https://youtu.be/YrYT3h-AW1k Proof that I clearly did not mean you should spend your money NOW on genshin impact and have been of the mindset that this company has more than enough money in it's current standings.
This video's discussion and purpose was a general approach to gaming and business in general. It is NOT okay to play a "f2p" game for hundreds to thousands of hours without spending a single penny. If you don't have the money then you should promote the game through social media, get your friends on it, do surveys and provide feedback etc. all in a effort to express your gratitude for the entertainment provided on that particular game that you clearly enjoy. if you already do that then this video was clearly not directed at you. if you don't do anything similar to those examples then you're a free loader and I could care less about your feelings and saltiness because that's the truth.
you forget that these games CHOOSE to be f2p , because they can get more money that way in the long run , especially with games like genshin where the whole point businesswise is to milk every damn player dry and get them addicted to gacha , I think its terrible advice to guilttrip people to make mihoyos pockets even heavier
streamers and indie games deserve it true , but you shouldnt guilttrip people for consuming something in the state you offered it
Genshin Impact as a f2p game is giving more content than many games like Destiny 2 which sells Battlepass for 10 dollars n 40$ each dlc. Now HYV releases these patches for free.
My f2p account dont have any isssue with abyiss, every time 36…..dont have many limited charaters but I have enought……and I have nice collection of 5 and 4 weapons like Homa, engulfing, Mistplitter and few more like Amos, Wolfgravestone……Why should I spent any money?????? This game is easy….. but one thing I must say….. mihoyo makes gamers who spent a lot money on this game fools because all R5 and C6 doesn't have its own content for too play and test….. they spent for what? Killing floor 12 as me F2p but faster???? Mihoyo shame on you
For me personally I just saw how much potential the game had and that's the only reason I stuck with the game for so long, I had fun here and there but the game was pretty shit and boring for the most part, also the fact that there are literally 2 skins in the game (That aren't free) and they are not worth 30 bucks, like, not even remotely close. Basically I would have paid if the game went in a direction I was happy with, but I was disappointed to levels I didn't know were even possible.
And also my ass is broke af, any job offers anyone? No? Ok
Is it really free loading if it’s a free service
I mean, we should not frame genshin as just another game or make a comparison to a coaching service as smack did due to their business model that is very different than a conventional video game. They're a gacha game company, similar to online gambling they rely heavily on the couple of whales and leviathan's to carry them. Tho I don't think much studies have been conducted on gacha specifically, but I suspect the pseudo gambling addiction could affect the players in the same way real gambling addiction affects people, maybe not to the same degree but addiction problems could still arise. So I don't think you should condone ppl ever spending money on this unless they have the means to
This has the same vibe as that twitch streamer that got memed on for calling out her chat for not subscribing on twitch. "it's $5!"
I completely disagree because that is far too capitalist outlook on that matter, especially in the genshin context. I think people already forgot about the whole anniversary fiasco and the way hoyo treats their fanbase aka forces artists to promote their game for literally NOTHING.
If a game is free to play the company has other ways of pulling money out of your pockets
I just want to point out that players can receive the Blessings of Welkin for 5 USD a month.
That’s 300 Crystals a month and 90 Primos a day.
That’s only 60 USD out of a year, assuming you play like that.
For a quality game we’re getting, Hoyoverse is giving too big of a bargain for people to brag about being F2P. Most people spend 60 bucks flat on a regular video game.
I don't think they should have the freedom to view f2p players in that light when they prey on gambling addiction to make money. Also, they knew and took that risk when setting the price to be free.
I’ve spent a fair bit on this game. Until i improves i wont’ be spending.
I believe i dropped 400-500 bucks on the game. I think that’s more than enough but with the rate they are not improving or making any attempt to improve some of the core issues, i don’t see feeling comfortable spending on that. Meanwhile other games are so i think more money will go to them to reward progress.
Since this isn’t a case of “if it ain’t broke don’t fix it”.
As for f2p. I think with 8 billion people, there’ll always be those that will fund x game. You yourself as an individual don’t and can just save your money, A comment like this will never change that truth. I don’t think there’s anything to be proud of per se as an f2p. Maybe if you had lots of money to drop you could be proud that you have lots of resources. Then again f2p =/= poor person. It is what it is.
