I think genshin needs an active balancing team that adjusts characters when the community proves they're useless. All the characters should feel powerful and useful when built properly
I've noticed that and they won't fix it. If you use the characters that were at launch on like some of the newer domains, world bosses, weekly bosses it is insanely difficult because the older characters lack the DPS and the mechanics that newer characters possess.😮
There is undeniably power creep, but I really don't see how it's an issue with a PvE game like this. There is no content in the game that can't be beaten by well beat 4*s, let alone older 5*s.
Not a single DPS outperforms Hutao vape with yelan XQ in single target scenario and diluc keqing are just standard banner ofc they arent top tier. Klee was only considered good because she came out so early noone knew.
As a 6month player I'm happy with any 5* yes even Qiqi/Dehya. My view is, this game is not a competitive game(other than the TCG component). There's no PVP. Great there's a new strong character that will shave 4.5 secs off a domain clear time when your clear time is already under 40secs. Big deal. Abyss? People 36 star Abyss with full 4* lineups.
we can still? u can even use a 4 star team (without bennet xiangling or xinqui) and easily clear all new content lol. Play whatever u feel like And "power creep" in genshin is just mostly copium to say old characters would be "usseles" afterall its an PvE game aswell

From 5stars I got Tighnari, Yae Miko, Kequing, Childe, Raiden Shogun and Mona…. I like all of them, but I still stick with my 3 4-stars….😅 So am I just lucky with my pulls? Or why do they work?
But note that This doesn't apply for archons . So you can easily go for archons. And also the archon always are the best for their specific gameplay and strength.

the way ganyu was never power crept, staying on top like a queen
Artifacts>Characters. Also Bennett, Xiangling, Xingqiu, Fischl are some of the oldest characters who arn't even 5 stars who are still on top
