How about DnD in genshin? I think that would be interesting some can play for fun, some are tryhards and some are just nerds
For pvp to be viable it would have to be preset builds for everyone so it is actually fair
i think stock unit vs units would be interesting. pre built characters. Guilds would still be a problem with the whales vs f2p if leaderboards are invovled (which is the only way i can imagine it to be considered pvp and not just a massive coop). the leaderboards would still be taken over by which ever guild has the more whales and less f2p

I actually don't like PVP-like raidbosses and leaderboards. It leads to a lot of internal toxicity within guilds… and it leads to players being pressured to be active in the game etc. I much prefer direct combat PVP…. with the following tweaks:
There's actually a way to balance direct combat-based PVP in Genshin.. The best way I can think of now is the structured PVP system of Guild Wars 2, where all players "gear" is equalized,… as in all players can choose between "predetermined" pieces of artifacts for their characters before they go into battle. The stats on these gear pieces will be set in stone, and unmodifiable. This way, the devs can tweak the stats on the gear to their liking (in case burst damage is too good, they could instead add HP% stats to the predetermined artifacts instead of crit damage for example).
The only problem I can forsee with the above implementation is balancing individual character abilities (since not everyone will have every character). How guild wars 2 does this is to have the same abilities have different numbers and scaling in PVP as opposed to how they perform in PVE. IMO it's a very elegant solution, though it requires a lot of effort on Mihoyo's part when it comes to balancing… especially since in PVP, metagames keep changing depending on the flavor of the month character.
Also, Valk, I love your idea of guilds. What they could do is to implement a form of "character sharing" feature (like in other gachas you're allowed to bring one of your friend's characters along to a mission to fill in your last slot), and limit it to 1 character share per match. That way, you'd still be incentivised to pull for characters if you want a full lineup, but you can "make do" with having a friend's character fill that last slot.
We should have pvp but the stats are pre-determined per character, so everyone has the same stats regardless if you're f2p or a whale.

It would be terribly imbalanced tho unless constellations are capped/fixed and almost everything else is fixed.

Even if its boss challenge it comes down to whales rulling it if its a running corse that who has mona.
I dont see genshin getting a meaningful worthwhile experience in pvp.
It is pretty much inpossible unless i said it before there is too much of a differenc between whale and whale too not just f2p vs whale.
So an even grounding need to be made somehow wich may not gona invest whales in it.

prob what they can do is make a set of character their self. so everyone gonna pick 1 character the want to use with a default arti set and a default weapon. you can only use chara you have ig and they will ban some op chara like zhonli and venti
guilds and competitive content like what you sayed or leaderboards in general would be fun.
But knowing genshin seems to focus more on rich chinese buisniess men (and women) who only have time to play on the train to and from work, I don't see MiHoYo adding anything that's too time consuming.
I think serious PVP is gonna be horrible for Genshin
They should give us more PvE late game content like random generated dungeons with insane bosses and shit like that
When it comes to 1vs1 between characters I definitely don't like it, imagine how can you survive 60k damage on a single slap on your face when the most HP that we can get doesn't even reach 60k.
Maybe they can have puzzle pvp, sure maybe some char will perform better but power level and atf diferences wont have much effect and it would be in theme with genshin spirit as a whole
it needs to just be like moba games. each level starts out level 1 and you can build with items you get by gaining coins and all in game.

Don't care whatsoever about rewards, I'd actually be happier if they don't give rewards. So no compulsion to play, purely made for fun.
Just a raid would be nice ….. 4 character raid with proper mechanics and sections where you can change your tram comp for the next chamber or battle so you can have 4 people utilising different comps per area… this would require a proper load out system though as well
Point of guilds is to build the best guild. Basically add the best players. Go find friends with whales or add them so then Whales can carry you. Note to mention the f2p’s can be support since support don’t really need good artifacts and weapons for example Diona just built her full hp for your team and only support because your not going to be that effective anyways since your F2P with trash weapons and no constellations. So guild would be perfect for this game
What about a kinda sorta battle box where players can spawn in mobs from the over world and let them battle it out.
How about a unlimited mob spawning system, where it counts how many enemies each Raid kills. So people who want to climb the leader board just smash all day.
I can see td being fun if pvp because cons n refinements on weapons dont matter haha.
but honestly, i enjoy the no-pvp-genshin right now. I can build characters the way i want them to be, i can use characters that i like, i can crown characters, i can skip meta 5star characters because i dont like them etc
Imagine If any sort of pvp were to be included, even a guild system, then 100% everything is gonna be meta-centric, even more than what genshin currently is. People are gonna be like "wtf why is your bennet not raised? How are we supposed to do the raid boss?" Or "wtf why crown your noelle bro? Should've crowned bennet's Q"

