  1. Some people are gonna say "oh but that's what they did for honkai impact 3rd's 1st anniversary" yeah sure but genshin impact is like 3 times more popular and gives line 10 times more profit so it makes no sense

But also they still might give us some stuff without telling us

  2. Nah, even if it is just for the community, it's complete bs. Those artists and cosplayers deserve WAAAY more for their efforts. Both of those are NOT easy, let me tell you. It takes a lot fo time, dedication and creativity to be good at either. Completely not worth the trouble for these rewards.

The only way MiHoYo would be redeemable to me, is at least giving higher rewards to the ones who work to win.

Who knows? Maybe this was a test to see how much they could get away with, but, it doesn't excuse the way they dumped on the community. It makes it worst, if that were the case.

I was willing to pay for Yae when she comes out, but after this? I'll just try my F2P luck now.

I really do hope they get some sense knocked into them and either they change the rewards, and/or offer something better (like a 5 star of out choosimg), and/or most of the big spenders leave them in the dust.

  3. I at least expected anniversary skins to celebrate the characters and what they meant to the community. A skin that would be a homage to the Zhongli buffs, a skin that references Ganyu as Qiqi's cocogoat, or a skin that's named "Who Tao" as a call back to that twitter incident.

These are all milestones that the community will always remember regarding these characters. And new players will be curious about if they come across these references in-game.

I dont care about free wishes or primos when it comes to anniversary events. I need something to keep in my account to mark the occasion.

  4. Honkai's FIRST anniversary was very similar to this and the examples you shown was really off as the elf was not free, the weapons were not free as it required specifics to obtain ie gacha – of those examples only 2 was true – the Seele's costume and augment core. However the core required the base character to unlock which is not free anymore. Really annoyed by the fact Genshin's first is being compared to Honkai's third/fourth/fifth anniversary when their first and second were rather if not at all lackluster.

While I understand players are frustrated and I do agreed rewards are lacking, I rather not see people misinform others.

  7. The online community users (weibo, reddit, twitter) are a minuscule slice of the playerbase. If people are still buying Welkin and BP and crystal top ups, MHY doesn't give a damn if me, you and the entire weibo userbase are complaining about underwhelming units and bad rewards.

We already gave MHY our money, why would they care if we are complaining? Is probably the case here.

Awful rewards are a bad sign for the longevity of the game, because even whales at some point will jump ship to something more interesting than the game with the same gameplay loop that keeps on disappointing, and by that point small spenders and even dolphins will already have moved on. MHY will not care in the slighest if they are memed on twitter because their first anniversary rewards are trash, they will care if sales are dropping.

You don't like the direction the game is going? Stop supporting it, is the conclusion I can think of.

  8. I think I can explain the trading thing at least.

I played a gacha game that had a set up for a collab where we had to log in to a special website to he specific codes that we're randomized with different rewards. You could only redeem a certain amount of each type of reward so at the end when some people didn't get certain items they traded with each other to get the remaining “missing” ones.
