Not to defend Twitter, because frankly they’ll riot at the drop of a hat, but I do have to disagree with noble a bit here.
The Hilichurls are not like the Grimm from RWBY, they are confirmed, in game, to be a collective of tribal beings. Ella Musk is a character that studies their language and has a quest where you have a perfectly peaceful conversation with a Hilichurl.
Of course I understand the idea of separating reality from fiction, but there is still nuance. Killing in GTA is ok because you play as criminals, it’s fine to do whatever you want. But in Genshin the player is encouraged to kill groups of tribal people and is called a hero for it. The parallels to literally one of the worst parts of human history are strong.
I won’t condemn anyone for playing the game, I’d be a hypocrite otherwise, but the situation can’t just be brushed aside so easily.
