#capitano – According to the information shared by Miruko & PTL, Capitano will not be playable in Natlan. But this isn’t the first time we’ve heard this; a few weeks ago, another dataminer called White said that Capitano wouldn’t be playable in Natlan. This whole idea about Capitano being playable in Natlan started when Genshin Intel said that he would be playable, but they never said that he would be playable in Natlan.
When Hoyoverse released the Natlan teaser and the 5.0 trailer, we only saw Capitano in both of them, so everyone just assumed that he would be playable in Natlan. But that’s not happening, of course. If you guys just pay attention to the Fatui wheel, it clearly indicates that Columbina will be the next playable Harbinger. As for Capitano, we might be facing a similar situation to that of Scaramouche. Because if you remember, he first appeared in the main event of version 1.1 called Unreconciled Stars, and he didn’t become playable until version 3.3 as Wanderer.
So I’m not saying that Capitano won’t be playable at all, but we will have to wait for him. And this is just a personal thought, but I don’t think Hoyoverse would release a character who doesn’t have a face. I mean, his helmet covers his whole face, and apart from his voice, we don’t know much about him. All playable Harbingers had some goals. Childe, Wanderer, Arlecchino—Hoyoverse has portrayed them as good and kind people. But Capitano? My man just barged in without knocking on the door and started fighting with Natlan’s Archon like it was nothing.
He accused Mavuika of failing to fulfill the oath made 500 years ago and proclaims that he will usher in a new era and rules for Natlan, all while Mavuika is busting her chops. Whereas Arlecchino helped the people of Fontaine when they needed it. But as you know, Mavuika kicked his butt before someone from the Masters of the Night-Wind emitted a fog that allowed Capitano to escape.
See, the point is, we don’t know anything about him. But we know that he’s absolutely loyal to the Cryo Archon Tsaritsa, so I don’t see him going against her unless there’s a strong reason—a really strong one, you know what I mean? Anyway, from what we saw in that cutscene, Capitano appears to have Cryo powers, but I didn’t see any Vision on him, so I’m not sure. As for his weapon, he was using a sword, but again, it’s not confirmed that he will be a sword user as well.
Now moving on to Xbalanque—according to Genshin Intel, Xbalanque will not be playable. They didn’t say whether he won’t be playable in Natlan or he won’t be playable at all, but he will make his first appearance in version 5.1. And no, this is not speculation or a rumor. We have received the voiceline count of Act III and IV of Natlan’s Archon quest, and Xbalanque has a total of 8 voicelines. Yeah, just 8. I didn’t see any Columbina voicelines in the list, but there are some unknown characters there, and White has said that she will make an appearance in 5.1, so let’s see how it goes.

They could make Capitano's mask a toggle on/off, or give him an alternative skin in the dressing room just like amber, mona, jean and rosaria have two similar models but slightly different versions due to censorship, so everyone is happy

The fatui wheel is a stupid reason to say Capitano will not be released. Hoyo has already demonstrated that they are not afraid to deviate from certain patterns such as the archon rerun banners. Hoyo has changed compared to 2 years ago so any pattern isn’t a guaranteed foreshadowing source anymore.
The mask is the whole appeal of Capitano, the second it comes off the character loses what makes him appealing: the mystery.
So no I hope it never comes off, and his face remains a mystery because that's what's so fun about him
The helmet is more unique than generic anime face number 3910243957192385712. Sure the face allows unique eye designs but the helmet fits the name better. You can imagine what you want his face to look like as well instead of invite even more criticisms about him being soy (he's already not going to have a larger male model as many hoped). If he's not going to look like a weather beaten warrior with the helmet off, keep it tf on.

Sorry, but you deserve a dislike on this one. You brought nothing new, just your own speculations about capitano and using the same argument of the fatui wheele over and over again. Capitano does have a purpose and does have a role in natlan, he has 100+ voicelinws in 5.1. He is very honorable and righteous, which we haven't seen in probably any harbinger before. He wants to save natlan, and no he did NOT get defeated, he was taken away. This video was just your own ideas, no new updates.
I dont think voiceline counts and fatui wheels are good indicatos of when and if characters will be playable or not…
I think they are saving Capitano for Snezhnaya, because they can't just release most of their harbingers in other nations. If that's the case, then I won't mind since I can save up better that way lol~

Tbh, you shouldn't put stock into anything leakers have to say. It's not going to hold water and they have been wrong so many times.
I have a theory. When Capitano talks to Mavuika, we can see that "The Captain" is in quotation marks. We've seen that a few times when someone has their name in quotation marks, that's not their actual title/name. But, when you talk to Arlecchino, "The Knave" isn't in quotation marks. Some people suggest that it's Columbina disguised as Capitano, but it's also likely that Ororon is disguised as him

I wouldn't really trust White. He's shown to have a bias towards Columbina and has been proven to be not that reliable with trustworthy leaks. Capitano not being playable is a common rumor that goes around for all the Harbringers for some reason. Since everyone was freaking out Scaramouch and Arlecchino wouldn't be playable when they were revealed. So I would just say wait and see.
