This is just a lottery bullcrap, where a chosen few will get some rewards, while the 99 percent (the losers) will get some useless items.
I see it this way:
They already gave the Option of a free 4 star Charakter to chose from 8. That was lantern rite patch 1.3
So if they dont do at least something similar, then aniversary is worse than 1.3 patch.

Someone at Mihoyo forgot to count characters themselves.

Also what's with the 50$ giftcard? Everyone knows most of the winners will just spend that on primogems. So why not just give primogems straight up?

To be honest, they SHOULD just give as a free standard banner 5 star character or weapon of choice.
They've made BILLIONS at this point, and to be so stingy on your anniversary of the most successful F2P game EVER is a a bad look. I've already vowed to ever give MiHoYo a cent after their previous crap, so this just further makes me not want to give them my money.

Everyone knows that the PS5 is probably already rigged, going to a Korean "friend" of the company. The same with the other rewards. It is hard to believe since this is the type of gaming company that will cater only to their country of origin.

You know, I just got back into Epic7, another Gacha game. they just recently had their anniversary event. I got 5 full sets of artifacts (gear), 4-5* characters free (yes, you read that right, 4 five star), the equivilant of 70 wishes, and a ton of free resources.
I'd like to see Mihoyo show the Epic7 developers that Genshin is really a better game, and Mihoyo is a better company.
And I could care less about 50$ (which is equivilant to 3k primo's, or 20 wishes) and an engraving 😛 Not a good start IMO. 300 gems is 1.75 wishes. I got 10 free wishes per day for a week from Epic7. AND 4 – 5 star characters. free.
It started on the 7th? why no in game alert? I haven't heard a thing about this event. Is this an asia server only thing? Oh…so the Chinese ann started now, and the global starts a month from now? I'm confused.
I just discovered that when farming for artifacts found scattered in genshin, there's actually a limit to how many to can pick up. Tested it by going to Liyue and looking at the spawn spot but not touching it, going to Inazuma spots which has this ship that is full of artifacts and other scattered else where, then I went back to Liyue and all the spots I have touched were gone. I know because I didn't farm the area yesterday and it's a 24 hr respawn for artifacts.

All gacha games i played gives a free s tier/5star character for free genshin is the only exception i guess
I also think that a 5 star character to choose from is the best gift, and therefore I even farm artifacts for him!
1 free fate for standard for each day you've logged in for the past year. So if you're a day 1 player, you get 365 free standard summon.
For it to be event banner fates is kinda too generous, that's basically 2 free limited 5* so nah, not happening..
