also because of the divine punishment). Baal couldve strip people's life, since eternity relates more to life and death rather than visions.

    Guess what, they don't.

  8. I have the theory that Baal might die at the end of chapter 2. You know, she is the godess of eternity, so it's not like it's gonna be easy to convince her to stop the visions hunt, and also, Signora needs all the gnosis, she stole it from Venti, who couldn't have put a lot of resistance, and she traded it with Zhongli, but Baal doesn't seem like the contract kind, and also she will definitelly put up a fight, and as we know, Electro is weak against Cryo. What i mean is, i think Baal is not gonna get a "from bad to good" storyline, she will fight for her ideals 'til the end, causing Signora to be obligated to assasinate her. And you could argue that Signora is not that strong, but remember, right now she carries the power of 2 other archons with her, wich i'm pretty sure could be used by a human. Also, that would trigger a lot of plots: Celestia finding themselves cornered, the other 3 archons actually starting to worry, the ppeople of Teyvat noticing the true power of the Fatui, discusion between archons as to what they should do, and also the archons blaming the Zarina, wich will at the end of the game to a new war of archons, this time including also all the humans on Teyvat.

  9. I think all of the archons are working together setting a chain of events that ultimately leads to war with celestia… The information about traveller(us) also might have been hinted by Lumine who travelled the world before us which could explain why Tsaritsa is taking gnosis NOW of all times, Why the Oldest of The Seven has "passed away" NOW, why the vision hunt decree started recently….I Don't think these are coincidences…..

  10. Since the Tsaritsa plans to wage war against Celestia I think she told the other archons about that, and they started preparing, planning.
So did Zhongli, so did Baal, and it might be being done by Sumeru's Archon.
In the story trailer it says that the wisdom is the enemy of the god of wisdom, which means that in sumeru the chapter might be about getting to the bottom of stuff, trying to learn, why must celestial reset stuff, what is eery and disturbing about said knowledge? Since after all it is hinted that knowledge disturbs sumeru's Archon.