This is a shit game , no way hell I am recommending anyone this crap hole of a game when thousands of Indie studios make better more compelling games Instead of “get baited FOMO waifu simulator”.
We went down this rabbit hole to stop the virus not pass the baton.
I enjoyed the game a lot so i paid 10 bucks to get the battle pass
Sorry but im not paying overpriced shit for a chance of getting a 4/5 star for 100 dollars im good I rather spend it on food or quality of life literally
Free to play use arguments about using money that you will never get back.
Don't that sound like wasting money on restaurant food and comparing getting food in the wild life. Using that as a example.
That s a Gacha game, bringing some people to throw hundreds just to get characters they don t even need. Hoyoverse did billions already. Now the F2P part of it is the free bag of drug a dealer is giving you because he knows you ll come back for more. And we should feel guilty for taking the free bag and not ask for more and pay later on ?? They should rather be ashamed for their addictive strategy that ruins so many people. My opionion of course.
I can provide some examples of how I handled my free to play games if it helps. Threat them like a luxury demo of a sorts.
Around the time I started gachas I played three at the same time. Two of these I barely played for a week (very casually) and got stuck at the paywall. Since I didn’t have money to spare at the time, I left right them and there.
The third one I really liked but quit after two months. For that one I dropped 15 dollars as a thank you and to get me trough the paywall to see what the rest of the game was about (I also farmed heavily on this game). In the end, I was happy with the experience and the game really didn’t have much more to offer so when I quit, I did so not really missing out on much.
So in conclusion, I believe being free to play is something that’s okay when you’re trying the game, seeing if it grabs your interest and so forth, they do promise the game for free after all.
Usually the paywall will let you know if they really gave you a game for free or just a demo. That is the biggest factor when judging a few to play game.
But if you do like the game, throw at least five dollars at it, that’s less than a tip in some restaurants. Just don’t take pride on ingratitude.
i bought a moon blessing to thank hoyoverse for the beautiful game. I play, I make videos, I help others, I like the challenge of making the most difficult content being f2p. But I don't interfere in the choices of others. each with their problem.
If they drop a nice Itto skin I’m buying that shit immediately
I recommend you to watch this video, I can't explain my points cuz I'm not that good at English and this video explains it really well also it's good content for you to react on stream if you want 😅 https://youtu.be/8HLhfsfsdak
You’re not understanding that this game is also marketed towards kids, I’ve met 6th graders playing this game! There’s also College students who have higher priorities in their life than spending money on a gacha game. You don’t talk about or touch on the predatory nature of gacha mechanics in this game and instead decide to name all free to play players as free loaders. What do you propose they do? Children should become gambling addicts so that they can fit your criteria of what’s okay or not?
No one is obligated to market hoyo’s game for them. If they’re marketing it, they’re marketing it not because they feel like they are free loaders, but because they like the game and have an attachment to it. If the game compels them enough, these things will automatically happen, whether the player in question is free to play or not.
i get your points, but this game wouldnt have been as big as it was if it didnt have this free to play model.
Most of F2P’s are kids or people under 18 anyways or those who simply can’t/don’t want to put money in the game and that’s fine. Those who gamble and spent more than $100 let alone 1k, up to 10k keep the game well off lol.
Tuned in for the looks, leaving because of the thoughts lol.
I always tell people this game is not free. It's other people who pay for it, just like someone pays for the food when they invite you to dinner. Nothing's free.
But of course, if someone can't afford it, I don't expect them to spend money. I just don't understand people who could easily spend a bit every once in a while but don't and act like it's something to be proud of. It's not even about Hoyoverse but about millions of people whose money allow us all to enjoy Genshin.
Bro, I'm underage I can't go to work cause of school, I don't want to spend money on a game
Genshin isn’t worth spending on with the failure to add endgame.
f2p are important same as while f2p always more and they keep the game alive when a game don't support f2p then they lose most of the players then its a deadgame and no one will spend money on a deadgame people while cuz the game is popular and part of thay is form f2p
