Hoyoverse has just dropped the drip marketing post for the characters coming in version 5.2, and for the first time, I’m actually more excited about the 4-star character than the 5-star! As predicted by dataminers, Chasca and Ororon are set to become playable in version 5.2, and now it’s official—Hoyoverse has revealed them as the next playable characters after Xilonen. The dataminers are usually spot on, though they did miss the mark once, when they said Ianasan would be released in version 5.1 as a 4-star character, but that didn’t happen.

With this, it’s pretty much confirmed that we’ll likely get Mavuika and Citlali in version 5.3 as playable characters. But for now, let’s focus on what version 5.2 has to offer, including a look at Chasca’s kit and everything revealed in the drip marketing.

First up, Ororon. He’s going to be a 4-star Electro bow user, known as the Shadow of the Night-Wind. His constellation is called Vampyrum Spectrum. Did you catch who introduced him? It’s Ifa, another upcoming playable character. Ifa’s a doctor, and he said, “Not even the most intransigent of patients can come close to matching his stubbornness. Once he’s made his mind up, it’s almost impossible to change it. I don’t worry about him though—he has his own way of thinking, and I’m sure he’ll manage just fine, no matter what this crazy world throws at him.”

Ororon has me really curious. He’s got that mysterious vibe, kind of like Kaeya. We haven’t met him in the game yet, so I could be off, but after hearing some voicelines about him, I definitely want him on my team!

Now, let’s move on to Chasca. We don’t know much about her kit yet, but she’s going to be a 5-star Anemo bow user, known as the Skyborne Arbiter. This likely hints at her flying abilities. Her constellation is called Vultur Gryphus. We’ve already met her during an Archon quest, and we’ll see her again in version 5.1.

As for her abilities, according to info from Project Enka, Chasca’s Normal Attacks can trigger Night Spirit. She’s also a bow user, and her charged attacks are expected to deal more damage. Her Elemental Skill reportedly has two modes: a short press or tap will make her float above the ground, while a long press triggers Night Spirit Mode, giving her horizontal movement.

The flying duration of Chasca’s skill supposedly surpasses Wanderer’s, but this may be limited to Natlan. It should be really helpful for exploration, like the abilities of other Natlan characters such as Mualani. Her Elemental Burst may trigger coordinated attacks, similar to Xingqiu or Yelan, and it could also reset the cooldown of her Elemental Skill. She seems to be shaping up as a sub-DPS, but as an Anemo character, in contrast to the Hydro of Xingqiu and Yelan.

Moving on to Chasca’s talents. Her first talent reportedly boosts attack and damage based on the elements of other party members. According to earlier info, she can transform her element to Hydro, Electro, Pyro, or Cryo—but not Geo or Dendro. Her second talent lets her arrows trigger Night Spirit and Dispersion effects. Lastly, her third talent allows her charged attacks to recover energy for the whole team, which will be super useful.

Project Enka also shared details about her signature weapon. It’s going to be a bow with the highest attack in the game—741 Attack with 22% Crit Damage! Its passive effect increases normal and charged attack damage by 28%, though we’re not sure if that’s at Refinement 1 or higher. Additionally, when Chasca has this weapon and enters Night Spirit Mode, her damage will increase further. Plus, her charged shots will recover energy, making it even more valuable.

  5. Wuthering Waves 1.3 Waves was so good i cant even look at this mid garbage anymore. Lmao Shorekeeper the Character in 1.3 can already make exploration a breeze and guess what i works everywhere and goes way longer then Wanderer. And shes a universal Support. Considering not touching a hoyo game anymore. Sure they doing a few hype patches here and there but since they introduce very weird systems since the last region its all going downhill so crazy. Its a mystery to me how Star Rail has top earning maxbe its cauz i havent even touch it.

Ororon will be like the most useless character ever.. wtf is with MHYs more than obvious obsession with Electro 4s Bow Characters??? thats now the fucking FOURTH of them and that right after Sethos, which clearly got his 5s status stolen by fuckign Sigewinne, just because some stupid whales whine for her like always to be 5s…just to ditch her then because she obviously ends up being underwhelming, because MHY sees only the money, but is lazy as fuck and doesn't buff the characters kit to 5s niveau, but kept Sigewinnes 4s kit and sold it as 5s character to please the whale whiners, while in return Sethos lost therefore his 5s status and got nerfed.. because Im 100% certain ,wouldnt peiople have whine for Sigewinne, then she woudl have ended up as 4s Hydro Bow Character, somethign that the game still doesnt have.. and Sethos would have been finally the first 5star Electro bow character, instead of ending up just as the 3rd 4s one after Sara and Fischl…

    what the hell should Ororon even offer still to the game, that is unique and good enough to give this character a good reason to exist, when there are already 3 other 4s Bow Electro Characters?

    Fischl is for Mobility, Sub DPS and Physical DMG…
    Sara is the Electro Buffer and buffs ATK, but is slow as fuck to play and has desopite her extremely short teleportations massive mobilitiy issues for a bow character that needs to keep distance…
    Sethos is the Electro Ganyu…for Charge Shots with alternative Line of Sight Spam…
    What else can they give him, to make him unique enough?? The only thing I can imagine for myself and hope for, is that hes becoming not a DPS character, because the other 3 totally cover everything in that aspect already.. but a support/heal character, one,that works basically similar like an Electro Diona.. thats what this game needs, finally a proper Electro Shielder and Long Range Electro Healer..because both Shinobu and Dori are melee fighters and some more electro healer varity is absolutely what the game needs, especially when he can not only heal, but also protect in one go like Diona does with Cryo or Noelle does with Geo… hopefully Ororon becomes this all in one support package, then I can forgive MHY for adding a 4th Electro Bow Character that is just a 4s instead of givign the game finally a 5s Electro Bow Character..so that the game has finally a bow wielder by Element, which fits also perfectly to the Thunder Pulse Bow

I have a feeling Chasca with her ability to change element will be good for those who lack main DPS chars on some elements especially newer players as they would only have to build chasca and a few supports to cover element typings. It just sucks that her debut is right before Mavuika's and I can't pull for both of them. Just one. 😅