Guilds would be a cool addition and maybe guild teapot for everybody to go in and chill test builds chat customize stuff get rewards and all that would be fun
If there's a pvp, i think Mihoyo should introduce somekind of power calculations based on the constellation and weapon refinements and artifacts a player has and calculate the overall power of the guild and match with like 100 other guilds closest to the same level for ranking. But this is far-fetched cuz I can't imagine Mihoyo introducing PvP when they are making huge profit. Normally any game wouldn't change if their business is going good.
Yep. PvP in Theater Mechanicus is the way to go:
– 30 to 40 minutes of 4v4 Tower defense system
– Earn mora to buy weapons and artifacts that you prefer to be built in your character
– Earn XP by killing mobs/enemies and destroying tower
– 2 to 3 Lanes
– Either elements of the towers are random or the players will be the ones to decide, depending on which is more fun according to testing
– But the map should also look and feel interesting because the map in Mechanicus looks just like a simple room. I prefer jungle look with swamps, water stream AND freeze / electro aura!
Although if this can cause heavy resource requirements, it may end up a separate game but linked to the same account including all the rewards you got like skins.
But I can already smell the toxicity of the players from here already if you "under perform". A very un-Genshin vibe.
Because for me Genshin is a place for peace and harmony, where I still have problems I encounter inside but those problems are of my own alone that I do enjoy dealing with them alone.
As much as Raid is the butt of jokes i actually liked how they did guild bosses. resets everyday with a chance to win a pull or skill books etc. Higher difficulties give better rewards so even ftp can eventually hit the better rewards with enough time spent in game
Your guild system is straight-up trash. Whales are only going to join other whales and small spenders are stuck with F2P leeches because you get more rewards the higher your guild score. Theatre mechanicus PvP is just going to get redundant once everyone knew the meta tactics. Like, have you even play any competitive game, my guy? The biggest thing about PvP is it needs to be dynamic and competitive yet none of your ideas have both of them. The only PvP mode you can make from genshin is a MOBA where everyone can pick any characters that have similar power scale before grinding levels, weapons, talents, and artifacts to kill the opposing team boss/objective.

I actually want a genshin fighting game like that of tekken or Naruto Ultimate Ninja Heroes. The teens and adults are Playable then the chibi characters are like support or maybe they can be playable too…
More events like windchase can be done. Just no fighting among characters or a competition that depends on fighting. 🤔

Theres only one single way how PvP could work in GI – all characters must be 100 % predesigned builds, no usage of your Pve characters where money influences your character performance.
GI PvP must be designed in a way that it wont ever become pay to win, where whales have andvantages due to better weapons or better artefacts n nore constellations. So what does this mean? Simple:
If you enter PvP Content your Characters are there all
– Max Level
– All Max Constellations with PvP rebalanced Effects and PvP rebalanced Talents
– Equipment is all Max Level R5 for everyone
– Reactions, Healing and Shields need a heavy rebalancing for PvP
– Characters need to have more Skills and Burst als also Secondary Weapons for Build Diversity, you cant make proper PvP when all characters have only 2 Skills and 1 Weapon that forces everyone to be either Melee or Ranged on Combat, when you essentially need both for proper balance so that ranged characters just dont kite simply melees to death, or simply defeat them already, before they were able to fight back. So Mobility is also a thing…
If GI ever intends to add PvP, look n learn from games like Guild Wars and its sequel, dont look at trash PvP from games like FF14, where you clearly can see that the responsible persons have no clues about PvP

PvP is something for GI maybe in 5 years, when they stop adding somewhen new characters n hopefully shift over to cosmetics as main monetization, so that they can dedicatedly balance all characters to be equally good in PvP, where star ratings shouldnt matter, where only player skill has to matter and player strategy.
The moment you access PvP it may not play a role if you are a F2P or Whale, thats the only important thing MHY must care about if they want to make a decent good working PvP, once thats given, its just a matter of skill/map design n features/rewards to keep plaers constantly interested into PvP, so that theres always enough people to fight against.
It means also it must be always accessible, not gated behind anything like Resin, it has to be always rewarding for winners as losers alike, or PvP will die off just quickly n makes the community only toxic. If theres PvP this leads also to the point that MHY will need to watch over n punish/ban Cheaters n Leavers/Leechers for that they have to hire GMs to control n regulate that PvP runs well without Hackers n the likes, its the evil that comes automatically with PvP content that there are pathetic unhonest people that try just to cheat themself to success in order to save time, get rewards quicker ect.
PvP is definetely no tiny thing, it would be a huge feature that requires alot of preparation. The game doesnt even have Dendro Gameplay yet, and MHY plans on making 17 characters per year, thats given plus the existing number of characters now a HUGE task, basically impossible to keep such a numbef of chasracters always balanced. By 2025 we would have by then a Lineup of ~37+(5*17) = ~ 117!!!! characters to balance out!!

Most PvP games cant even be properly balanced with just 1/10th to 1/5th of that regarding the number of playable Characters/Classes.
With this being said, as nice as Id find PvP as Endgame Content, dont get your hopes up for it too much, because the efforts for it are just way too high for a game like this that it would have any realistical change to happen ever.
Would have Genshin only like 30 Characters max, that would be something else, but not with far over 100 characrers in the future.
I already get irritated by people in co op flexing their damage on me or bestowing me with their ‘expert advice’ so can you just imagine how pvp would exacerbate that 😂 guilds and raids though for fun with friends… sign me up. Or as you suggested, same kind of harmless pvp as in windtrace
Rather than PVP, I would rather see rankings like in Honkai Impact. If it were up to me, I'd open the ranking system every month, but only for those who buy Battle Passes. This way, free to play players who don't want to join feel no pressure to earn more primos. Rewards for Battle Pass buyers should include early skins for the top players.
