  1. For me the problem with community contest in general, it's that the people that can participate are a minority of the community, i can't draw, idk how to edit those fancy videos, i don't even enter in Hoyolab, i think i just have 1 comment in there and thats it…idk maybe i'm a talentless person and everyone in the Genshin community can draw, but in the end i just want to get something in game to have more fun…because right now i dont have nothing to do in game, and i'm already tired of farming shit artifacts, thats why i stoped leveling characters, sadly the game stoped being fun for me, i want mihoyo to create game modes, fix the farm, make something diferent, but then the event droped and it's what i've been doing all year, collect chest, oculus and kill monsters

  2. you had me until you said, that some people dont enjoy the competitive nature of some of the competitions. Its not all about the competitions, it also the fact they couldn't chuck us a bone for a 1st year anniversary, even an extra 10 pull would of been better than what they are doing now. But, of course as you said, most gatcha games do celebrate their anniversary for 1-2 weeks after as well so we can wait and see. And I also agree with your point that Genshin isn't a normal gatcha game, cause it isn't. It takes a lot of time to create an open world area/environment that is both aesthetically pleasing, relevant to the space it's in and make sure it is enjoyable. Then you got to layout all this other stuff like chests, enemies, quests and puzzles. Not to mention the music and sound design, character design both cosmetic and skill based (what the characters do)(Voice acting too). Then you got to run tests and bug fixes to ensure nothing is broken. Like just because Mihoyo has billions of dollars doesn't mean that they can just magically produce content out of thin air, it takes probably months to maybe a year for them to make Genshin a unique experience. But of course, it's not hard to change 10 pulls into 20 or 30 pulls, like come on.

  3. Kinda funny that they use this low reward on all their game in 1st anniv since GGZ Era and people only complain a bit then move on, but somehow in genshin its spark more flame. its really down to the community ngl i have been playing Mihoyo game since GGZ and i never set expectation high on 1st anniv bcs i know this is what we gonna get

  4. But not all people are active part of the community that takes part in competition and such. Most people just play the game for itself and dont interact in most community events and they are pretty much left with only 60 primos. Also most people in genshin are casuals who just enjoy the game in their free time and these sort of events just excludes them.

  5. you're right they did focus on community events for anniv. but most player didnt join those because they are not competitive, they just simply cant due to circumstances, like, not everyone has time to do this, not everyone have the tools to participate etc…
people are mad cause theres nothing to do in-game, it's no anniv, it's just another day to do daily and grind for the 365th time

  6. The thing with these community events is that not everyone is an artist, so not everyone can participate. Competitions are good, but everyone needs to atleast have a fair shot at it.

  7. Once upon a time there was a cruel, greedy king. His name was “Mihojo”. He wanted all the riches of the world to himself, and so sent out his strongest naval fleet which rode on the backs of whales. They found countless treasures and brought them home to the feet of the king. Yet the king only looked at them in disgust, thinking that they should have brought him MORE! More GOLD! More JEWELS! The king spat in the face of his loyal soldiers. “There’s your reward”.

  8. I think it's also important to know the general players/audience of the game. Genshin is a PvE game so it attracts casuals more, people who mostly play the game for the purpose of rewinding/something to do in their spare time, something non competitive so it's a bit jarring to me that their main focus so far for the anniversary is on the contests. Contests are fine by themselves but when the majority of the players who feel like they're not being taken into consideration even though they've supported the game either by playing, recommending, indirectly advertising solely from talking about the game online or spending real life money then that's the problem. Not to mention my god the in game rewards are basically the average amount of primogems just like from any other events and the login rewards are copypasted from Lantern Rite, hell it's even worse since we don't even get a guaranteed weapon/character, only 10 wishes that'll most likely roll into an unpredictable and possibly unwanted weapon/character. Also how many Genshin players are even active in Hoyolab? Cause personally for me and my friends, we barely touch Hoyolab besides for the daily check ins that's also if we happen to remember about it. I'm curious about the ratio in the playerbase.

