I find in my experience if it has flat defense or defense % it will always roll those stats, it feels rigged.
Nah double crit or nothing lol. Waste of resources at that point

what you're basically saying is everyone should bet on 1/4 odds instead of 3/4 odds

well Rng but if have the chance it's always safe to have both crit rate and crit damage ias substats coz they need to be balanced higher crit damage with low crit rate is just bad but 50-70 percent crit rate is always good Fun fact its harder to get a crit rate roll on artifacts than the crit damage.
imagine a possibility of you not having flat sub stat and you're trying to upgrade it to +20.

I finally got atk sands with crit rate and crit damage… It went all into def (jk, 25% crit dmg, 16% def) fucking 10 months BTW
Even the one you called a bad artifact is in fact godly on some characters like Albedo, DPS Noelle or Xynian.
To be honest I got lucky more from the one with less "potential"
I had a feather with crit rate, elemental mastery, flat hp, and flat attack.
16.7% crit rate.
Happened to me with a feather for diluc, got like 30% crit damage and the rest was hp. Only decent thing was some EM