  9. I think the point clearly went over your head.
Community events were never the issue, its the rewards and the talentless people who couldnt get anything even tho they are a important part in the community. I cannot completely agree with you

  10. I don't even care about the rewards, what I'm mad about is the blatant exploitation of artists, editors and cosplayers in the community. How did you even come up that the community event is for the community? It's for their own Mihoyo's self-interest not for the community. Like bruh they're exploiting artist to promote their game for a "CHANCE" to win 100 primos. This is absurd, majority of the people can see this exploitatiin happening but somehow you don't? Even my brother who's only just a middle class businessman can spot this exploitation as clear as day.

  11. Like you say there a lot of contest for genshin but the anniversary one don't seem special in anyway… That and I spend a lot of time and money on genshin already that and I'm not a really artistic gifted personne so having nothing to make the anniversary special to me make me kind of sad…

  12. Community events for people, but require you to have good video editing software knowledge or be able to draw or spend on cosplay….. yeah that's sure community oriented.

  13. I still kinda believe that they're holding on to the anniversary thingy in the next patch, i mean we're close to the 2.2 livestream right, i expect some news regarding the anniv

Regarding the community event as anni reward i feel like yea it's not really fair cause not everyone will got the reward, not saying they should remove it but make it separate, so that people that actually want more reward will have to compete in it

Unless that's what they're doing right now with the moonchase and login event being the anni, which i doubt it is

  14. "Imagine people play the game just for the reward" smh honestly community just overreact for the anniversary reward. Just you know This is "1ST ANNIVERSARY" So even MIHOYO have many money, the is still young if you compare to other gacha that have more rewards cause like I say, Genshin impact is still young even for me a F2P player like come on you can't just give a Free 5 star just because it is a anniversary I mean come on guys the game is just 1 year old so expect you will not get anything you want. And for the community reward I mean honestly the rewards is low but Let me question all of you, "DID MIHOYO FORCE THE ARTIST TO DRAW FANART? " AND "DID MIHOYO FORCE THE COSPLAYER TO COSPLAY FOR THE EVENT?" come on people I can See some of you are really genuine in worrying for the artist but most of the community just seems they're playing the game for the rewards not for content itself. Idk men the review is BS tbh And the most childish movement I ever see.
For the who wants a free 5 star character I will asking you "why?"

  15. Do you even realize how big Genshin is? Of course it's not going to work. Millions of people are playing and they're picking what, a thousand? Centering A CELEBRATION MEANT FOR EVERYONE into contests that only a few would willingly participate in is obviously just bad and lazy marketing. You login the game and it's empty. People just want more rewards. If they're so stingy with primogems, why didn't they make an event glider, or skin or whatever cosmetic they can make to appease the people. FRAGILE RESINS exist, they could have given a lot of it.

  16. i think u should be able to gauge what an anniversary based off other because most of them do the same thing give rolls, a free rare unit or some kind of anniversary exclusive weapon or skin while also having anniversary deals in their shops

genshin's anniversary is just mediocre yea the web event where it goes over all the stuff u did during the game was nice and the top up getting the double the amount of genesis crystals was also good but aside from that what is celebratory about this event?

  17. How is this a "good" concept? Any celebration that does not include every single player is not "good". And don't start saying that nonsense about "you are not competitive". Even if you do have the skills to feel like you can win one of these, most of us simply don't have the time to spend so many hours for a small chance to get nothing extraordinary. You spending hours to learn a new skill for one of those competitions is your choice, just because we didn't do that doesn't meant we are not "competitive" it just means we want to invest our time in things we find more value in. A video game anniversary shouldn't require their own players to work/spend hours in order to celebrate.

  18. Hmmm to be totally honest people expectations is just to high. For this kind of game 5 star is they source of income so I can see why they will get stingy about it……but 4 star in the other hand, they definitely can spare them. It's Surprise me they don't give us free 4 star like the lantern Event. Also they so stingy with the other rewards like mora for example, it is truly annoying how they just give us 80k mora instead 1 or 2 million, also there's Resin, Interwind fate and Stone enhancement problems. All of them feel so few!!!
